I've traveled a lot. Having been to Indian restaurants in different countries and in the US, I can say that this is the lowest of the low. I'm not even trying to be rude because I didn't have any problems with the customer service. They seemed sweet at the restaurant. I was even given paper plates and utensils for takeout. However, the flavor of the food was really bad. I'm writing this as an Indian, not as someone who doesn't understand Indian food and its flavors. Each dish was sweet. We got chicken korma, chicken biryani, butter paneer, butter chicken, and 6 naans. The naan was good, that's the only positive of this outing. Having been hungry since the afternoon, we didn't expect to find pineapple and grapes in chicken biryani. This is appalling. Since when are fruits a part of chicken biryani, or in fact, any biryani? The base of each dish was exactly the same in flavor. The korma had pineapple as well! What in the world is going on? Who said Indian dishes should have fruits mixed into them? I felt like I was consuming a fruit salad, rather than proper food. This was hard earned money, completely wasted. Even though we ate, we were not satisfied at all, simply because this was not authentic Indian food at all. This should not be advertised as Taste of India at all. I don't want a response from the owner or manager. I do not want a refund. All I want is improvement from the ownership. All 4 of us eating were heavily disappointed, and having come here from across the country, that should not be the case. 1/5. Please add flavor to your food, not just chili flakes.

Good Indian food with lots of options to choose from. They will customize according to your instructions. We tried 3 meals during our stay in Anchorage and never disappoints us. Curious and friendly customer service. Highly recommended this place.

First thing first customer service was top notch. We ordered on phone almost like 30 min before closing and we were supposed to be there at 9:30 but unfortunately with unpredictable Alaskan traffic stops we never would reach , so requested if they can wait 30 min more and they agreed. Wow just wow that's the point I didn't care about food bcoz we were hungry from afternoon . It was 10 an we were 15 min away, again called them requested they agreed. Man u guys just rock. Coming to food, I lived it remote parts of us , capital cities like Santa fae, NM.. Jefferson city ,Mo...Carson city, Reno ,NV... Madison,WI..so I said to my friends not to expect much as I know there would some difference of expectation. I know there would be some cashews, kismis which was part of most Biryanis in north parts of India and middle eastern. So requested not to have and made it spicy. I kept low expectations but the biryani turned good. We ordered both lamb and chicken biryani. We also ordered non veg tandoori appetizer platter with everything which was just okok. I think it needs some flavor added to it. Again with their patience these flavours are nothing. Thank you so so much...... 🙏🙏🙏🙏 God bless u and ur families...stay safe.

Excellent food and wonderful service. I would highly recommend the chick pakoras, vegetable samosas, tandoori mixed grill, and the curries. Also, the Marsala Chai is delicious with free refills.

Taste of India is just what it says it is. Authentic India food full of flavor and fresheness! You leave feeling full but not bogged down by unhealthy food. I got the Chai tea and loved when they gave me the teapot with extra. Ended up being about 3 full glasses of tea. Rich in flavor and good service. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting some great indian food!

I apologize for the abysmal spelling before I get into my review. We ordered as many samplers as possible to try and much as we good. We ended up with: the appetizer sampler (everything was absolutely phenomenal), tandoori chicken, tandoori shrimp, beef khebab, bagam Bharta, palak paneer, daal, pickle, and four types of naan. When I tell you EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS it was one of the best Indian meals I've had in a long time and I have a new go to place in Anchorage. Tucked away in a strip mall, this place is comfortable, service is kind, and the food is to die for. Stop by and try it all!

I'm a little bit of a curry addict and I eat lots of Indian food, but I ordered outside my norm here. I got the mixed grill of all the tandoori meats. The shrimp tasted very fresh. The boneless chicken and beef were a little dry, but bone-in chicken and lamb had great texture. The tandoori flavor was very good on the chicken, but the overall flavor/juices on everything were very reserved and did not stand out like Indian spices should. I chose medium heat, but I didn't taste any heat at all. I did appreciate that naan came with meal instead of rice and it was soft and pretty good. I also ordered fish dumplings, a relatively new Indian dish to me, but I can definitely get behind that crusty exterior with the dumpling flavor inside. They were very tasty and the sauces were unique, making them even better. Is the curry here more of a highlight? I wish I knew the answer, but based off of my experience, Taste of India was a solid okay.

Delicious Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo with garlic Naan and white rice. After a week traveling around Alaska enjoying fish and other meals it was great to find a yummy Indian restaurant before heading to airport.

The biryani was passable, but the tandoori chicken was atrocious. It was sopping wet with oil for some reason, and might as well have been chicken curry, but a bad one because it didn’t taste good, either. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I am very satisfied with everything I had. Everything was delicious. This place made my day. Very tasty food and big portions. The place is very clean and well organized.

This place is fantastic and is really close to some of the best indian food I've had in New York and the UK. Big portion size, Naan is large yet fluffy, and the sauce is fantastic. The chicken was a bit dry but not too noticeable since it's covered in sauce. Great service, highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious! This was my first time coming here and I definitely will be back. I had the Mango Lassi (recommend heavily) and the Sheikh kabab which was very savory. My bf had the Lamb Tikka Masala and it was spicy but VERY flavorful! We both loved it! Staff is quick and very friendly.

Really excellent tasting food. They also have an onion and garlic free, "Jain," menu, which is rare, did a great job accommodating dietary restrictions. The service and attention was really personable, professional. Forgot to take pictures because we were busy stuffing ourselves, highly recommend.

Chai tasted average and is a bit more on the sweeter side. Veggie pakoras were warm and not hot. Tasted okay. Ordered vegetarian special dinner combo. That way we tasted 3 vegetarian curries. The combo comes with one cup of rice and a dessert of the day. All curries were average too. I would think twice before going again. Only the mango kulfi tasted better than the rest of our food dishes. It was cut into 8 pieces with a soiled knife and we could see some black food leftovers (most likely the naan/roti). Zoom into the photo and you will see it.

This restaurant was closest to where we were staying. It's located in a complex so there's ample parking. Service is friendly and they are very accommodating and customizations are generally honored. The ambiance is ok nothing much to talk about. I'm not a fan of palak paneer so I had asked to switch it up with matar paneer however they switched up my dal makhni instead :( But never mind- I loved everything on the plate. I couldn't finish everything so I took items back to my room however it started smelling bad by midnight which is not normal considering it was sub zero and snowing outside.

Frankly it's not Indian food at all by taste and flavor, seems the flavors are customized according to local favorites. Chana masala, dal makhani were no where close to how original food tastes. It was like a common tomato based gravy with same tanginess and not completely cooked spices, raw garlic could be felt. Medium hot was more like a mild with minimal seasoning and spices. The tea had floating black layer of burnt milk which was told by the server himself. Pricing is also on the higher side. Would not recommend at all. Service and ambiance are ok.

We ordered fish tikia, chicken pakora and chicken tandoori in appetizers. Tandoori is not at all good. In entrees we got Goat curry, chicken korma, chicken karahi and they are decent. If you are from south India go for just medium spice. Chicken biriyani is better and don’t expect it like the one you get it at bawarchi
