We just had a dinner at their restaurant. Parking is close, service is excellent and food was tasty. Would recommend it.
The service was excellent, especially in the SPA in general. Nadine and Carsten were especially kind and helpful, always. Breakfast and restaurant meals were delicious, service as well. The only recommendation would be to air the room before a check-in, ours was quite humid and stuffy but got better after opening the windows and waving a towel around. All in all highly recommended!
No water (ok that happens) so no shower or flushing from 5pm to check out time. While things happen, it was handled utterly unprofessionally. First of all why not call ahead of time to let customers know before so that they can make an informed decision? Second while water was provided I basically had to ask for it, it should have been instantly dispatched to all rooms. Finally absolutely no will to "compensate" for such a disagreement. Offering diners or massages proactively would be the absolute ABC of any hospitality training, and would buy you a LOT of good will from customers. I get that Germany is not exactly the staple of customer friendliness but helpless looks and passivity don't make the situation better. In fairness they did comp my diner, but I had to escalate the situation to a manager and felt terribly having to ask employees, which can't do anything about what amounts to a management & training problem. On the plus side the location is wonderful, the spa well thought out and diner was pretty nice if not for the slow service.
Just enjoyed a coffee in the restaurant and did not stay there. The nature around is wonderful. And the place is pretty cool.
The service at the front desk is outrageous even for East German standards. The lady at the front desk was ignoring us while chatting with a friend. She didn't explain anything and was extremely rude. We booked a room with two beds and got a queen size bed. She didn't inform us about breakfast time or anything at all. Rooms are clean but outworn and dated. We will definitely not come back! The spa is clean with a spacious outside area. Nice sauna. Pool is small and dated. Great massage therapist. Location is great!
Modern rooms with very comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms with good water pressure. (we were on the top floor) Beautiful classic style building with antique style dining room. Both breakfast and dinner were exquisite. (we did not use their lunch option) Spa is top class, and the swimming pool one of the best I’ve seen. Not very deep but clean natural water. (No chlorine) Area is beautiful for taking hikes and enjoying nature. Big recommendation is hiking up to “Gaststatte Kickelhahn” where lunch is great and the view from the watchtower is spectacular. Would recommend for anyone looking for a high quality relaxed getaway 👌
Friendly staff, delicious dinners and a great spa. We stayed three nights and had a great time.
The location is great, it's surrounded by woods. It's nice to walk around or hike a bit, especially with your dogs. However, don't try to take your dog inside the restaurant! It's not allowed. Both, the hotel and the restaurant used to be dog friendly, but not anymore. It's one thing for the hotel, definitely not nice, but a lot of hotels don't let you stay with your dog - it's like "whatever" for me. But the restaurant? To be honest, it's the ONLY restaurant that I know of in Germany, where I cannot take my dog inside to dine! I travel a lot with my dog all over Europe and I have NEVER been denied to enter a restaurant with her anywhere. Fyi my dog is 4kg, she doesn't shed (so no risk for allergic people) and when I take her inside a building she is in her bag (and stays there), in which I am even allowed to take her on a plane with me as a "pet in cabin". So, a "dogs not allowed inside" sign is extremely disappointing, especially for a restaurant in this location. Since my dog is not welcome there I won't visit the restaurant either.
To avoid if you have a pet! Your pet is only allowed to stay in the bedroom. You can’t take not take it with you anywhere in the hotel. Unfriendly staff as well. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a hotel It’s a shame
