According to my Cajun husband, the lentil turmeric soup with spicy shrimp was “slap yo’ momma good”. He does not give out compliments like this often. He said it reminded him of his grandmother’s lentil and andouille sausage soup. I enjoyed the fact that everything on the menu except the injera was gluten free. I ordered the vegan platter. I enjoyed it with rice. It was so filling I did take leftovers with me. The traditional tea was soul warming. Winter spices and a cardamom pod. Heaven. I had two servings. Then I ordered coffee for the end of my meal experience. #glutenfree #vegan The restaurant filled up while we ate. Comfort food for all. They were out of baklava since the lady they purchase it from didn’t cook a batch today. They do prefer cash or checks. An ATM is present in the restaurant. It charges a nominal fee (less than a dollar).

Honestly, I cant emphasize enough how delicious their food is. When I think of soul food, comfort food, this cuisine is the first that comes to mind. The Veggie platter is my go to and i often find myself dreading my last bite. If i can eat this daily I would. Sam who takes care of the front end gives nothing short of kind and great service. Thank you so much for bringing this absolutely beautiful and most delicious food to Alaska.

The owner is a hardworking man and an absolutely amazing chef. I ordered the lamb dish and it was perfectly executed. The lamb is juicy and tender, very very fresh too. They only have two people working there, the chef and his wife, so the wait time might be a bit longer. But the food is totally worth the wait and the chef came to give us updates. It is hard to find places that cook each plate individually. I was very skeptical about getting Ethiopian food in Alaska, but I’m so happy that I came to this restaurant. Great opportunity to support small business and minority businesses.

My first time eating Ethiopian cuisine and it was delicious! I loved the rice, the beef was spicy, but not too overwhelming.

Thank you for sharing the deliciousness. They're back in business after two years of closing due to the covid-19 restrictions. Most delicious food in town. Food lovers talk in the industry. Chaiy or the herbal tea with lamb oh unbelievable.

Queen of Sheba is one of our favorite restaurants in town! The owners are a sweet couple and work hard to bring the yummiest plate to your table. Their menu is full of variety and won’t disappoint. I have mostly ordered from their vegetarian menu while my fiancée has enjoyed their beef tibs. Their meal comes with injera bread, which is a delicious sourdough-like pancake, and lentils. The lentils are my absolute favorite! If you’re looking for an authentic and local experience, look no further than Queen of Sheba!

This was an amazing place to dine and enjoy the company of a good friend or two, or family. Everyone was friendly, and attentive. Food was fantastic. It was very easy going and almost felt like I was on someone’s home and treated like a special guest. Highly recommend. Food was flavourful and tasted fresh and clean. I have some dietary restrictions so having a lot of vegetarian options was amazing. Right up my alley. Thank you for a great experience. I will definitely come again!!!

Every time we come here, we feel like family. I can’t stress enough the need to support local businesses and it feels great to be able to do so at this family run restaurant. We have never gone and not had the food be AMAZING. Make sure to ask for some hot tea; the spice combination is ridiculously good. This is a MUST TRY for anyone looking to branch out from their normal palette.

They are working on a new lunch menu option and the dish that was provided to me and my coworkers was delicious! The spices and the way they embed themselves into the fresh chicken from Wasilla is a bullet train to flavor town. I highly recommend everyone invite their friends, family or coworkers to eat here for lunch or dinner!

This place is a hidden gem in Anchorage. The food was amazing. The restaurant is simple and elegant at the same time. The Yebeg Alicha, a lamb dish was superb with spices an explosion of intense flavor. Ethiopian coffee is a perfect compliment. The owner and chef came to our table and explained his preparation process with natural herbs and spices prepared in house. It was a great honor to speak with him. If you come to Anchorage please fit this place in as one of your stops. The quality and friendliness rivals any 5 star place here.

I love this place! The food is incredible and the portions generous. Just make sure you aren't on a time crunch and don't come in hangry. They aren't fast, but it is well worth the wait!

