The fact that the child's hot dog bun came out hard and it took longer to get a soft bun than the entire meal was off setting. The salad was fresh, the Philly steak with cheese sauce was lacking in consistency and taste but I put that on my own preference not that of the business. Our server was good but seemed a bit overwhelmed and frankly seemed to need a couple minutes to gather herself. The atmosphere itself was great, love the fact they have counter service. Guess I just expected more from a small local establishment.

I’ve never actually eaten at this establishment and probably never will. We tried to go for the first time Friday night; absolutely no welcome, name taken, or time given for a wait to get a table. The waitress interacting with customers was extremely rude. After reading other reviews, this seems to be the regular. Management should be addressing it - she doesn’t do anything to help the business. Within the first 5 minutes of being there, the family ahead of us decided to leave. We contemplated staying, but after another rude interaction with this same waitress, we left too. Her attitude was uncalled for and gave a VERY bad first impression. Thanks, but no thanks…I’ll be glad to take my business elsewhere.

Food is always great, they do a good job cooking to specs also(crispy hash browns, etc.) service is usually really good although this time it was cold and rushed(waitress seemed preoccupied or upset, lacking patience) but I still tipped 10 on 30$bill. Price point is best I know of, and I love walking into a restaurant filled with an older cantankerous crowd.

This place is the ultimate small town Americans greasy spoon experience. From awesome staff to dynamite dishes at insanely great prices, you cannot go wrong with visiting this amazing little eatery. The coffee is absolutely stellar and the pie... My God, the pie. It's worth going just for the pie alone, but the rest of the menu is superb. Highly recommended. You'll leave stuffed and happy.

We were just passing through and wanted a diner. Village came up and so happy we stop in. Prime rib was Delicious!!! The environment was warm and family style. We'll definitely be back.

Stumbled on this place two years ago and really loved it- in a word”charming” the food is wonderful The staff is fantastic Atmosphere is nice and it’s refreshing to have dinner for two and get out the door for under $30.00 Be sure to split the French fries because they bring you enough for three!

Met up and visited for brunch. They had a great menu with reasonable prices. Had fried mush with gravy. Yumm! Went back for a take-out piece of delicious rhubarb pie. Very nice friendly atmosphere with great service. Clean restrooms.

Small local restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes before we were seated. The waitresses were constantly moving. The kitchen staff was on top of the food orders. Fast service. Very good food. The Village Kitchen was recommended to us. We highly recommend the restaurant as well.

Drove up there from Ft Wayne to have lunch with our 16 yr. Old Niece for a Birthday lunch and to give her a gift food was good for the price nice little restaurant clean and friendly Would consider going again this is a place she chose for her lunch normally drive up to Coldwater but she wanted some place different. Country atmosphere. Great service. 8.5

This is pretty much a staple in Angola. Has been here since I was a child in the 80s... probably longer. An old diner that is always full. Good food at a decent price.

I've ate here repeatedly for breakfast and have never had a bad experience or meal! Because of the miserable dining and service experience at a hatchery Angola restaurant, it only seems fair to leave an excellent review for a place that has earned one! 🙂 I highly recommend this restaurant and hope you decide to try it when you are in the area.

Loved this place. Wish we would have eaten lunch here the next day when we were in town instead of giving another place a shot when we were visiting. When we come back we will be stop in. Save room for pie.

Only eaten breakfast here and it was excellent. Place was busy but wait wasn't too long and food was worth the wait! Prices are good and service with a smile. Couldn't ask for more.

Service, politeness, and friendliness just did not exist...Food quality was poor. We won't be back, waitress was very rude, Past experiences there were great, but apparently things have changed. I hope her days get better, we will try again in the future, like I said it was really good in the past...Just not family oriented.

If you're thinking about going, then let me just save you the hassle... ...go. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. The price is outstanding for what you get. They were busy, but we didn't wait long for our food, nor did we wait long to get a table. Even if there is a little bit of a wait, then you will want to wait. The food is well worth the wait.

The food here is excellent and the service is outstanding. The servers were so attentive and Johnny-on-the spot with offering coffee. The food was so good we went back for dinner that night. It's a good thing we don't live here... We'd be so big from eating there all the time!!! Keep up the good work.

Our server was attentive and nice. Set your expectations for what the food is. It's diner food. Not gourmet. If you walk in with that expectation, then you'll have a positive experience. We did. 😉 I just wish we had left room for pie. It looked delicious!

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Great little diner with great food and friendly service. Not to mention the prices were good too. The "X" Special was my go-to, the French Toast here is amazing. Definitely coming back next time I'm in town

Fantastic food!!! Exceptional service!!. Being out of staters we tried the fried mush, it was a new experience for us. Will be back again.

We ate here last year which was only breakfast and we are in town again. We are here for lunch and the pricing is very good, good food and very good service. Small town restaurant and very pleasant.

Great local restaurant. We arrived with four adults and five kids and they had room for us (two tables) and we all found something we liked on the menu. Normally I post pictures of the food but I guess u was too hungry this time.

It's a little mom and pops restaurant. Food was not bad. Was pretty good, greasy, but eating a fresh burger what do you expect. The only down fall was the server we had. She was completely rude and was not very friendly. To me if you have issues you leave that at home not bring it to work where you are customer facing. That right there can make or break a place. Not for sure if that was it or not, but it was enough for me and my friend to not want to come back.

Visited the Village Kitchen for a late breakfast on Saturday. The restaurant is not very big, about 12 tables, so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Our food was served quickly and hot. The setting is casual dress, the staff is friendly, the food was good and the bill for 4 of us was under $40. Recommended.

Same waiting staff as in 1992, although the atmosphere is very different.. felt amazing sitting next to Judge Randy Coffee, and most of the courthouse the day I skipped school and got my driver's license!

The French Dip was served on a bakery-fresh roll and piled high with juicy, flavorful beef.
