This was a tough one for me. Being it was my first time eating here I’m hoping my experience was a fluke. Wait staff was terrible. Once my food was delivered the waiter never returned! No refills and no bill. I had to walk up to the register to see about paying my tab. My breakfast was very good and I highly recommend getting the hippie hash browns. Both salt and pepper shakers were close to empty and the ketchup bottle was also close to empty so this made me think their no attention towards their condiments. Odds are I will not return. Fleetwood got my one shot and overall I say it was a miss opportunity for a 5 star review.

January 6, 2024 3:45pm minus a star 4/5 stars based on experience today Okay, I had to come here to update my review. I ordered online for the first time, since my family didn't have time to come in to eat. Forgive the following rant. After asking for my order, the girl said it was the online order. I was then bombarded by the staff multiple times asking "why didn't you tip us?". At first I didn't understand what was going on, but clearly he was repeatedly asking about a tip. FYI, when entering the order online, it immediately totals and goes to Google pay. It does not prompt you to enter a tip. Plus, tips are earned, not a given, whether it's dining in or carry out. Next just because a customer does not leave a tip online does not mean that they won't tip you in cash, which is often preferred by servers, since I grew up in the restaurant business. At first I wasn't sure if they were joking, but then I felt offended after I left. This is not how you speak to a regular customer. I ended up leaving a cash tip for less than I normally would have, which not deserved after this encounter. I did not find this situation funny. 2023 Gyro hippie hash is a must! Iconic Ann Arbor spot to grab food, whether after the bar at night, or really any time of day when you just want some good dinner eats 😋.

Great atmosphere, simply delicious food! If you’re in Ann Arbor you have to make time for this one!

Not a super great diner, but definitely worth trying, especially if you want to experience a humble presentation of American breakfast. Taste was not bad at all, but bit overpriced for what it is worth.

Went here late night for drunk food (because the food is not good enough to eat sober- it’s mediocre at best) and we had the worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. They were so rude to us and we ended up getting takeout because we felt we were not at all welcomed. It was really disappointing. EDIT: went here again (not by choice) for my friends birthday and had to use the restroom and had a horrible experience in the restroom even. So dirty and gross. In the basement and was super hard to find- someone had to tell me how to get there (a customer bc the staff is useless). This might be the worst place I’ve ever dined and that is saying a lot because I am not picky

Fleetwood is a blue collar diner with an authentic feel. The owner and his son are working the small kitchen. The food is fantastic and portions large enough to fill a lumberjack. I'm visiting from out of town but would definitely visit this Fleetwoods on my return.

I ordered 6 eggs and toast through doordash and proceeded to get 2-3 eggs. I paid over twenty bucks for a couple eggs and some toast. When I called to inquire why the order was so light, they simply said it was doordash’s fault. They clearly ripped me off and then refused to correct the situation. Avoid this place at all costs. Fleetwood Diner’s customer service is horrendous.

Great spot for late night visits to AA. Love coming here after nights at The Ark. Food is traditional diner fair (the chicken tenders are good), but the atmosphere adds so much to the experience.

Excellent food, great place for brunch. Very reasonable prices. Quite crowded on weekends so make sure to get there early or you'll be sitting outside next to a busy street.

Welp!! So last time I had a burger was from right next door. I had some time before work so I came in. I got the bacon cheeseburger. I added an extra patty. Was I impressed?? After blimpy gave me dismal hopes. I definitely was. The burger was cooked beautifully. I am definitely a fan bc of it and the service. Will be back to try more stuff.

Actually pretty surprised with this spot! Was expecting 3/5 for mediocre food/service, but service was really fast and the food was better that I would think for the price. And I didn’t even come here for what they are known for - breakfast. Looking forward to coming back. It’s still not amazing (nothing really unique is on the menu) - but it’s a really quality diner in its own right and keeps the prices low-ish. I recommend you check it out.

Fleetwood Diner is an Ann Arbor experience. Expect fast and down to business service, quirky vibes, and dependable food. First timers have to get the Hippie Hash - hash browns with onions and some veggies, served with eggs and toast. Come early on weekend mornings to skip the rush or order take out because there’s limited seating!

First time here—33 years after graduating from Michigan! Now wishing I could go back in time and enjoy the hippie hash again and again! They are so good. Can’t wait to go back!

A cozy little diner from the 1940's open 24/7. The vibe is unlike most places I've ever been to, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good steak and eggs. My only complaint with the establishment was a minimum 25% tip. The staff was beyond excellent, and deserve more than what they are being currently paid.

