We dropped by for late lunch. We ended up having soltani “special” which comes with lamb instead of beef and was $6 extra (found out later) and the special bakhtiari. The upgrade to lamb was a hit, as the beef was too chewy unlike other places were barg is just awesome. The chicken and koobideh were good to, though their koobideh is with beef only, it should be lamb and beef. Overall is too expensive for what it is. Our experience with the service was fine. However I would NOT ask for any recommendations as they tend too recommended the most expensive items in the menu (and pushed back on our initial choice) and upgrades that are extra like half salad half rice and they don’t really tell you that everything is extra until your bill comes. One thing that raised an alarm immediately was that we were told that the prices in the menu were “old” and that “the prices change all the time”.

I cannot understand why this awesome place doesn’t have 5 stars. I’m Persian with a Persian mom that’s an amazing cook and this food is sooooo on point and DELICIOUS!!! The portions stay true to Persian tradition. It’s our go to spot and for ordering in as well. Keep doing what u do Papas we LOVE your food and service. Solid food - ok service. Calamari was a little softer than I’m used to but flavour was good (I like it really crispy). Lamb was super tender and delicious but the real MVP was the chicken - cooked to perfection and basically melted in my mouth. I’d visit again.

One of my favourite Persian restaurants in Coquitlam. My go to is the koobideh and it alway delivers! The meat is juicy and flavourful! Sometimes you get lucky and get an extra few itches of meat. Generous portions, friendly service and reasonable prices…winning formula!

I think the restaurant is really good. A small group of people serve you and they are super friendly. I’m not to experience in Persian food (actually, is the first time I try it) and I like it. Specially the stew is sooo good, I love it. So, go and try it, they have good prices and good flavour.

A small restaurant that serves delicious and fresh Mediterranean food. Portion sizes are good. Clean and nice set up. Good customer service. The place is only a few steps from the Burquitlam Skytrain station. Will definitely go back.

Papas is something more of a restaurant for me. Having a high standard of food quality is just one of its features. Another thing is to be dramatically friendly and quiet. The thing that really makes this place just unique of its kind is nothing but its good service.

Ive been going to this restaurant for almost 3-4 years when there was a different manager. The previous manager was so nice and welcoming but the new lady manager at the front is secretly a big racist. I went to this restaurant couple months ago. We reached there around 8:20 and the lady told us that we cannot dine in and its too late but then proceeded to seat a white couple who came after us while we were leaving. I didn’t want to say anything so I left. Today this manager crossed the line. I went in again to give this place another chance under the new manager. I was with my daughter and my niece. My niece’s hands had chocolate on them so she grabbed a napkin from one of the tables and started wiping her hands. This manager immediately started staring at her and gave my niece ugly looks as if she was stealing stuff. So I immediately called her out and asked why was she giving ugly looks to a kid and staring constantly like shes stealing and her response was ‘she should ask before grabbing a napkin’ and agreed that she thought they were stealing napkins. Really ? This is the first time im hearing that people need to ask before getting napkin from the table where you went to dine in. She has a horrible attitude if you are a little darker and thinks of you as below her. I don’t see her giving the same energy to white people for some reason. I will never go back. Oh and yes, this time we reached at 8 and again she said its late to dine in. Its such a shame that this restaurant has turned into this. I miss the old manager.

The food was amazing, I ordered the lentil stew with lime and the choice of lamb. Good service, nice atmosphere, plenty of seating in the restaurant. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes. These are two of the lower priced dishes, great for everyone to choose. A hidden gem!

Very, very delicious koobideh! I order a take out from time to time and I can never get sick of it! I haven't dined in yet, but I would love to in the near future as the restaurant has a very mystic Middle Eastern cultural vibe. The staff are always super friendly and it is very accessible and easy to park.

While the flavors at the restaurant were good/mediocre, I found the portion sizes to be rather small, especially considering the prices. It left me wishing for a more satisfying dining experience in terms of quantity for the cost.

I have now tried about 7 or 8 of their dishes. IMO, the Persian food is much better than the Greek food, even though prepared by the same chef. Could just be a recipe difference. Also, be prepared for multiple visits so you can try a variety of dishes because they have so many great choices.

Amazing experience here at Shish Kabab. We came here as a family of 7. I ordered the Vaziri (see picture), and it was so well presented. The beef abd chickeb was so moist and juicy. The service was outstanding and the food even better. Will defintly be coming back.

I am writing this review with disappointment regarding our recent experience with Shish Kabob Restaurant. Not only did they fail to uphold their verbal agreement for our takeout party, but they also overcharged us, despite the acceptable quality of their food. Our trust was shattered, and it is essential to share our unpleasant encounters with others. We contacted Shish Kabob Restaurant well in advance to arrange a takeout party for a special occasion. During the phone conversation, we discussed the specific details of our order, including the menu items, quantities, and agreed-upon pricing. The restaurant staff seemed accommodating and assured us they would fulfill our requests as discussed. On the day of the takeout party, we arrived to collect our order with high expectations, to our astonishment, we were handed a bill that was substantially higher than what we had agreed upon. The overcharging was unjustified, given that the quality of the food was acceptable, but not exceptional enough to warrant such a steep increase in pricing. Shish Kabob Restaurant's blatant disregard for our agreed-upon price only exacerbated our disappointment. As a result of this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Shish Kabob Restaurant to anyone, especially for special occasions or events. Their unreliability and unfair business practices have left a lasting negative impression. In conclusion, Shish Kabob Restaurant's failure to honour our verbal agreement for the takeout party and their overcharging have left us feeling deceived as customers. I sincerely hope that this review serves as a inform to others and encourages the restaurant to reevaluate its practices and prioritize customer satisfaction. --------------------------- In response to Restaurant: Thank you for your prompt response. However, I would like to clarify the situation regarding the agreed-upon quantity of appetizers. On our verbal contract, we requested 5 portions of appetizers ( then you kindly suggested that as a gift due to our previous deals, although your colleagues claimed they were not aware of this suggestion) then we said we would bring our own container. On the day of the event, without any further confirmation or discussion, the appetizers were filled with 10 portions (please be advised that as a customer, we have no idea how many portions the capacity of each container and it should be clarified by the restaurant, we didn’t request for more!! So not only did we not get 5 portions as a gift, we paid for 10) This exceeded our original agreement and led to the discrepancy. Nevertheless, it is important to honor the terms of the initial agreement to ensure a smooth and satisfactory experience for both parties. It is not professional behavior to threaten to sue in response to an polite opinion.

I don't like leaving negative reviews. But it's important for future customers to have realistic expectations. Service is good. Place is nice. BUT they might scam you! I ordered chicken wrap (it's a secret menu item). The chef put 2 bites of chicken on each end of the wrap, so you get chicken no matter which side you open the wrap from. The rest of the wrap was empty!! Just lettuce lettuce lettuce. I was shocked 😧 So, I ended up paying $12 for just lettuce and pita!

Delicious food, never fail to impress us always! Our server was absolutely the sweetest! Our favourite go-to for our Koobideh~ 100% will be returning, your loyal customers :)

Nice new location, a little further north than their previous one. A slightly smaller dining room. Food quality still very good with big portions. Had various kebabs and took some to go as well. Pictured was the take out order.

I had an amazing dining experience at Papas shishkabab. The ambiance was delightful, the staff was attentive, and the food was exceptional.
