This is a migrant shelter. For 2 months it was great. Past month there's kids running, playing, screaming in the halls which causes guests dogs to bark. The kids stomping and jumping in rooms. No way this should be called a marriot. There's no cameras in the halls. I was harassed outside in parking lot a week ago. I do not feel safe going to my car at night. It gets worse everyday. For a month I am woken up at least 2 times a night. You complain and noise stops for a little while but starts again. At the very least they should have a security guard especially at night. It's just a shame. Staff is nice too. I live in Salem MA. Came to Andover because of similar hotel issues up my way. I suggest staying at a motel 6 or cheaper hotel in the area. At least you expect this kind of stuff there and your saving money. Maybe go a few miles up the road to NH to avoid this. I did not think Marriot would allow all this.

Stayed a week for business and was demanded by front desk clerk Kendra for a credit card. I explained that it was already booked by a corporate account and she still insisted that I give a card. I said that I do NOT want my card charged and she didn't say anything. One week later at checkout, my card was charged $1700+. Kendra was very dry and definitely not the right person for the job of greeting guests and listening to their needs. I was upgraded the first stay and now I am back for another week and I get the smallest room/ studio room?? What did I do wrong??

I would not recommend staying here. First thing to notice is lots of smells: from marijuana (and it’s a non smoking hotel) to what smelt like Chinese food to chicken noodle soup and my room always smelt like cigarette smoke. This was every day so it’s not like someone was just cooking one night. I stayed 3 nights for business and won’t stay again when I return to the area. The hotel is VERY outdated and not overly clean. Carpets leave a lot to be desired. Beds are way too soft and worn so you continually roll back to one spot. There is no service in the room; not even fresh towels. Breakfast is extremely basic and not very welcoming. All of this could be better if Marriott put some money into this location. Very disappointed as a Bonvoy member and a traveler who prefers the Marriott brand. Overall recommendation: stay somewhere else; I should have headed the other reviews.

Rooms may be good for long term stay with a kitchenette. Booked a 1br suite as titanium elite and received 1br handicapped room 121. Rooms are dated but functional. Walls are paper thin; you easily hear conversations from other guests and noise from the hallway. Management claims a renovation is upcoming, but they've said that for over a year. Mobile key was never enabled. Physical keys stopped working each day and had to be rekeyed. Sofabed consisted of a memory foam mattress topper. However the metal frame is worn and sags back, so you are not sleeping flat. Many barking dogs. I was woken up multiple times each night. It was so bad the last night of my stay I was woken 3 times in one hour and decided to check out and move hotels a day early. Hotel management does nothing about the noise from animals or other guests Lots of trash and food in the hallways. Carpets in entryway badly stained or water damaged. Floor mat kicked off to the side as a trip hazard. Dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher from the prior guest. One employee sitting in general manager office upon checking in around 9:25pm on a Saturday night. She was talking to someone on the phone about a guest that left very dissatisfied. When the phone rang again she told the caller she's busy as hell and to hold on. No info provided on hotel amenities, where to park, etc. until asking. Breakfast consisted of sausage links, scrambled eggs, and English muffins with egg which were all lukewarm. Other options include waffles, cereal, yogurt, and other cold options. Hotel staff is slow at responding to chat requests on the app.

No wifi all week. For those of us that depend on this to work remotely, it was more than an inconvenience. Staff is friendly, rooms are decent, but the guests pile trash in the hallways and it may remain for days. The worst I saw was the same trash in a stairway for 3 days. Over multiple stays, I have had rooms with unacceptably worn out mattresses, and some that have had newer bedding. Overall, the hotel is okay, but a lot of the stay experience is determined by the guests that you'll share the place with. My only real complaint is the coffee... it's awful.

This was an absolutely horrible experience and one that makes me rethink my loyalty to Marriott. The hotel is dated and in dire need of a makeover. The laundry room and hallways are filthy and in the 10 days I was there, housekeeping did not set foot in my room or provided any service whatsoever.

Have stayed at a few hotels in Andover and this is easily the best. Very good fit for families and business-travelers, alike. The service from every employee—starting at the front desk and continuing on through the facilities staff—was unusually friendly and excellent. The hotel has comfortable rooms with real-actual bedroom suites, small touches like real glasses in the kitchen, and clean bathrooms with great water pressure. The breakfast was really good, with eggs, a waffle-making station, yogurt/toppings, bagels, and oatmeal. There’s also an exercise room, a pool, jacuzzi (not working when we stayed), and even an outdoor basketball court. Make sure to choose this place and support the dwindling number of hotels that actually care to give a welcoming experience for their guests!

AVOID. Filthy hotel. Lousy breakfast. Shower/tub backs up. Stains on carpet. Halls/elevators smell like sewage. Parking is taken up by trucks/trailers.

Super outdated. Unfortunately, most of the hotels in this area are. The main reasons for my review: 1) My room smelled like kitty litter. 2) the shower was AWFUL. First, there was barely any pressure. Second, the tub and floor are not on the same level so I nearly killed myself twice. The tub is higher so when you step out, it's easy to sprain an ankle. I didn't interact with the staff much but there usually wasn't anyone standing there in the morning and only one person on one night greeted me when I came in. I won't be staying here on my next visit.

