You do nothing wrong staying in this hotel. The rooms are sized ok and have a balcony. The morning and evening buffets have enough varieties, and you find food for every taste. A convenient place for short to onger term stays. The hotel is located in a fairly safe area but for vibrant night life or beach visits transport is required.

I stayed there on business between may and July 2022 Overall very nice stay I was lucky enough to have a suite which made the long term Stay easier Very friendly helpful staff .breakfast service was good with a plentiful choice . I was on a BB evening meal package which includes the evening buffet each evening . Over all it was very good but after 8 weeks it got a little repetitive but still nice food .This is only my opinion . There was a good happy hour 5pm -7 at the pool bar which was usually busy with the expat regulars I’d be very happy to return to Avalade Big thank you to the door staff who were always cheerful and welcoming each dayMore Date of stay: May 2022

Food quality was so bad, that i was forced to look outside for dinner and lunch each day. Restaurant at one point took almost 2 hours to deliver coffee and sandwich which is totally unacceptable for and empty place. One of the highlights of my stay was when front desk staff offered me couple of restaurants outside the hotel instead of fixing service or at least doing something known as service recovery. If i was not there for a business trip i would move the next day from that hotel. Never again.

Good Stay. Good Food and service. Unfortunately, paying with a VISA card is a challenge and a significant cause of frustration. It would be great if this issue can be resolved.

Rooms are very old. Ambience not that good. Stayed there for 2 and half days but no room cleaning was done once i checked in. Did inform the staff but no response.

The staffs are very active and provide immediate action for guest's request. The hotel area is near by the Airport away from hectic traffic especially traffic for city center.

I was pleasantly impressed right from the entrance and through the check-in process which was very smooth. And on my special day, I was treated to a surprise by the Hotel Alvalade; such is an event that remain entrenched in one's long-term memory. Thank you, Hotel Alvalade!

I am currently staying in the hotel, the rooms are a descent size and are kept clean by the housekeeping, I have had to have my room fumigated 3 times. Moved to 3 different rooms because the door locks were not working. Some staff give a company discount and others don't. The breakfast is good quality however you cannot take anything away from the restaurant without being charged a fortune. The menu to order from the bar area is not the best and VERY expensive. Alcohol and soft drinks are up there with the most expensive places I have been worldwide. If you don't mind wasting a lot of money then it's not the worst place to stay. If you want a steak you are better going to the restaurant next door. It is a lot better and much cheaper.

Although the facilities are a bit old, it is still a good hotel in Luanda, especially for those who need to be centrally located for travelling around Luanda city and its surroundings. A good restaurant completes the picture.

Rooms were spacious and added balcony was an advantage. Most importantly staff were kind and polite to help heat my food, helped me with taxi and were generally approachable.

I stayed here for close to two weeks and I enjoyed my stay, I can recommend this hotel if you have the money to pay.

Very expensive for the cost x benefit. Old rooms setup, carpet needs to be renovated, rooms with wall and ceiling presenting infiltrations, slow checkout process. it’s a VERY old 3-4 stars hotel. Don’t recommend.

Really impressed with the Hotel and Staff at Alvalade. The staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. On sight facilities are well maintained. Would recommend this Hotel for anybody visiting Luanda. The only suggestion I have is to have a booklet in the rooms with the services that are offered at the hotel. (Spa/Gym etc) as well as transport services available in Luanda and restaurants/shopping etc.

Considering where this hotel is located it presents a different world to what is around in the area surrounding it, in a positive way. Service and the rooms are great, mind you, there are still some deficiencies in the bathrooms, like cracked tiles, bodgied up repairs, etc, but overall ok. Meals & Drinks are not cheap, considering the environment, they are on par with what you would expect in Europe.

Very nice rooms, spacious and clean. The service was competent and friendly. Only the poor could be bigger and treated with less chloride. The restaurant could put more vegetarian near to the menu. However, really enjoyed my stay!

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, ensuring that all my needs were met. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel's amenities, such as the pool and gym, were top-notch, and the on-site restaurant served delicious food. Overall, my stay at this hotel was exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Used Alvalade for a conference, so I can't rate the rooms. Decent support for single-day and multi-day work events including projection, sound, and catering support. Good location in Luanda near corporate offices, the embassies, and local restaurants.

