Incredible views and a pristine environment. This place is like straight out of a NatGeo nature documentary. We went on a Sunday so the visitor center was closed but the nature area and hikes are still open to the visitors. You can drive up to the visitor center, hike here and continue down towards Chugach State Park. These areas are remote and frequented by bears 🐻 and mooses 🫎 so be careful and vigilant while on the trails.

I LOVED the many displays and touchable info. They were very specific to the park nature. Reading them before hiking helped make the hike better. A pleasant surprise was finish our hike just time for a wild food presentation. Thanjs!!!

Beautiful location for hiking, wildlife viewing and education. There are several trail options, from a 0.75 mile nature loop, up to several miles around the park site, all of which provide scenery and wildlife. A couple of the longer trails were closed due to increased bear activity when we recently stopped, but even the short loop had recently featured a moose sighting. For our stop, some birds and migrating salmon were the extent of the wildlife present. The boardwalks over the creek and marsh provide beautiful spots to take in the majestic mountains, and the woods are scenic no matter the season.

Beautiful, we definitely felt that we were in the wilderness. Blessedly, for this flatlander, the trails are not too difficult to hike. Saw a bear and a cub!

A wonderful and beautiful place to go for a Walk. I didn't finish the trail but some friendly passergoers said it's worth it, so I will be back to finish.

This place is beautiful. It's an easy small trail hike around that is family friendly. I do say that lightly as there are bears and other wild life around so do be prepared for any unannounced visitors. But other than that it's a really scenic place perfect to get away and enjoy nature. The trail is free just pay for parking which is 5 dollars for a regular car. Do be sure to being a pen to write on the envelope.

Beautiful views and easy to walk trails! We did part of the Rodak Trail and call of Albert Loop. Great for a family with young children. Can't wait to go check out Dew Hill trail!

What a fantastic hike! Did 6 miles loop. Look below always, easy to slide, fall, trip, I got it all;)) the soil, the mud - all there if you travel in September. Make sure you wear proper hiking boots or similar. And watch your step!;)

Hiked the dew lake loop trail and it was gorgeous if a little cold. Dressed properly it was no issue. The one moose we came across barely deigned to notice us. Though a firearm is never a bad thing to bring along...

Beautiful place to take the kids and doggies! Bring bug spray though and possibly water shoes because the river is very tempting to wade in. :)

Beautiful and level trail (Albert Loop) with some lovely mountain and river views. Some muddy and uneven portions in early May, but our whole group made it through. We had children as young as 4 years and grandparents (70 years, avid hikers).

I have only visited this park in the winter, but it was beautiful. The hike was not hard at all even in the snow, but it would be difficult for someone with an injury, with small children, etc. There are several lookout points and bridges along the way which make for nice viewing. We took the Albert loop which is about 3ish miles, but there are other shorter and longer options. You do have to pay for parking, which is $5, but there is a kiosk where you can pay with a credit card.

Beautiful hike. Wooden viewpoints are worth the short hike, and for the adventurous the yurts looked like fun for the overnight camping spot. We opted for the 4 mile loop and it was beautiful. Muddy in sections but beautiful.

We went in early April when it still had snowy weather. Very gorgeous! Most trails were blocked off for construction or something so we took the short trail and just visited this deck. I believe it was the Beaver deck. Not sure, but it was beautiful. Only 5 dollar parking. The parking ticket is usually a momento for us so not a big deal.

One of our loves in Alaska is hiking outdoors. The Eagle River Nature Center offers many groomed trails and some excellent vantage points for pictures. Our latest adventure yesterday was with gently falling snow, beautiful hoar frost covered trees, and the silence of being virtually alone on the trails. The center itself is open on the weekends during the winter months but offers great events throughout the winter. They are open more days during the summer months. Inside the nature center they host talks, have animal pelts for kids to see, offer some unique local gifts, and provide solid trail information. Additionally, there are Yurts which can be rented. I highly recommend the nature center.

This is a must see, even in the winter. I'd say ESPECIALLY in the winter. It was gorgeous. It seems like people cross country ski and snowshoe as well. Can't wait to come back in the summer.

Enjoyed the short nature trails and magnificent scenery at this nature center. We visited in early June on a pretty Sunday evening. Trails were very easy to negotiate- not muddy. Didn’t see any significant wildlife but did see a brown bear and her young one along the road less than a mile or so when leaving the area.

Great place to go for a easy hike down into the valley to Eagle River surrounded by the majestic Chugach Mountain range. The Albert Loop is a maintained loop that is an easy to moderate trail hike. There is a parking fee based upon duration.

These park is amazing, too bad I was unable to see salmon at the other peak point view due bear activity. Will definitely come back again.
