I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. It had everything: clean rooms, nice design , good food and comfortable location. But I think, that the room was too small, there were only few shelves and no closets. Also, the breakfast was too little in my opinion, there were no eggs or sausages. But there were vegetables, fruits, cereal, coffee and very delicious croissants and bread. I will give this hotel 4.5⭐. There are some things to improve on, but I'm pretty much sure you will enjoy staying at that hotel.

Chose this location for an overnight stay due to being close to the Midi station where international trains stop. Was told by locals that the neighborhood itself is a little sketchy after dark, but did not see any issues while I was there. Just a couple minutes walk from the train station as well as the metro which made it super easy to get around. Hotel itself seems to be a combination of hostel plus basic hotel, so the lobby area has a commons kitchen and other amenities you don't see typically. Had a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our room being hot and stuffy when we arrived but they found a fan to take up to our room to make it more comfortable. Also as I understand these hotels employ younger people looking to get into hospitality and that sounded pretty cool to me. Room itself was fine, clean and fairly modern, though there are instructions for operating the aircon which doesn't really exist, the whole hotel is on central air and the controls don't do anything, so that was confusing. There was also no phone to ring the front desk. We did get a room that I believe was intended for handicap guests, the bathroom had a handicap shower in it which unfortunately flooded the rest of the bathroom so we got wet feet every time we went in afterward. Guessing this was not a standard feature however. All in all a good value at a convenient location.

Very tasty breakfast. Clean, safe. Hotel close to the train station. Half an hour walk to the Grand Place, nice kitchen for your own meals but a bit small. Nice hostel. You can relax next to the bar.

Everything was perfect. At the reception, the young guy arranged a room for us according to our wishes. The two (three) person room and bathroom were spacious and sparkling clean. It was quiet on the third floor and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was just fine. The parking garage fee, which is important to us, was promised €17/day and was paid with the room. We are looking at the next hotel of this hotel chain.

The hotel is placed in a very good location in Brussels (even when my phone died, I got to the hotel without any problems). The dorms were cleaned every day and high standards were met. I recommend it for solo travellers because the common area is big and kitchen is well equipped. The staff is SUPER nice.

Amazing place with the best staff only minutes from metro. The neighborhood on other hand is not so good. Rooms are super clean and there is kitchen with fridges and microwe as well as kettle. Towel are provided and exchanged daily if you hand them. This place does not accept cash and loundry is small. there was no remote control.

It was my second time going back to Meininger Hotels and every time I liked it even more. For a hostel, it is super clean and welcoming! I also end up hanging out with the people I share the room with, the quality of people in the hostel is nice

Fantastic hostel. One of the other travelers in my room was very noisy/had bad habits. It was affecting my sleep. I requested the reception and they immediately gave me a different room. For the price, a fair and very decent experience. I’d definitely come here again. They have a good luggage support system and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

My sister and I stayed there for 2 nights and it was great. We were in the 4 bed dorm and it was spacious. We easily fit our bagpacks in the lockers and the bathroom was clean and modern. We slept amazingly the rooms where at nice temperature, the beds where comfy and there were black out curtains. There's a nice kitchen with everything you could want to use and some free food and spices to use as well. It's right next to the station giving easy access to anything you'll want to see. Can't recommend it enough.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Meininger Bruxelles, and I must say it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment I entered the lobby to the time I checked out, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the staff is exceptional. They were not only friendly and welcoming but also went out of their way to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff members were more than happy to assist with any questions I had about the hotel. The room itself was nothing short of fantastic. Clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, it provided a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the city. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were of the highest quality, ensuring a restful night's sleep. In conclusion, my time there was nothing short of exceptional. From the warm and attentive staff to the luxurious room and outstanding amenities, every aspect of my stay contributed to a memorable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first-class hotel experience, and I look forward to returning in the future.

The location is near to every public transport facilities. Very good stay, clean hotel. Staff are very cooperative and well informed. However, we found the price during our stay is little costlier. This is just a day based situational problem.

The hotel is pretty good, located next to Midi station which is great for traveling in Belgium, the center is one stop away by the train, cost 2.5 euros for direction. The reception people is the best part- they are very helpful and smiling all the time. The rooms are big and clean. The facilities are maintained very well.