Waiter was a attentive young man 18 - 23 looking, who seemed to enjoy his job. He suggested the Rueben sandwich and the Gyro which my cousin ordered. Cooks were happy and smiling. Bathroom was clean. The waiter and our food was amazing . Really genuine and enthusiastic customer service provided by our waiter. And he was busy.

The ultimate simple diner. Server was great, food came out very fast, good prices, and the food was perfect. Exactly what we needed after a long drive

This is an unfair, unbalanced and bias review. I used to come here for breakfast after working all night while running a small tech company. What's there not to love? Also this visit reminded me to check my MySpace account to see if I havr any new friends.

Okay food, but clearly, the manager did not train their employees well. Service was slow and kinda rude. Went directly into another customer who arrived behind me and had me waited for another while. Mandated tip from a blonde hair lady who checked me out around 12-12:30am on 12/27, Monday midnight. Said she’s living on tips, and I’ll be unwelcome to come back if not giving tip. So, I can probably say that the business owner barely pay their employees decently. Improper practices. Hard on students and whoever not having a stable job on the table. Tiny space, even though it’s the stickers all over the walls, the real hippie and noisy atmosphere attracted me for a late night dinner at the 24 hour restaurant. It’s still an unfavorable place. Well, note down—if you enjoy the late night hippie vibe to a most, always having friends around to waste time with, love tiny congested space and ready to tip, then it’s your place.

We drive an hour, two hours in total, to eat here. Food is always a hit every time and we just love it. We leave it for special occasions or if we just feel like we could use the pick me up. But the waiters, the cooks, everybody is so welcoming and nice. Def recommend for anybody passing by or to satisfy those late night cravings

My mother in law have been here twice now. Food was fantastic and affordable, presumably because of it's college campus location. They are also open 24 hours, so I imagine that they would be a great spot to hit if you are out late and craving a burger or breakfast, even. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I love the aesthetic with the stickers all over. I was a bit bummed that I forgot to bring one along for our most recent trip. I feel like we will return if we have another medical trip, since we reside further north.

I was looking for a breakfast joint. I found this place on Google. The dish everyone talked about was Hippie Hash. It did not disappoint! Hash browns with onions , green and red peppers, broccoli all topped with creamy feta cheese. Portions are generous ,delicious and filling. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We never had to ask for a refill. Decor is interesting. Walls are emblazoned with all types of stickers; from political to businesses to bands. Music is heavy on 60s and 70s but I caught a modern country song in the mix.

I totally love that I have started coming here again! I hadn't been here since childhood til last week. Now I am going to be a weekly customer! The waitresses are very friendly and the cooks are excellent. And the sous chef is a very nice man! Not to mention the great food that are large portions. I eat half when i get it and half later. Thanks to everyone at Fleetwood for still being an awesome friendly welcoming place w wonderful food!

Food was good, but prepare yourself for a bit of a wait if you go at a busy time. This is an Ann Arbor institution. Glad they are making it through the pandemic.

Solid little diner downtown, not far from the UM big house. We actually intended on going to the burger place next door that was for some inexplicable reason, closed at 11 am on a weekend. Your loss dudes, and we were not at all unhappy with what we ate here. A great bacon burger and their chicken sandwich beats Chick Fil A hands down. It is small and a bit, uh, cozy inside (there is patio seating too) but the service was excellent, food came out quickly, hot and fresh. Worth a visit if in Ann Arbor.

Have been going to the Fleetwood since the 70's. Absolutely perfect "Diner experience". A truly eclectic, unprepossessing 24 hour gathering place for all. The fare is good (Hippie Hash selections are notable), well-priced and reasonably quickly prepared. Be ready for a warm, at times elbow to elbow experience with folks ready to chat.

I don't usually write reviews, but this place is amazing. The Meaty Hippie Hash is stellar. The choice of music is wonderful. The atmosphere was amazing, and it was very cool to look around at all the stickers located inside and outside the diner. Fast and excellent service. Food was filling, well priced, and most of all, delicious. If I happen to pass through Ann Arbor again, I will be stopping by. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast.

Ok, The Fleetwood is an Ann Arbor original classic. There is now much improved outdoor seating. Although it is one of my favorite breakfast places, I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars, so people understand it is not a fancy fine dining place; just my kinda place.

Are you serious? This place has a rating of 4.3 out of 5, but I would rate it a 0! It's extremely unsanitary. The person preparing food doesn't wear gloves. When I tried to take a photo of the dirty kitchen, they prohibited me from doing so. The food here is absolutely disgusting. French fries and chicken cooked in old oil. It's the worst place I've had chicken in USA. Please, do not go there.