Couldn't be happier with our experience dining in tonight. Cozy atmosphere with great food, huge portions and and exceptional owner. The staff were all very attentive and the owner was incredibly nice and talked with us a bit about the cooking classes they offer. He was so kind in bringing extra njera and some samosas left from a catering event on the house. It is clear he takes great pride in his food and in being apart of this community. Highly recommend, especially if you are looking to try a different type of food that will have you coming back.

Love that this is in Anchorage Alaska! Food was delicious, service was fantastic, we were taking leftovers home and got an extra serving of the turmeric lentils straight from the chef. The vegan platter was delicious but we would have ordered different because #8 and #14 came with a side of lentils, but we have leftovers to take home so we won’t complain. Do yourself a favor and order the injera with everything and eat with your fingers! Love the authenticity of it all. We will be back for sure!

Excellent!!! I was immensely impressed with everything about this restaurant. Visiting from Chicago, I have experienced several authentic and fine Ethiopian restaurants. Chicago has a strong Ethiopian presence. This is one of the BEST I've tasted. Spices were divine and authentic and the portions were plenty. To top it off the service was great. We seated ourselves and our order was taken and we had our meal within minutes. The host/waitress/server/cashier handled a full group of restaurant patrons with style and professionalism. The restaurant was clean and very presentable including the bathroom. The chairs were comfortable and the ambiance was excellent. Would have been nice to have more traditional music. But the Jazz was nice. Having had plenty of authentic and good Ethiopian food, I rate this among the best!! I'm just visiting Alaska but I hope to return before leaving.

The best food I have had in Anchorage so far. Full of incredible flavor. The chicken was luscious. The injera (bread you eat with) was delicious. The veg sampler was tasty on each one. Lots of lentils so prepare for that! The tea was also really wonderful. The aesthetic is also very nice inside, the decorations and music and atmosphere were well put together.

Very, very pleased with the food. The flavor of the awaze tibs was incredible and something as basic as the collard greens were some of the best I’ve had. It had its own distinct flavor in comparison to other Ethiopian restaurants that I have eaten at.

This was my first time having Ethiopian food and it was exceptional here! I got the lamb and it was so good. I will definitely come back when I am in Anchorage again.

So good! The doro tibs was fabulous and comes with little piles of lentils too. Great, very spongy injera, and a ton of food for the price. Love having an Ethiopian restaurant in Anchorage!

Four of us dined at this fantastic restaurant. Three are meat eaters, one is vegetarian. We were all able to choose from a variety of dishes. The server was gracious, and very helpful with advice and information on the different choices. Every dish was delicious, and we left satisfied, and with leftovers to take home and enjoy. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Anchorage!

Delightful spice combinations for your taste-buds. My first visit in September 2022 made me happy and I can think of no other food experience I've had quite like it. I had the Mix Vegan Platter for $23.00 - being a generous portion, I did not expect to finish it all, but it was too novel to leave it alone. The Chef and Staff were friendly, the atmosphere and cleanliness were good. I will be back with a group so we can sample many dishes.

I can’t say enough amazing things about this restaurant. My sister and I had a lunch date here and boy am I happy we tried something new. The food was exquisite, very telling of the love that was poured into preparing it. The owners are two of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. The prices are more than fair for the portion of food you get and honestly I wouldn’t have minded paying more as I thought it was Incredibly cheap. Very vegan friendly menu as well. They can count on us going back for sure. You will not regret dining at this restaurant.

Amazing food. We got the vegan mix platter and espresso for after meal. The owners even top us off for leftovers hahaha. We’ll be back.

An hour before closing, the door sign said there was no more food! But gracias a Dios I tried my luck and they scrapped a vegetarian platter together for me to-go AND let me sip a grand glass of sweet, warm tea while I waited. The music and ambiance was like a home away from home, and the folks running it were so kind! I cannot wait to go back and taste more! The injera and spiced vegetables were a mana from the earth - oh my good yum!