The hotel is really cozy with beautiful and interesting interior designs. The common lobby and guest areas are vibrant and nice to relax and hang out. The staff are really welcoming and friendly. Rooms are a little too small though but that's expected from a budget hotel. All in all recommended for a budget friendly stay close to the midi station in Brussels.

This hotel/hostel is very good. It’s located very close to the train station, and very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The common space is clean too. The luggage storage is systematic and safe. The hotel vibe is also very nice, close to shops and restaurants. Since it’s located near the train station so it’s easy to move around using public transportation.

I like the vibes in this hotel, the receptionists are nice when I arrived. The rooms are well maintained, I had a spacious room though. The toilet and bath are spacious enough. Breakfast is amazing too The beddings smell nice. Well lit rooms. Looking forward to staying in this hotel again soon. Thanks Meininger for the snuggly stay

I stayed only for a night in a shared room for women with 4 beds. The room was quite small, two single beds and a bunkbed. The bathroom was good and clean. This hostel is very close to the train station, which is very helpful.

The area is super shady, I fully understand what the other reviews mean about feeling dodgy for solo female travellers. There’s a lot of poverty around the train station. Gotham city vibes. Other than that and the whole area smelling like piss, the hostel was decent. The people working there are lovely and we had no issue with it other than the small room. We stayed in a 4 bed room which had one bunk bed and 2 single beds which easily could’ve been 2 bunks and felt less cramped. Other than that, the beds were comfy and the bathrooms were pretty good.

Half hotel and half hostel but it works. Only 3 minutes walk from Midi station providing you get the right exit out of 8! 30 minutes walk into City centre if you can follow hotel map - which we couldn't Be careful at night time as it is not in a good district

From a purely aesthetic standpoint, the hostel is incredible. It looks great and the rooms seem fantastic. But if you are in a shared room, you lose a lot of privacy and security that you can get in larger rooms in other hostels. The lack of a privacy curtain in a shared room and the lack of a large enough locker for bags is something that in a private room you don’t need to worry about, but for a room that looks like you crammed as many beds as possible without it looking cramped, you lose an essential aspect of the stay, which is privacy and security. Also, get another washing machine/dryer. Having only one for a place of this size is absolutely laughable, especially if you market towards bringing in backpackers who may be traveling and have need of facilities.

Stayed in four bedroom female room. The room itself is quite cramped. It was clearly once a hotel room that they've converted. However they have lovely amenities on site like the kitchen, bar etc. We had an unpleasant guest in our room and the hostel promptly moved us to a new room, that was very good of them. Good stay overall.

Excellent hostel, with loads of other interesting travellers in it. Very convenient with it being right next to the train station. Very high quality and cleanly rooms and bathrooms with excellent amenities. If I get the chance to return to Brussels would definitely stay again.

It was an amazing and quiet and affordable stay. Laundry service was at an additional cost, but they only had 1 washer and dryer, which we had to share with the whole hotel. It was also near the metro, about 5 minutes walk away from Brussels Midi-Zuid Station

The room is clean and well equipped. The bathroom is very accessible. There is a bar at the reception with a great selection of Belgian beer and food with great service. Additionally, it is very close to Midi station and in a great neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place to fellow traveler.

Stayed in 4 bed room (2 singles and one bunk). Linens made and towels included. Washrooms included body wash/shampoo and hand soap. Had a desk area with just adequate storage area. Bring lock if you want to use small lockers to store valuables. Decent common kitchen. Large outdoor terrace which was active. Bar has small decent selection of Belgian beers at ok prices and knowledgeable staff. No outside alcohol allowed. Great location steps away from midi train station. Immediate area is not tourist oriented.

This is a very big hostel. It has more of a hotel feel to it. This would be a good choice if you are travelling with a large group. There is a kitchen and laundry which is easy to use. It is an 8 minute walk to the Gare du Midi train station which makes it convenient for getting to the city centre. There is also a small grocery store in the train station. The neighbourhood outside the hostel does not feel very safe, so thankfully it is just a very quick walk to the hostel. Inside is completely fine and comfortable. As a solo traveller I would choose something closer to the city centre next time and a smaller hostel so that it’s easier to meet people. I also wish there were larger lockers in the rooms to store your things. The staff was very helpful and nice and I did feel very safe and comfortable inside the hostel. I loved the bright colours for the decorations.

