Id say it has gorgeous views and is a very clean hotel that looks wonderful both inside and out. However, paid extra for a suite with a king bed and it was extremely disappointing due to the comfort. The bed was hard as a rock! There was no cushion to it once so ever! Having the couch was a great addition as you could sit and look out the window at the great views. They advertise Turkish baths which was the main selling point and reason we came. However, again was extremely disappointed to arrive and find no true Turkish bath. There’s a steam room, sauna, pool, and jacuzzi with bath warm water and large enough for 2 people (4 max but be prepared for it to be awkward). The breakfast had a variety of options that were good. Dinner had quite a great selection also but would consider the quality average for the price. Unfortunately, the morning of checkout power was lost for about 2 hours so it also took away from the final experience. They had a generator that was able to power the bathroom Lightning during this time but i don’t know that I can fault them for this as we were told the entire island was on a downtime?

Very comfortable hotel with great staff, a great gym, great complimentary breakfast and decent spa. Downtown area is an easy walk within a few minutes and there was great hiking trails very nearby. Only things that weren't perfect was the wifi was a bit weak where my room was, the hot tub is not hot (maybe low 90s Fahrenheit), but nothing too bad to take away from the 5 stars. The outdoor pool looked great, but it was too cold to use this time of year. I would definitely stay again.

I did not overnight here, I only used the restaurant. Middle of October and they already have the bar/restaurant working with 2 people. Doesn't make any sense and the service took forever serving the 5-6 tables that we're there, which I'll agree, wasn't a lot but on a hotel this size you want enough people to not delay service. Other than that, food was good, and the place is very good. Pristine restrooms, tables were tidy, outer balcony could use new wood. I think they need a more refined menu since everything is based on sandwiches mostly, but then again, in such a small island, maybe they feel they don't need to take away from the local restaurant offerings, and that's fine.

After staying here 20 nights and also trying other hotels and checking out more alternatives, this hotel was easily the best from our experience. The location is golden, with a beautiful view regardless of the room you choose/receive and a short walk to the town centre (10-15 min). Facilities are great, with the outdoor pool being it’s crown. The staff are unbelievably service minded and well trained, which is not a given compared to other offerings. Try their cocktails and meals between 19:30 - 22:00 (a certain selection is available during these times, others are available before and after the times mentioned), and enjoy the most scenic dinner you can have on Terceira Island. Rooms are clean and are well ventilated. Highly recommended.

Beautiful oceanfront property! rooms are spacious with ocean views, and breakfast is generous. Makeshift library near the lounge is a nice touch. Tasteful decor and beautiful gardens with huge pool area. Tennis and pickleball next door. Excellent front desk service. 15 minute walk to downtown shops and close to Monte Brasil makes for a perfect location, decently priced 4* property.

This is a nice hotel with a beautiful location on the oceanfront with great views from all rooms. There is a very large outdoor pool between the ocean and the hotel, with a bar as well. It's a fantastic spot to sit and relax and soak up the sun. The only real letdown was the restaurant. Although we chose this place in part because of their menu, we were very disappointed to learn that they only serve a buffet dinner. It is very rare for a buffet to have high end food, so we had to go elsewhere for dinners. It should be clear in the website that this is a buffet restaurant and that the hotel caters to large bus loads of tourists.

Location and views are great. However, the hotel needs some reno and attention. Staff needs training. We asked for kettle - they rent it for 10 euro!! Gym is run down, sauna is dirty. Food is very average for the price. You are better off eating elsewhere. This is not a 4 star hotel. 3 star at best.

