I always have a great time coming to this restaurant. I love the Filipino dishes they serve especially the water spinach; I like how it is cooked. Moreover, a treasure trove of arts can be found in the second and third floor of the resto where you get a glimpse of the stories of long ago. I wish Balaw-Balaw is near our place that I may always visit it.

This place has not changed at all. It is the same as it looked when i first went here (1990's). We were the only diners when we arrived and also the only diners when we left. We ordered the Crispy Kangkong, Sinigang na Kanduli sa Miso, Ensaladang Talong sa Gata, Minaluto and Guinumis. Our order arrived in probably 30 to 40 Minutes. Not the Restaurant if you are in a hurry as they probably cook everything when ordered only. The Sinigang na Kanduli sa Miso was delicious, its sourness was spot on. The Minaluto had a little bit of everything, the Shrimps, Crab and Tahong were fresh. The Kangkong and Adobo were also good. The Ensaladang Talong was also delicious. Servings were okay for the price. It was a Good Lunch and the Servers were friendly and Efficient.

Good lunch , the servers were friendly. Rated 5 star ,would return here again. Delicious food and the price is great. Parking here is difficult. Perfect for people who appreciates art. Go to the 2nd floor to see the sculptures and paintings . When in Angono ,have your lunch or dinner here. Highly recommended.

My partner and I LOVE this place. This is more than a Filipino restaurant. It's a place where your eyes can feast upon arts. Quite far from our home but we definitely find time to visit and would always come back.

The first floor is the dining area. Pag kakain ka dito you can room around the gallery upstairs. They have antique art pieces and some works from national artists like Carlos Botong Francisco. They also have some interesting articles about former Presidents who ate in this restaurant like PGMA. They have a pasalubong section. And most of all, their menu is not a typical Filipino restaurant, they offer exotic foods. They also have rabbit in their menu. Medyo eerie lang sa gallery area, dunno if its because of the antique pieces, pero ayown nga para kang nagtotour sa isang ancestral house. Just remain quiet as much as possible para wala kang maistorbo na anumang elemento.

This restuarant is overrated. It offers exotic food such as ants soup and snails but the other main dishes are not tasty. The rice was fine and a  soup made with cow testicles and snails was ok the duck was bony and tasteless. The only interesting thing about this restuarant is the art collection in the second and third floor including alcohol In a jar with a snake.

OMG, the food here is the best in Angono!!! To all the tourists who like to check first where to go, THIS. IS. YOUR. SIGN. I didn't expect it at first to be that good. When we arrived, I thought of it like another usual local restaurant. But when the food got served, and when I took my first bite of their Balaw Balaw Rice, I got really surprised because there was this explosion of flavor that I only experienced when I dine in fancy restaurants. It also has an art exhibit (mix of paintings, wooden sculptures, and paper machés used during the Higantes festival. This experience is one of my best decisions ever. We almost went to tagaytay, but thankfully, I chose to visit Angono.

Local food is served here plus some exotic dishes like rabbit and eel. The place is old and has that "old house" smell. Some areas were dark. The plus factor are the local artworks on exhibit. There were some really interesting pieces especially in the wood carving section. Some of the paintings are for sale.

The food is very delicious 😋. The sea foods (hito, tilapia, pusit) are all fresh. Sisig, ensalada and balaw2x with eggplant are also must try. There is no Aircon - only electric fan is available. Overall 5 star and would return here again.

I am not into cooking, but I love eating! One thing that I would like to share was an amazing encounter with exotic foods at Balaw Balaw Restaurant in Angono, Rizal. So, after enjoying the famous Higantes Festival, while our clothes are wet, we headed to this specialty restaurant, which is one of the prominent restaurants outside Metro Manila. I consider it as one of the must visit, best place to dine, and the best restaurants serving exotic foods. 11/23/2012

It was a great experience! Perfect for people who are into arts. Cool with different vibe. Staff are excellent too! They accept cards and ewallet payments. Food is okay, we ordered kare kare (for some reason, no taste of peanut and it's on the sweet side), the mango salas was great and the grilled tahong. Didn't try kuhol but my husband didn't also like it, too exotic. Overall, it was a great experience!

We didn't get a chance to try their exotic food as most of them are not available. We arrived there at around 5:30pm so I suggest that you go here as early as possible where their stock is available or you can call and inform them ahead of time. Besides the exotic food, their local food is very delicious and is a great match for having a drink. Price is great. Parking here is difficult as it is a street parking but it is worth the hassle to try and taste their local and exotic dishes.

Food was really amazing. The ginataang kuhol was good and the fried itik was tender with crispy portions. We haven't tried the exotic dishes but we would probably go back to get them next time. There is also an art gallery for enthusiasts. Food is pricey but the service and atmosphere makes the experience worth it.

It was a quick lunch before proceeding to the Saturday event at Thunderbird Resort… I liked the Sinigang sa miso sa kanduli.. the kare kare and ensaladang talong is ok… wasn’t able to roam around to check out the displays but maybe next time ..

We just checked out from Thunderbird Resort and we’re looking for a place to have lunch. A quick Google search suggested this restaurant. Considering that it’s a restaurant and an art gallery plus it’s just around 15minutes away, we decided to have lunch here. It is unique from the other restaurants. Aside from the art gallery, their menu includes exotic foods as well. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try them but the staff said we can call and inform them ahead of time. We’d love to go back here and try their sawa