It's close to the train station and ideal for quick stops on your travel. But the service is lacking in experience and the amenities are few. You have to book room cleaning, no glasses in the room so you have to ask for those. Do not come to Brussels if there is a conference on. Prices go up a lot and the better positioned hotels fill up quickly

Great location. Close to Brussels Midi. Staff could be friendlier. The only friendly staff that i have come across were 2...1 guy who did my check in (he was very lovely & kind), the other one was a lady with a short dark hair (very2 helpful with the kitchen direction etc). The others didn't seem wanna be there :-D. The blond lady with glasses was scary & ignored me for a while & preferred to serve the other guests (not sure what her issue was :-D ).

Good hostel close to the train station. Nothing crazy, but does what a hostel is supposed to do. It’s clean, staff is friendly, it has a large eating area and it has a bar/snacks. Rooms could be a little bigger though. I recommend for a short stay :)

Got a private room, best hostel I've been too. Staff were very friendly and the check-in and out processes were very easy. It's a bit expensive, but the facilities are very clean, the floors were almost always quiet, and the location is very close to a large train station which is perfect for traveling early or late.

This is Hands hostel I have stayed in. My wife and I have been traveling since Nov 30th through Europe and have been staying at hostels along the way. The staff here is amazing and very helpful. They go above and beyond for your satisfaction. We asked for a private room instead of a group room and they accommodate it with ease. The room as clean and amazing as well. Each floor has it own theme and you have to use a room key to activate the elevator, which add to extra piece of mind for security. The beds as super comfy and it’s quit. The room comes with everything you need, Tv, hair dryer, and shampoo for the shower. The breakfast was a traditional continental breakfast. But that too was delicious with some of the hot foods served. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I’m looking for the next hotel in their chain to stay in.

Clean, modern room with a spacious bathroom. The rooms has plenty of utilities such as plugs, soap, and a hair dryer. I loved the modern aestethics and fourniture. I've never seen an hotel that provides a kitchen, a game zone and a laudry room for their guests, awesome services. Also, free luggage storage. Everybody was very kind. The hotel is in a very good position, very close to the Gare du Midi

Converted hostel, and they didn’t upgrade. Few amenities (they do have a washing machine, one vending machine. No temperature control in room, window doesn't open. Area very noisy at night, in rougher part of town, though very close to train. Clean but not worth 150e for 3 people.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. Bathroom smelt like a sewer our whole stay. The bedroom is smaller than pictures. No decent lighting. The hotel really gave off an unsafe, dark vibe. The self service laundry is a joke. My husband stayed up from 10pm-2am to finish the laundry since our clothes did not come close to drying. He finally gave up since we had to checkout that morning. We had to leave with wet clothes in our suitcases to our next destination. When we complained to the staff they told us that “oh we have a proper dryer machine for the hotel staff in the back” so the one you offer your guests (paid service) isn’t “proper”?

Positive: The hotel was clean and conveniently located by Midi/Zuid train station - a little far from the city centre but very handy for day trips. Negative: Staying in a dormitory - a receptionist barged into room one evening and then aggressively announced to those in the room that they had "had a complaint" and that "you cannot wear underwear in the dorms", that the dorm rooms were "family rooms". The basis of this "complaint" was not clear - it was a shared room and the receptionist offered no explanation of what had happened, but threatened that if they had another complaint, the guests would be "escorted from the building". The receptionist was aggressive and unpleasant, and the whole situation was confusing and annoying.

Very clean and comfortable. Great location next to a central train station so we got a day ticket and would be in Grand Place within 10-15 mins. Great shared kitchen where we were able to make dinner. Efficient check in and easy check out. There was even a washer/dryer for usage and a freezer and fridge in the kitchen. Will deff book again even in other locations!

Nice hotel near to the train station. The staff is very friendly and they speak multiple languages. The breakfast is also worth the money. They have early check in options for a small fee. Overall the stay was comfortable and pleasant. It is in a walkable distance to the midi train station. The trains to atomium and Ghent or Brugge is easily to take from here.