Not enjoying Terceira. Not an island worth visiting. This hotel has poor amenities and wants to upcharge for everything. Nothing included. For me tea is life. Want tea kettle in room? 10€/night. I like to run early in the morning. When not on vacation I'm accustomed to eating something lite at 0500, then going on a run by 0600. Here, strictly no breakfast option until 07:30 by schedule, 07:40 by practice. They don't even open on time, and NOTHING available, not even toast or a go bag if you want food earlier. The bedding. Ugh. My elbow hurts awful. No pillows available for side sleepers. Very old mattress. Parking very limited because parking used by more than hotel. There is gym* and other facilities attached. They do have indoor parking, for guests only, BUT only if you PAY MORE as an upcharge! Otherwise, cross your fingers and circle the lot 20 times in the afternoon. And the parking that is offered is so narrow, even for these cars, that many other tourists take up more than one parking space. -- *A gym that appears ok, but seems to lack any mobility/stretching equipment. No foam rollers! 😢 Bathrooms are VERY DANGEROUS. The tub/shower has very high walls, and is both slippery and rounded on the inside. No grab rails are provided. Each time you take a shower you are risking a very bad slip/fall injury! Almost better off not even bathing. See photo. Shower itself is also only half enclosed. Could easily accidentally spray water all over restroom. Maybe I'm too American but this design is just not OK. Anyhow, all this is to say AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Avoid this hotel, and likely steer clear of the island. The Lava Tubes were neat, but not that neat. If you've been in any large caves before, just look at YouTube HD video and call Terceira done.

AMAZING!!! Best hotel on the island. An ABSOLUTE MUST STAY while on Terceira. Let’s start with some basics, but often times overlooked amenities. • Parking— there is plenty of parking and the parking is easily navigable, spacious and FREE. This is a huge plus if you have a rental car! You can go explore the island for the day, drive from coast to coast and come back and know you won’t have to search for a parking spot. • Gym—WOW!!! Fantastic gym with multiple treadmills and ellipticals, free weights, benches, squat racks, etc. This is a legit gym! So much so that non hotel guests (aka the locals) have gym memberships here and use it as their primary fitness hot spot. •Pools— two pools. An indoor and an outdoor pool. Indoor pool is heated which is nice and the large windows still allow somewhat of a view. The outdoor pool is INCREDIBLE. Very large pool with a little bar that you can order drinks and snacks from. The pool has one of the best views of the ocean on the island. You overlook the Atlantic Ocean and cliff faces. •Staff—very friendly and courteous. Speak multiple languages to include English. •Restaurant and Bar— once again….just spectacular views of the ocean, cliffs, and pool. Great drinks and food! • Rooms—spacious rooms with ocean views. Can’t say anything bad about the rooms. • Location— best spot on the island. You are walking distance from the downtown area. There is a beautifully paved walking path just below the hotel on the coastline that is lit up at night. • Extracurriculars—full tennis court. Two paddle courts. Just overall an amazing hotel and experience.

On our trip to the Azores islands, our first stop over was Terceira and we fell in love with this beautiful hotel which stands on the coast of the Atlantic ocean. The reception stands on the ground floor but they call it the 4th floor as the rooms and facilities are all below this floor. Confusing but....!! But it is such a beautifully laid out hotel. The rooms are great, the staff is so welcoming, helpful and polite, the service is great and every floor has an automatic shoe cleaner near the elevator. (You need it) The rooms come with a fridge and a coffee/tea machine and a balcony which looks out to the ocean and the swimming pool. Breakfast is included on the tab and it is well laid out. For some reason they charge you extra if you want to order a fried egg or an Omelette. The standard fare is scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, and the cheeses, juice etc. The Croissants and local breads are fabulous. When we reached, we had been travelling for about twelve hours and breakfast hour was about to get over, but they staff served us and that was nice. There is ample parking in the hotel and it is free. The hotel is centrally situated and is just a ten minute walk from the town center. Several of the important attractions and the old fort are just across the bay from the hotel. Love the hotel. One incident I am very grateful for to the hotel. After we left I realised that IO had left my Gold Cross pen in the room. Contacted them and they immediately mailed it back to me. This had such sentimental value as I have it for the last 30 years. Eternally grateful to the hotel.

Rooms are adequate. Separate beds pushed together. Balcony views of the ocean are amazing. 4th floor has no rooms with a balcony. Restaurant is a buffet, not very impressive. Fitness area is large and used by locals so very nice environment. Swimming pool is great for families.