Very good hotel not far from airport. Rooms are large and sparlkling clean. Small balconies. Got a room with ocean view and enjoyed it. Cozy beds. AC worked properly. Spotless clean. The hotel has a small pool which offers nice views over the city. The prices are a bit cheeky (1500 kwanzas for o bottle of Cuca!). The restaurant used to be one of the most classy restaurants in Luanda about 10 years ago. It's no longer the case. However, the hotel has a good potential and the staff is very kind and helpful.

I enjoyed my short stay in the hotel and its all because of the staff. All have been very warm and welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate my request. As they did not have an iron and ironing board in the room, they agreed on expediting the service to 30 mins just as so I may leave with well pressed uniform on time. All has been kind and helpful. I am definitely excited to return.

Good comfortable rooms, good staff, buffet food could be better although meals very good if ordered from menu. Beer glasses at bar, are awful, need new straight glasses, not mugs, beer is often flat., I like the bar area, Sidney is an excellent barman very professional and always smart. Excellent service from the all bar staff. TV package could be better but satisfactory. Overall I'm consistently happy with my stay. I recently had a stay in Epic Sana which I didn't enjoy. Alvalade was much better keep up the good work.

Very friendly staff, comfortable room, good service, great location close to the airport. My English-speaker work colleagues struggled a little bit to communicate. Prices are extremely high in Angola, so be prepared! The Girassol clinic is at a short distance from the hotel - in case you need a PCR.

It was good to be there during 10 days... all services was fantastic for me. just one thing that I saw that need to be improved, you need to add more TV channels. But the rest it's ok. I love it.

One of the classiest and long standing hotels in Luanda. Beautiful reception and tasty cuisine. It was the first choice for expats coming for the first time in Luanda since the early 2000's and it's worth a stay. Additionally it lies central to everything in Luanda. Short distance to the airport and equally short to just about everywhere else in the old city of Luanda. There's an hairdresser in the mezzanine a and a chilling area to have a drink or check your emails. There's a large open plan floor by the reception with a baby grand piano and dining area. There's security and safe parking underground. You'll be fine.

I like the Alvelade hotel, particularly as the staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant and room service is very good. Sadly, when under quarantine the quality of the food drops way down and food that should be hot is invariably cold by the time it comes to the room. This morning breakfast arrived at 06:30 , the fruit salad was fine but the cooked section was some cold scrambled eggs and a slice of "ham". I took a picture it was so bad. Yesterday was cold poached eggs and two canned wiener sausage that should not be served to humans anywhere

I had a nice stay here at the hotel, the bar, the room and the swimming pool area + bar was perfect. Everyone was very helpful and went on extra lengths to ensure everything is good for us and very understanding for the situations.

Generally the hotel is good, the rooms are comfortable and cleaned very well, the standard of food is generally acceptable but the gym is in desperate need of up grading. Certain members of staff are excellent and cannot do enough for the customers but there are a few staff members that really drag the whole experience down. The staff at the pool bar is one area of major concern. The terrace is a beautiful place with an amazing view of Luanda but the bar is dead........ this is due to the extremely poor service from the staff, price is an issue but if the service was better this can be over looked. The Bar Supervisor does his best but the people around him do not support him at all, they do not care, for them the less customers that attend the less they have to do. Staff in the restaurant that serve breakfast and dinner are great, they have a stronger female presence which seems to keep the service levels high. I really want to separate the restaurant staff from the bar staff and the poor rating below is all because of the pool bar staff and NOT restaurant staff.

I ordered a hamburger at 12:00 and it came to the room cold with no knife and fork, took over 2 hours to send this to my room. I travel around the world on business and have never had such bad service.

As always, a very pleasant stay in my home from home. Staff always helpful and willing to assist. Can see an effort has been made with the food choices. My only suggestion would be to fix the quality of the beer being served at the pool bar. If this was better quality, the hotel would benefit in more profits from more custom like before. Simply a suggestion for the benefit of the hotel. Thanks to all the team as always.