The rooms are as good as they get at MEININGER. However, during my first night I smelled cigarette smoke in my room. It was quite strong, so I couldn't sleep there. Thankfully, MEININGER has the best staff, so they gave me another room quickly. Another issue was a kettle in the common kitchen. It was dirty and had a lot of rust and scum inside, so I didn't really want to boil water for my tea in it. And as this is pretty much the only thing I wanted to use the kitchen for, it's kinda frustrating. Also, one of the two elevators was out of order during my whole stay. Sometimes I spent around 10 mins waiting for the other one. Thankfully, I didn't miss any trains because of that, but it gives you and additional dose of anxiety when you need to keep in mind that it might take you 10 minutes just to leave the hotel.

The staff was nice at the front desk, the facility and room was clean! However, I would love if there are curtains in the dormitory room, along the beds, also by the toilet sink. There are people coming back at 4am and using water, also a few people super loudly snoring and coughing, it was challenging even with my ear plugs on. Also the card system is not so great. Someone have to keep the card in to keep the power/light on. I was reading but suddenly someone pulled the card and left. I had to get up and put my card. Other than that, the location was useful and I appreciate the bar was open late and they had sandwiches. Thanks!

To start off, the good things: Staff were efficient and friendly, and the facilities were modern. Hotel had a good look about it, and in our room each bunk bed had it's own charging points and light, although no independant curtain. Spaces were clean, and there's a small shared kitchen for guests. Breakfast was adequate, fairly priced as well. The bad things: There is no airconditioning in the hotel. So for our room sleeping 6, we could only tilt one window slightly open, and it was still very warm. Fortunately reception lent us a fan to help reduce the problem somewhat, but for a space like this you'd expect at least air conditioning in each room to control temperature. Furthermore there is a bar, but it stops serving alchohol at midnight. In addition, any time before that you're hard pressed to find a table to sit, as there isn't much common area space to use. They do have a nice outside terrace area, but if the weather is bad (which happens often in Belgium), you're pushed to find somewhere amongst the masses inside.

Giving the price - it is a good hotel, located near the biggest train station in Bruxelles. Very convenient location. Good parts: card access everywhere, more or less clean, colorful design, nice n helpful staff. Less good parts: really small rooms, very limited in furniture to store your things (had to keep them on table and a bed). Breakfast is acceptable.

Very helpful staff, very nice clean rooms and bathroom. Unfortunately had a bad roommate experience, though. Very close to the train station, about a 5 minute walk so very convenient if leaving Brussels by train. Getting to the city centre is relatively easy by tram. Washer and dryer available though it was out of service during my stay. Not a great location safety-wise. Bar is open to the public and had a sign “beware of pickpocketers” which was off-putting. Definitely more of a hotel than a hostel, if you’re looking for a socializing atmosphere at the bar, it’s not here.

Very good, for those on a budget. Simple but good rooms. Shared kitchen for doing your own kitchen. Pleasant atmosphere, I would recommend it.

It was a great stay! We got to the hotel past midnight; however, the staff were very nice to help us particularly with the parking, etc. Would stay there again. We haven't had food there so can't comment on that :)

Cheap, clean, safe/secured, good wifi, good service. Room just a little too small and sometimes it does not give a holiday feeling because there are so many locks and warnings. Their location is okay but not very great. 4 stars because they give a nice place for a cheap price.

  • 1/5 Ralph B. 5 months ago on Google
I did not stay in this hostel as unfortunately, there were major last-minute transport strikes in Germany, meaning train travel was impossible. The hostel showed zero flexibility, I was not even requesting a refund, just a change of date or voucher. They were even rude in the email saying I should be 'understanding' - understanding of what exactly?!

I really liked the location and the security aspects and the common spaces (kitchen and living/dining room). However, the rooms are too small for four people with no space to open suitcases. The kitchen should be better equipped and with more careful maintenance and cleaning.

  • 5/5 Sophia R. 1 year ago on Google
I have never been in hotel that was so accommodating to people that wanted to focus more on being tourists than spending lots on a place to stay. The hotel was comfortable and super clean and it was super accessible depending on your needs. The idea behind having a shared kitchen for those preferring to cook is so smart, it’s rare to encounter that when booking for safe, cheap and convenient hotels.

  • 5/5 François C. 1 year ago on Google
We did an early booking for a group of 20 people. The online booking procedure was very easy. On arrival, the check-in was very quick and the rooms were great, especially the bedding is very, very good for the rate. The breakfast is also of good quality, and the location is handy. The only downside is the small size of the lobby.

