Here's the info I wish someone had written before I went. So I just did the hike. Yes, the trail is technically closed but dozens did it the time I was there. I accessed it from Quarry Rock Trail which is just past Panorama Park. There is some blue construction fencing blocking the start of the trail but don't let that stop you. You just go up to the nice orange house beside the trail and you can still skootch around the fence without too much trouble to get to the trail (if the owners aren't outside). You just have to bend a little. Then walk to the stairs and start hiking. The trail isn't in perfect shape - there's a few broken stairs with dirt on them and a small broken bridge - but who cares? You're there to hike! It's really no problem. So don't let the fact that as you pull into town a sign says the trail is closed, stop you. You can still do it. Many do. The view once you get to Quarry Rock is stunningly beautiful. It's well worth the up and down hike. Oh, and don't even think about starting the trail near the end of Panorama Drive like Google Maps shows you could do. You can't. I wasted my time walking in the broiling heat thinking I could. It's on private property with a big metal, electric gate you're not getting around. There might even be a guard in the guard house. I didn't check. So just do the hike from the Quarry Rock Trail start point described above and walk along the Baden-Powell trail until you get to Quarry Rock. You're welcome!

Easy hike with my pet hedgehogs (domestic, not wild). They had a fun time meeting other people as well. Photos taken in 2018 and 2019.

Looked online and it said the trail was closed but came down to check it out for myself. It's CLOSED till further notice. Always nice to still come for a walk around and grab a bite. They closed the road off with patio style eating so it's very quiet. Nice vibe. Date today September 16, 2020.

I went for a hike with a friend yesterday and I saw this incredibly cute girl wearing a Vans x Nat Geo shirt and a gray Herschel bag, I wanted to talk to her but didn’t want to bother at the same time. I felt a connection and would love to meet her. I know this probably won’t get me nowhere but it doesn’t cost to try. Cute sweet hiker, if you see this, hit me up :) #missedconnection

So this whole hike is quite nice but accessing it is a bit difficult at the bottom, other than that it’s a very enjoyable hike. There’s stairs and a very well marked well mountained, I mean, maintained* trail. The view is also very worth the hike, on weekends or holidays the rock is fairly busy but there’s still some spots to be. For those who don’t like hikes as much there is also a road above the rock where you can hike down from which is still kind of fun (did not intend to find this out so yeah). I would definitely recommend doing this hike especially because if you’re googling this you don’t get out enough because this should’ve been the first thing you did ever.

Very busy trail - had to wait 5 minutes for parking at Panorama park. Don’t bother going past park to find closer parking because it’s for residents only. Easy access to trailhead, just follow the signs. Beautifully maintained trail with plenty of boardwalk and footbridge to entertain everyone. Takes about 30-35 minutes to reach summit that was packed on a Tuesday noon hike. Please be careful if you’re bringing little ones or small pets because summit is wide open and dangerously steep. Easy to lose foothold and fall - which would result in broken bones or death. This will also close the trail again. Last but not least pack out your garbage, saw so many along the trail.

Beauitful view at the end of the hike. A bit of a stair climb up but nevertheless a rewarding time. If you're a beginner hiker I would say this would be a perfect hike to challenge yourself. It's only about a 45 minute to 1 hour hike depending on your speed. I haven't hiked for awhile so I found it a bit of a sweaty one 😅.

We started the hike from Mt Seymour Rd where Baden Powell trail starts. There are few free parking spots. It's an easy and not too long hike . Less than 5km. You'll get the outstanding view of deep cove by the end of the trail.

One of the most amazing places I’ve been for hiking! The view and the breeze from the top is mesmerizing. This place is a definite go to In You visit Canada! One of the greatest tourist attraction sites. It is dog friendly too. Saw many people bringing their pets. You can watch the view all day long!

Tried this hike after the years long closure, it had new stair ways and paths making it an even easier hike. It's a quick, short uphill climb with great views and not a lot of work. Considered easy but I think the sign said intermediate, it's completely doable with little kids. There are bridges and lots of water to see along the way, very scenic and height seems minimal when hiking!

Pretty easy hike that anyone can do. Not overly long either. Enjoyable I would say. The view is good. Good exercise for anyone. I do it every year.

Why gym? The best work out in the nature! Height on rock 123m, trail elevation gain 194m. 4 kms round trip in mountain forests. Pure fresh air! Outside trail head is charming and beautiful deep cove :)

If you're looking for a fun and rewarding hike in the Vancouver area, Quarry Rock is a must-visit! This popular trail is now open to the public again after repairs, so you can enjoy the stunning views without any interruptions. The trail is easy to navigate and won't take up too much of your time - only about 40 minutes to reach the top! But don't let the ease of the trail fool you, because the views from the summit are absolutely breathtaking. You'll be surrounded by gorgeous scenery that's sure to leave you in awe. So whether you're a seasoned hiker or just starting out, Quarry Rock is a fantastic destination for all. Lace up your hiking boots, head out on the trail, and prepare to be blown away by the natural beauty of Quarry Rock! The negative side of this trial: it can get too busy during the holidays, I usually go on a Friday morning and It is not busy at all.

If you are new in Vancouver and looking for a place to visit for a leisure activity then you must visit Quary rock hike. It is located in north Vancouver. You can go by your own vehicle or by public transport. You need to take bus which you can get after reaching waterfront station. It will take 40mins to reach there. It's a beautiful place with scenic views and before the Quary rock you will also get the Deep cove park. This is easy hike and hardly takes 30-40minutes. Views are awesome once you reach on the top.

Supposedly an easy hike but be prepared because it's uphill for the most part. Well maintained trail. Rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Indian Arm and Belcarra Mountains. Parking is very challengiing. Arrived before 10am on Canada Day, everywhere was full! Be careful where you park, some spots require permit. Read the sign.