Room was spacious though dated. Hot savory Breakfast was not good at all, the eggs were obviously powdered, the sausage tasted very processed worst than Mac Donald’s. My first night they were out of water in the fridge in the lobby for purchase, the tap water is not filtered and the front desk gave me 2 very small complimentary water bottles and was advised that this is all I am getting. I was parched that evening!

Shabby hotel room, grungy stained carpets and furniture. Room stinks of cigarettes despite being a "non-smoking" facility. Poorly trained front desk clerks. Kendra asked for my credit card despite already having paid in full. She said it was for "incidentals". Not only was I charged for said incidentals, she charged me a second time for my hotel room. The following morning, upon inquiry, I was told it was just a hold and I would be refunded upon check-out. HA! Its now been five days, no refund, no action from the general manager and I have a dispute now pending through my bank and have to wait an additional 30 days to get my $462 back! Horrible experience and even worse customer service.

We wound up booking the suite Because we thought There would be a private balcony right off the room. We paid a little extra money for the bigger room and Low and behold , no balcony. With that being said everything else was fine ,the only downside would be the location.

Good location but will not be returning. Front desk reception staff were nice. Room furniture and carpet was quite outdated. Hallway carpet was stained and scary looking. Stayed 5 days and no housekeeping services were provided. Morning breakfast options were scarse and for Marriott I have never seen this. They did not even have yogurt and only had 1 fruit option, banana.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Our room smells like a chain smokers ashtray, there was a hole in the closet door, the tv in the bedroom had 2 big scratches on it, the pull out couch bed mattress was dirty, the sheets had stains on them. It was not only unacceptable it was unsanitary. This place was NASTY! The walls were dirty, in the room and in the hallways, it has a bad smell all throughout it. You definitely do NOT want to stay at this hotel. Pick ANYWHERE else!

Room was fine. They allow dogs at this hotel. Dogs in our area, kept barking. Can't get a good night's sleep here.

Yes most definitely, the staff is BEYOND AWESOME, I had the pleasure and opportunity to interact with Vanessa who is in management she was extremely nice, pleasant to talk to and very professional! Kenny's customer service skills, personality, and demeanor set an EXTREMELY HIGH BAR as what you should expect from staff very easy going and pleasing to talk with, one of those people that you could talk to for hours and never get bored or tire of the genuine, open, and honest conversation however she does have to work she could go extremely far within the ranks of The Marriott establishment if she so chose to every encounter with her was completely above board even when not on duty! As far as the reviews of "the entitled ones" go you have to distinguish between corporate owned and franchisees, with that being said you can't in most cases hold staff accountable for what are clearly the responsibilities of the owners to address and rectify, during my working years I was always in customer service, and I learned very early on you can only provide a certain level of service that your resources or lack thereof allow, so please don't beat on the people who are on the front line who usually have a seat at the table in terms of what is and isn't acceptable at "the board and/or shareholders meetings"! So if you're looking for someone to blame look no further than the suits in the tower looking down on EVERYONE else figuratively and literally including the staff as long as the royalty payments are flowing freely nothing beyond that matters to them so again please don't hold the people who are just trying to feed their families with actual dirt underneath their fingernails accountable for the sins of "the tower dwellers"! Any and all comments are welcomed and embraced especially the negative ones!

BEWARE Marriott will NOT help you if you're not a Bonvoy member!! The toilet didn't work and Marriott did nothing! This had to be one of the worst "customer service" cases I've dealt with. I had a 2 bedroom suite for 2 nights for which I paid $525. The toilet in one of the suites didn't work. The hotel was full so we couldn't change rooms. We were accommodating to the situation with the hotel (shouldn't it be the other way around?) and were assured the matter would be addressed when we checked out. At check out, the manager said it was all taken care of - I asked what compensation we were given and he said he took $20 off the bill. $20! Are you kidding me? Long, long, long story short... Corporate headquarters said they could only give me points - I rarely travel and I'm not a Bonvoy member, so they do me no good, when I insisted that wasn't satisfactory, the SUPERVISOR, Sue, hung up on me. I will never recommend staying at Marriott and their "customer service" is non-existent.

The room was very spacious and the beds were pretty comfy. The biggest problem for our room was that the bathroom door wouldn't lock. The hotel was already filled to the brim so we couldn't get a new room. We just dealt with it. Room service only comes once every 3 days since this hotel is for longer stays. The hotel comes with breakfast which always has eggs, some sort ot meat, cereal, and all sorts of bread. My family planned to go to downtown Boston so it wasn't thr best location for us, but it could be different based on where you want to go.