  • 5/5 Sophie M. 1 year ago on Google
Staff was super helpful (printing tickets, asking for directions/help with transportation). The only thing I would change: there were only 2 small lockers in my room (4 beds). Otherwise, very clean & just a super easy stay. So close to a big train/bus station made transport super easy. Would come back!

The hostel itself was fantastic, and the staff there, as usual for a Meininger, outstanding. However, we found that the rooms, or at least ours, didn't have enough lockers for the entire room, and the ones that it had were broken. The location is pretty good, next to the Midi train station, but there isn't a good atmosphere around the neighbourhood.

  • 4/5 Saril P. 11 months ago on Google
One of the best Meininger hostels I have stayed at, love the themed floors. Excellent facilities for travellers. The staff are beyond friendly and helpful. The only negative was the area, after dark it does feel notably unsafe. We opted to take taxis back to the hostel at night as a result of a close call on our first night. But Midi station is incredibly close so metro there will be ok too. Would be the perfect stay other than this issue that is beyond the control of the hostel

This hotel do have amazing and affordable options for solo travellers where you’ll be placed with others in one room. For me, what’s great is that they have a shared kitchen and the staff were friendly. Beds and toilets were clean, the toilets have shower gels too. It’s a 7 minute walk to the nearest metro.

The buffet breakfast was phenomenal although we just got 30 minutes to enjoy it so had to hurry. The rooms are clean but a little too small for 4 people. When arriving to the room it was hot, but after a couple of hours the ventilation system cooled the room too much and it was loud, too. The elevator is fast but little. The wireless connection to the internet was perfect.

Fantastic and quite affordable hotel. It is actually 2-in-1, both hotel and hostel. Stayed in a 4 bed-room (a double bed and a bunk). Washroom was clean and included shampoo, bodywash, soap and hairdryer. Common kitchen was decent which included everything. The dining space was vibrant, and breakfast was ok. Staff were friendly and can speak good English. Location is perfect as Midi station is few mins walking distance which is excellent for travelling around Belgium.

The room was good size and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was really great and filling. The train station close by was awesome. The neighborhood felt a bit creepy but the safety in the hotel seemed good.

  • 4/5 Danielle S. 1 year ago on Google
My stay here was good. The atmosphere was okay. There were a lot of families and school trips, and the bar closed by 10 so it was not the best place to meet other travelers. The location felt a bit out of the way from the city centre, and I didn't feel super safe walking around the streets by myself. That made it hard to go out late because it can be a 30-minute walk back to your hostel. Overall the facilities and beds were fine. There was one bathroom and shower in our room, which I feel could lead to issues of crowding, but I personally didn't have any issues with it. The hostel itself was definitely safe, and they had keycard entrance after 6, so I felt secure once I was inside. I might stay here again, but I might look at other options.

I had stayed in Meininger hotels in Berlin before and I had a positive experience so I chose to stay there in Brussels. The receptionists are amazing, room facilities everything you want and the toilet is pretty good too. Both times opted for a 4 bed female dorm. Recommend 100%

The place is so neat, the rooms so comfortable and the staff so professional that it doesn't feel like a hostel, it feels like a nice hotel. I've worked in Hilton, Jurys Inn, Holiday Inn and other hotel brands and I have to say that this is actually better, cheaper and more laid back.

We were a group of 6, the hotel was more than perfect for our vacantion. The room was clean, well equiped with all the necessities, the location is a plus and the staff was so nice. I highly recommend this hotel !

Very friendly stuff, good wifi (which is really important), nice and cozy rooms, everything was clear. Also the location was great. No noise from trains and still 5 minutes to get to train station. Hotel is awesome, gonna come back for sure

Booked my stay at short notice. I stayed in a mixed dorm. I felt safe and i liked that there was a locked place to put my valuables in the room. The rooms were warm and clean. The staff we're attentive and friendly. It was very easy to meet people, I made some new friends easily in the cafe/bar area. There was a big family of Italians that seemed to grow each day, they were making all sorts in the hostel kitchen, it was fun to watch. The location, next to Brussels Midi train station was so easy. From here you can go 10 mins walk to St Giles for some nice wine bars and a more local scene, or take a 20 min walk to the sites and the nightlife. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special.

I had a lovely stay in the hotel. It is set in a convenient location beside the train station but the rooms are nice and quiet. They have an area for storing baggage if you arrive before check in which is good value for money. I would highly recommend this place!
