Great beach! Much less busy than Jericho or Kits beach during peak times. Lovely spot to watch sunsets. It's kind of a Jericho 2.0!

Beautiful stunning views of the water and English Bay! Great place to get out for a walk along the beach or on the trails. There are multiple public washrooms available around the park. Picnic tables, playgrounds, volleyball courts, and tennis courts. Ample parking. Wheelchair accessible parking. Wheelchair accessible washrooms. Kid friendly and fun for the whole family to enjoy! Bring your camera to capture the beautiful sunset or sunrise over the water!

A wonderful beach with a fascinating scenery: blue mountain background, open water, dark red anchored cargoes, sauntering and hovering seagulls, crescent shore lines, waves patting the sandy shore and rocks, and a cluster of downtown high rise buildings in distance. Enchantingly, people join into this picturesque scenery on sunny days: they play volleyballs, picnic, walk, fly kites, train the dog, ride bicycles . . . Those with lovers even add romance to the beautiful scene!

Wonderful beach. Lots of beach volleyball games and cyclists. Picnic tables thruout and the views are incredible!! I believe there is food available in the summer. Big freight ships, mountain views and gorgeous sunsets. A definite must to visit.

Rainy day but still beautiful! Awesome view at Vancouver skyline, great spot to watch all colors of sunset on the water. Relaxing sounds of waves. A lot of sea shells, logs to sit on. A great place to take a break and recharge batteries!

Easy parking locations along NW Marine Drive Road and we parked in the very available Trimble Street Parking Lot on Locarno Beach location..there are wide open vistas in every direction, especially viewing the North Shore Mountains and Downtown Vancouver..today was special as it was New Years Day 2022..ankle deep snow was everywhere…we were among the many individuals enjoying this very vibrant January 1, 2022 day..some young and energetic individuals were enjoying the Polar Bear Swim yearly event…I remember the acceleration I felt in this swim many years ago as I reached the very cold water and retreated a towel and warm clothing..

a beach with magnificent views near the British Columbia University. There is leisure nearby such as restaurants or bars, in addition to being a good place to meet up with friends. It is one of my favorite beaches in Vamcouver.

The best sand beach I like this place because I'm able to play soccer on that beach with no worries of any rock or anything that can harm my barefoot... βš½οΈπŸ™ŒπŸ½

Such a gorgeous beach! One of the very few that has what feels like real sand between your toes, not just a pebbley and gritty mess. It was waaayyy too busy when I went, I think there was some sort of Volleyball event going on. But the beach is big enough that you can get away from that area and go to the quieter side to enjoy a peaceful time. There are some logs you can sit on. I personally enjoyed walking bare feet alongside the water edge, it was so serene. Will be back for sure!

A popular attraction in Vancouver, next to the famous Spanish Beach

Bit dusty due to all the nearby volleyball playing but it's a great beach with lots of space and good sunset-behind-mountains view. There's also tons of picnic table areas if needed, and a lifeguard up to (I think around 8:30pm).

As a local in Vancouver, I have to say that Locarno Beach is one of my favorite spots to visit. With its long sandy shoreline and clear waters, it's a popular destination for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The beach also offers amazing views of the city and the North Shore mountains, and the sunsets are simply fantastic. I've been to the beach several times and the convenient location and ample parking always make for an easy and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend checking out Locarno Beach for anyone looking for a beautiful beach day in Vancouver, especially during sunset

What's not to like? Wide beach, picnic area, can take long walks, bike, jog and beautiful view of mountains. Close to ubc so can take a drive there as well. Highly recommend for visitors and locals. Free parking

Not too busy. Sand is a little rocky. Lots of seaweed on the shore. Not very good for swimming. Beautiful view.