I like the hotel and the room was fine but had an incident at breakfast yesterday that bothered me. I came down for a bowl of oatmeal and there were no bowls. I asked the kitchen guy where they were. He looked around the dining area which had a total of 10 people in it and he said “ They must all be in use”. For what we pay a night you would think they would have more than 10 bowls in the kitchen.

helpful..young man at front desk was pleasant, caring. maintenance man who saw me trying to find lobby from interior hallways (no map or lay out of large hotel provided) then insisted on bringing a luggage rack to room for me. There were none in the suite. Although breakfast had options, it wasn’t presented well, they were constantly out of coffee selections. Yes, probably understaffed, but, two manager types, in suits, on second day seemed to be reviewing breakfast kitchen, in and out of kitchen door, stopping already limited staff to ask question or offer opinion while guests sat in small area, food, drinks ran low and dirty dishes overflowed in bins by tables. Bad timing, bad look, indifference, all of them should have been directed to clean up, provide more food, coffee for guests together. Managers, who ever you are, roll up your sleeves and provide customer service first. Finally place is a large maze with very limited parking near entrances close to rooms. Suite was dingy, outdated with weird, higher height bath shower combos difficult to enter, exit. That needs to be noted. We could hear some type of critter, probably mice, racing around in the bedroom walls each evening too. Hello, exterminators? Changes are needed, some are simple, just appear ignored by management, some staff. WstayedWeDisappointing. Cannot

Good walking trails if staying with dogs. Staff is kind, attentive, and helpful. Beds are comfortable but kitchen amenities are sparse for a long term stay.

Negatives: 1) This place is in need of an update..the carpeted floors in the rooms are just terrible and prob from the early 2000s 2) need more parking space 3) breakfast is blah blah 4) what happened to all day and night coffee/hot water dispensery? Does it cost that much to have it on all the time for ur guest? Since u aren’t cleaning ur rooms daily/as often? Pro: 1) good size gym, and it’s open 24/7 2) they got an outdoor poor

*UPDATE, WE FINALLY GOT THE PET SIGN AND PET PACKAGE THE DAY BEFORE WE LEFT. TWO CHEW BONES, A ROPE, AND A BALL.* When we arrived at the hotel, I waited several minutes for someone at the front desk... cleared my throat and even said hello, looked around...no one. Finally she came out chewing, but then turned around and said she hadn't clocked in yet. When she returned again and checked us in. I had noticed that she didn't ask about the dog. I asked what was included with the pet package. She suddenly looked really confused. I said that we reserved the pet package. She had to go go get another woman. She handed me a piece of paper to officially sign my life away if my dog decided to tear up the hotel. I asked again, what was included with the pet package. They rummaged around and told me that normally they hand out a little bag with a couple dog treats in it. Since they were out, they were going to reduce the cost of the dog fee. Unfortunately, nothing else is included. Not sure why I paid for the package at all. When we got up to the room, the room was for the most part clean. We had garbage that was not removed from the room before we checked in. Also, we had several small things in the room that should have been fixed/updated before they reserved the room (like the hanging smoke alarm in the bedroom, and moldy shower curtains). We're still here now. Still have not been given the sign for room that states there is a pet in the room. We duct taped a hand written note onto the door just in case. Seriously disappointed with this especially with how much we are paying...

Had a very pleasant time staying here. I only have two minor complaints. When we checked in, they were blasting music from the event room. It gave a bad first impression. We couldn't even hear the front desk receptionist talking to us. Could at least close the door so your receptionist could do their job. You also catch a whiff of marijuana walking through the halls. I'm sure there's not much they can do about it besides put no smoking signs up, which they have, but it is very noticeable. Aside from that, the room that I slept in was clean, comfortable, well furnished, and very spacious. Just about everything you could ask for in a hotel room. They had several different options for breakfast set out each day when we woke up, and the food was fresh and tasted good. Scrambled eggs, muffins, English muffins, a toaster, yogurt, cereal, juices, premade breakfast sandwiches, etc. I also noticed a couple waffle makers and coffee pots set out.

In the past my husband has stayed often in this hotel - he works with Philips that has had a campus ‘next door’. Philips is no longer a neighbour and nowadays we mostly stay at the Sonesta hotel nearby that has been nicely redecorated. This time we thought, lets try the Residence Inn again. The nice lady at the reception gave us room 123 on the first floor. The suite was overall OK, nice bed, nice small bathroom. BUT: The carpeting was dirty, the hood completely broken, the kitchen outdated, the coutch worn out, there was not enough light in the living room (no lamp in the sitting area) and there was no cutlery tray in the dishwasher. They also forgot to inform us that we have to ask them before 10am to clean the room, so we had no clean towels the second day of our stay - I mostly make our bed myself. I went to the receptionist with my complaints and she told me that a renovation was coming up next spring. She promised to bring clean towels and someone really did - after another phonecall from me about it (…). Next day there was a cutlery tray in the dishwasher and the room was done. The breakfast was OK except for the fact that there was no bread nor toast. We had kind of a view on the swimmingpool, but the weather was not nice enough for a swim. So overall, the hotel/room/service was acceptable but not great.

Everything was perfect. Clean rooms, great breakfast and all employees were extremely cordial, particularly Bobby at the front desk. He must have asked me 10 times how things were going and if he could be of any assistance to my wife and me. We’ve never been treated that well by anyone when we traveled before. He was simply exceptional. John C. & Lou Jean Stone NC 12/11/2023
