So first off, let me say that if you are looking for the same menu at this new location as near the stadium, you may be disappointed. The menu is quite abbreviated. A few sandwiches and some burgers, apps and one entree (even though it’s under the title “entrees” on the menu. We had the gringo burger and the black bean burger, both with fries. They were good, nothing special. Prices were $15/$16 so not terrible. Taste was good, presentation was decent. Service was slow, having to ask for refills on drinks and to get the check. All in all it was just okay. I think I would prefer the full menu at another location.

We went here for lunch and they forgot our toppings for our burgers, my wife’s burger had the wrong cheese, our bacon wasn’t cooked and was super soggy on all three of our sandwiches there was maybe one cooked piece total. The fries and tots were nice and fresh and the food was good, just needs a little work. We had to ask many times for refills.

Noisy!! Staff were great. Food - expensive and not that great. Husband had the tenderloin and said that it was good, but greasier than others he has had. We shared the wings - they didn’t fit in the condiment-sizzle dipping sauce container so I had to pull the meat off the bone. Wings didn’t have a lot of flavor. I ordered the house salad with grilled chicken. The huge salad came with one condiment container of salad dressing. The chicken pieces, like the wings seemed to have had all the moisture removed from them. $60+ (incl tip) for two of us was privy for what we ordered.

Made our first visit to the Ankeny location for lunch. Sat at the bar and had a great bartender. The lights above kept catching me in the eye which was annoying. Overall, a little too bright inside. Had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was way overcooked. Also ordered a local draft IPA. When I got the bill the IPA was $9! These beer prices are getting outrageous.

This place is amazing, especially the rooftop. We can’t wait for it to warm back up and make this a regular hangout. The food was amazing, definitely recommend the Nashville chicken. The bartender Darrah (so sweet) walked us through the menu explaining and recommending items. She also explained to us how they were running behind on construction (still working on it) so due to the delay they were eager to get open so they went ahead and created a small menu to get the restaurant started. This location has SO much more space coming along with a full menu to mirror the original location downtown. We really enjoyed this new restaurant and look forward to it coming in full swing soon. #respecttheindustry #respectthosewhoshowup #patience

The menu is nothing close to the downtown location. You’d think having the same name it would? Service was really slow & the food was mediocre. The atmosphere was really nice!

Breakfast wasn't up to standard. Burnt ends had an interesting flavor and not as BBQ forward as it could have been. Textures of pancakes and eng muffins were rubbery. No seasoning on eggs. Serves brealfast, but iced coffee not available. The bloody mary came with just an olive lol. Service was ok and cool atmosphere. Now we know to stick to Trailside for an amazing brunch (food and drinks) in uptown Ankeny.
