I came here to get a lash lift from Hannah and it was just such a lovely experience! Hannah is great, the service was super chill and I almost fell asleep - that's how you know they've made it a really relaxing environment. I'd never had a lash lift before, but it was a really great and I'd refer everyone to do it!

Kristy did an excellent job when I wanted a transformation from medium length hair to neck-length. She is friendly and approachable, listened well to what I wanted and also suggested tweaks so that the haircut complemented my face. Thanks Kristy!

I absolutely do not recommend this salon, here’s why: While some of the stylists here are great, unfortunately some, including the owner, aren’t so lovely. Last year I had a wedding to go to, and being terrible at planning I waited until the last minute to book a hair appointment. I needed some highlights, a trim, and to have a set of extensions blended in. Because it was so last minute, the stylist I wanted to see was booked, but since it is one of the nicer salons in the area I figured any stylist would be able to do what I needed, right? Wrong. (Also, they ask for a deposit before your appointment, big red flag) The appointment started with the stylist telling me about her lunch hadn’t gotten there yet and that she was starving. Great. She proceeds to put foils into my hair straight away, at a snails pace, without asking anything about my hair or its colour history. At no point did she ask about the extensions, and when I asked if she wanted to see them to get an idea of the colour we’re going for she said “that’s ok”. About an hour goes by and she’s still putting foils in my hair, at this point I’m concerned as my hair can’t really take bleach longer than 30 min, but I have trust in this salon at this point. This woman left the foils in my hair for 2 hours as she checked her food order and ate it. By the time she started taking the foils OUT the hair was coming out in chunks. At this point I’m visibly upset and uncomfortable, my mind is spiralling as this lady pulls my bleached wormy hairs off of my head. She brings me to the sink and starts off by putting purple shampoo in my hair. Anyone who knows anything about colour will know that my over processed hairs are going to sop up the purple colour, and I was going for a GOLDEN blonde. Now my hair is half gone and half purple. By the time my hair was dry it had been about 4 hours and there was no time for a cut or extensions. So she takes me over to the front desk….. to pay. That’s right, they already have my $150 deposit, and they want me to pay for the rest of the service after destroying my hair. I said no, I will come back and speak to the owner when she’s here and try to work something out. They told me the owner would be away for a week or so. I said ok and left in actual tears. The next day I get a call from the owner saying she heard about what had happened. When I asked if she could do anything to help me, she tells me “actually I’m going to ask you to not come back to this salon, as you made my stylist uncomfortable” (I was actually so nice about it despite being upset, accidents happen, people have bad days). I was floored, but also in the neighbourhood so I decided to pop in and show her the damage in person. She very rudely tried to tell me that the 2 inch chunks of hair coming out of my scalp with fried blonde tips were “baby hairs”, that she couldn’t see the blobs of bleached spots on my hairline, and said this wasn’t their fault and to go somewhere else. I left. Later that day she calls me and tells me that another stylist is willing to fix it but I’ll have to pay the remaining balance owed. At this point I don’t have time to go somewhere else so I go. She tries to fix the blotchiness but it doesn’t work. I ended up paying about $350 (never got that haircut or extensions blended) in total including tip, and ended up losing about 30% of my hair which is already quite thin, it’s also the wrong colour but that’s the least of my concern. I also had to spend $50 to fix the blotches MYSELF. and another $500 to have someone correct the colour a few months later. In all, yes, stylist make mistakes, but the way the salon handles the situation is what matters in the end. This salon treated me poorly as a customer and the owner herself handled the situation horribly. It’s hard to say about a local small woman owned business, but I sadly don’t recommend supporting In A Wink

I love my stylist here, Wendy. She cares so much, listens sincerely to my preferences and does an immaculate job. very professional and talented. the management skill insists on masks after Bonnie dropped the mandate even in clinical settings (allied health that don't treat sick clients but work in close proximity within an office). So that is a drawback but otherwise, I love the salon.

My stylist was Wendy and she was wonderful. I had originally wanted a silver balayage on my black hair, but after my consultation, I am glad that I changed my mind. Wendy was very knowledgeable and explained that my dark hair would require lots of processing for a silver balayage. To be sure, she even spent the time to take a strand of my hair for testing. I ended up going with a caramel money piece instead. Wendy knew that I wanted something low maintenance, so she recommended a shadow root. This was my first time colouring my hair in 10+ years and went with Wendy’s recommendation. A few days later, I came back to touch up the roots because the change was too much and I couldn’t get used to it. Wendy was so easy to deal with and booked me in for an appointment that day. She re-coloured my hair to my preference and I love it. On top on all that, my baby had decided that he wanted to be held throughout the entire appointment. Wendy was so accommodating and worked around my baby! My second appointment was almost as much work as the first one and to my surprise, she didn’t even charge me. Her customer service was outstanding - I highly recommend her.

Maryam provides a fantastic waxing experience, even going so far as to provide a gentle forehead massage. Definitely my new go-to for waxing.

I went here for a cut and style before a fancy work party. I appreciate the work the stylist did to make my hair look nice but it was a huge letdown - nothing like the multiple pictures I showed her and nothing I couldn't do at home for free. I've gone here a couple of times in the past and the staff are SO nice but the quality of the work is sub par for the style that I'm going for.

Booked an appointment for a haircut and toner. I was not informed on the phone that the stylist (Bridget) was a student. She quoted me 60$ for the haircut?! That price seemed really high for a student. I ended up not getting the haircut. I asked for her professional opinion for the toner and she didn't know what to do so I had to pick the color. And the blow-dry took forever and it looked poofy on the bottom and flat on top. Worst hairstyle I've ever received at a salon. 80$ later for a bad experience.