Beautiful location, quiet and only a 15 min walk out of town. Lots of parking out front or indoors (for hotel guests). Gym is great for a quick work out, steam room, sauna and indoor pool. Outdoor pool beautiful with great surroundings, pool towel service available. Ample choice breakfast in dining room, nice bar and pool table area work working or relaxing. Hotel rooms all face ocean with balcony. Staff was pleasant and helpful, service great for our stay. No coffee makers in room, bar has coffee in afternoon but each room has a small fridge to keep your water or beverages cold. Would recommend.

The best location on the island. Great views from every room. Rooms were good sized and clean. Decently equipped health club. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was large with a good selection but be warned--if you eat in the restaurant and order from the menu (lunch or dinner) many of the items can also be found on that buffet--included for free. But great views seating on the deck however you dine there or even if you just have a drink. Not centrally located but really doesn't matter as everything is a 15 minute walk away. Good parking, which is rare in this country

What a beautiful island, the coast lines are spectacular! There are bathing beaches with roaring pounding waves outside the natural breakwaters. The water never gets below 60 degrees and there were many locals taking advantage of the nice weather for a plunge. We visited during the shoulder season so the tourists were few, I highly recommend doing that! The locals were all very sweet, you will be treated warmly wherever you go. The hotel was lovely with amazing views and a quick walk to the town center or the water. The hotel has an outdoor and indoor pool plus many other amenities. There is ample parking in the lot, and a rental car agency in the hotel.

We got excellent price for a room with a breathtaking view. There is a lot to do in the surroundings, and hotel staff is very kind and professional.

Recently spent a few days here and was positively surprised. Friendly and helpful staff, well-trained. My room was clean and had a nice view. Things that could be inproved: Food is cheap and very overpriced. Avoid their restaurant. It only takes 10-15 mins to town. Try Tasca das Tias instead or Beira Mar for good fish.

Room view, to the hotel yard, is really nice and facing the ocean. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. On a negative note, the restaurant has limited offer (low season and not many customers may explain that as well) and is expensive for what they have to offer.

We stayed at Terceira Mar Hotel 2 years ago and had a wonderful stay. We stopped in Terceira on our way to Lisbon again this year. Johana, Maria and Carlos, at the desk, were very kind and helpful from start to finish. They were always ready to suggest a wonderful place to eat, helped us when we didn’t have the right currency to pay the taxi, etc. Everyone at the hotel provided great customer service throughout our stay. Thank you so much!

This hotel has the best swimming pool outside that we have ever seen in any place around the world that we have been to. The location is nice and quiet too and just 15 minutes from downtown by foot.

What a great location. All rooms at this hotel overlook the coast and Mont Brasil as does the terrace at the bar. Very comfortable and large rooms. Breakfast choices were very good, as were the bar meals

The cabinets in rooms are heavy to push or pull. They squeak every time I have to get clothes. The service is great. All the workers are nice and eager to assist. Location is very much easy to get in and around. 10-15 minute walk to the main Angra "downtown"

Great hotel. Great location. Great service. Large gym on site plus two pools indoor and outdoor. A huge breakfast buffet with everything you could ever want. Highly recommend this! Within a 15 min walk to city center.

Though in a beautiful location, it is definitely out of the way. If you want easy access to the city, this is not the best choice. However, if you want a gorgeous view and a beautiful pool, go for it! Rooms come with a large closet and mini fridge. They don't, however, come with a cooling system powerful enough to cool the room. You can leave the windows open for a breeze, but may feel damp.

The hotel location is fantastic - only a 12 min walk to downtown!! The rooms were a great size, with beautiful ocean & pool views and very clean. The breakfast was nice - well replenished and good variety. Reception: Goncalo Vieira and Carolina Silva at the reception were exceptional, very polite, courteous, friendly and always willing to help!! There were a lot of meeting/games/reading rooms which were great for our big group of friends. We had a great stay! Will definitely visit again! The only con was the steam/sauna were not working regularly and the balcony doors were very screechy.
