I
went
to
this
Canadian
Tire
auto
shop
for
auto
service
mainly
because
it's
close
to
where
I
live.
Back
in
May
2022,
my
car's
engine
light
was
on
so
I
took
the
car
to
the
shop.
They
told
me
it
was
faulty
engine
oxygen
sensor
and
got
a
quote
of
$390.
Later
on,
got
a
text
from
'manager'
Scott
saying
the
cost
of
the
repair
is
$530.
I
told
him
the
quote
was
$390
then
he
backtracked
that
he
got
it
wrong.
Engine
light
issue
was
fixed.
Mid-July
I
went
back
for
a
basic
oil
change
service.
Few
days
later,
while
driving,
the
brake
started
failing.
I
brought
the
car
to
the
shop,
I
was
told
it
was
leaking
brake
fluid
hose
and
they
did
notice
some
leakage
when
they
did
the
basic
oil
change
service
but
didn't
tell
me
about
it.
They
said
if
I
leave
the
car
in
the
shop,
they
would
get
to
it
when
they
can.
A
week
later,
they
finally
texted
me
saying
they
can
fix
the
brake
issue.
When
I
went
to
pick
up
the
car
and
paid
for
the
service
($340),
the
car
engine
sounded
rattled
and
engine
light
was
on
again.
Went
back
in
the
shop
and
talked
to
Peter
then
again
'manager'
Scott'.
They
said
they
did
notice
the
engine
light
was
on
when
they
tested
the
car
after
the
brake
fix.
Of
course
again
no
one
told
me
about
that
when
I
picked
up
the
car.
I
asked
why
the
engine
of
my
car
suddenly
having
issues,
they
said
that
I
have
an
old
car.
They
didn't
do
anything
to
the
engine
and
'they
are
not
that
type
of
shop
scamming
customers'.
They
wanted
to
charge
me
$140
to
diagnose
the
problem.
I
told
them
I
will
never
use
them
again
and
walked
out.
What
a
nightmare!
I
don't
think
they
are
competent
professionals.
They
are
rude
and
definitely
not
helpful.
I'd
suggest
anyone
considering
using
their
service
to
think
again.
You
may
end
up
in
the
nightmare
situation
as
I
did.