A nice hiking trail in the city - you don’t need to drive 2 hours and there is a well-maintained washroom near trail head. The trail is quite busy and dogs are allowed off leash. Parking is hard to find if you don’t arrive early.

North van staple! Such a pretty view for a beginner hike. The hike is half stairs and half flat/rocks. There are some parts that you need to walk single file, but most parts are spacious enough where people can pass. On the warmer days and weekend parking is tricky and a bit limited. Plan accordingly! I definitely recommend this hike if your looking for a hike that is easy with a rewarding view!

This review is catered towards dog owners hoping to take their pup on a hike Quarry Rock. Read more… Popularity: 5/5 Quarry rock is a very popular hike and well known for its view of the Indian Arm. There are a number of different trails that can be used to reach Quarry rock, some shorter and easier and others longer and more difficult. The easier more direct trails can get very crowded during the summer months which can make it difficult to manage when hiking with a dog especially if you have a young energetic pup. Quarry rock itself (the viewpoint) is also usually quite crowded during summer and it can be difficult to find a spot to relax and enjoy the view. Activities: 3/5 Other than hiking through the forest and enjoying the view on Quarry rock, there aren’t really any other activities for you and your pup to enjoy on this hike. Dogs are allowed off leash. Views: 4/5 Quarry rock offers a nice view of the Indian Arm and of Belcarra on the other side. It’s not super impressive but not bad considering the short length and relative ease of the hike. Comfort: 2/5 Not many good resting spots during the hike and due to the popularity of the hike, it’s usually difficult to find a comfortable place to relax at the and enjoy the view while at the viewpoint. Safety: 4/5 The popularity of the hike makes it very safe and also makes it very unlikely for you to get lost. However, the viewpoint is unfenced and surrounded by cliffs so you may want to leash your dog if he or she is not careful around heights. Accessibility: 3/5 There are multiple trailheads that can be used to reach Quarry rock and all are easy to get to by car. I started at the trailhead on Indian River Dr and there was a number of spots on the side of the road for parking. Quarry rock itself is only accessible to those who are able to hike. Some sections of the hike can get quite steep and there are stairs and boardwalks in some areas. There are no scrambles on the hike. Overall this is not a hike I would recommend for people who are looking for a fun off leash adventure with their pup. The crowded trails and viewpoint can make it difficult for those with a young energetic dog and the view while nice, is not impressive. There is also a lack of other activities to do with your dog on this hike. It’s a place worth visiting once to check out the view, but there are other more interesting hikes with much better views to explore in North Vancouver.

Amazing hike, lots of little bridges with water falls. Was getting dark later on but with the fog it looked beautiful

Started the hike from the bus stop. It's a relatively doable 1hour+hike up to the quarry rock. It's a mixture of some soiled tracks with wooden stairs, so be sure to wear proper covered shoes in case of muddy terrains due to rainy weather. The view is awesome at the quarry rock. Took less time when hiking down back to catch the bus.

It's perhaps the busiest trail in Metro Vancouver. It was perfect, except for some people blaring music from their speakers. There are a lot of stairs along the way. And also several creeks with bridges. The view at the end is gorgeous. But if you want just the view without the hike, go to Burnaby Mountain.

Though the trail is marked as closed, it was still easily hike-able and we saw hikers of all ages hiking up as well. we came on a weekday around noon and there wasn’t too many people; however, expect to wait for parking spot at panaroma park! The view at the top was beautiful, and the hike is very accessible for beginner hikers. I’d recommend shoes with ankle support if you’re prone to rolling your ankle.

Awesome hike in an awesome community! Amazing views and experiences! Friendly hikers and public washrooms near the cove. Make sure to bring water and there are steep inclines and declines. You will break a sweat! Can't wait for it to be open again! Love the spot and most other locals do to!

Very nice hike. Amazing views. Parking lot is the only issue. They are super busy on weekends and specially on hot summer days. People come here for hiking, daytime picnic and swimming, that’s when it becomes a chaos with parking. Otherwise is a very nice area and close to downtown.

Nice easy hike with a gorgeous view to enjoy at the end of the trail. It’s recommended to avoid the peak hours to enjoy the quietness and beauty of the trail as it can get very busy. Not challenging but there’re some slippery sections so proper footwear is still recommended. Please respect the neighborhood near the entrance to the trail, and take your garbage with you when you leave. Very sad to see lots of litters at the top.

Don’t go. Stop going there, there’s lots of other trails. The trail has been closed for some time now. Hearing that articles/posts are being shared about this trail - it’s very clearly marked closed and not safe for people who aren’t familiar with the area and terrain.

Relatively easy hike with amazing view at the top. Its can get really crowded and some visible trash that people dump on the trails. Come early in the morning so they're will be lesser crowd. Some vandals on you see on the way.

Review for Quarry Rock (starting point along Panorama Drive just beyond the park area). Quarry Rock is one of our favourite hikes as it's great for people who want to go solo, beginner hikers, people to go with their pets, or with families. The views are speculator on a nice day. Be careful with your phones though as we've seen lots of people lose them as it gets steep fast. Exercise caution and have a great time!

One of the most enjoyable and rewarding hikes in BC. It would take less than an hour to finish the hike and you will get a mesmerizing view of the water & forest at the top. If you are a pet owner, it’s a good hike for dogs as well.

It was quite nice trail but it is full of stairs. Go get access to this trail you should go from 2505 panorama drive. You have to park your car in a park near this address. Because you will not find any parking on the street. View is nice and there is no washroom or access to drinkable water except some small waterfalls. Wish you a good journey 😅😅
