The food at Karavalli has been the most authentic coastal cuisine you can taste in Bengaluru. There is outdoor seating arrangement here. We had tried attirachy ularthi, neychoru, appam and meen pollichathu. All the dishes were really tasty.

I had mixed feeling before going for this place. But I was happy to choose this place for my special occasion dinner. The ambience is good, you have open as well as closed dinning area. I went there on weekday so there was not much rush, but if you are going on weekends then a reservation is a must here. The servers here will help you with the order and portions. we tried Prawns ghee roast in the starters, which was the show stopper for us. Only thing which worried me was the price for the given portion of prawns. If you dont like/eat prawns, then you can go for Attirachy Ularthu which is a lamb dish. It was cooked very beautifully. Karavalli is a high-end restaurant serving cuisine from the West coast of India in a refined setting. Seafood plays a major role in the cooking along the coast, and we tried the Kane Kaidina (whole lady fish) and the Malvani Surmai (seer fish steak), both of which were covered in a red spice paste and shallow-fried. I also got the Mangalorean Fish Curry, which came with sliced white pomfret fish in a spiced coconut curry, which went nicely with the thin neer dosa and fluffy appam we ordered on the side. On the table came more accompaniments including rasam, tomato and coconut chutneys, papad, crunchy rings, and pickle, and everything was presented beautifully and served on a banana leaf. What a delicious seafood meal!

You'd be hard pressed to find a better South Indian fine dining experience in India let alone Bangalore. What I enjoyed most about the food at Karavalli is the authenticity. They didn't back away from the spices and the depth of flavour that's required to create this kind of cuisine. We had a variety of dishes and each one of them was wonderful as were all the accompaniments. Special mention needs to go to the service at Karavalli which is really great. We had Uday as our host and he was extremely knowledgable about the menu and gave great recommendations and was excellent throughout. Karavalli is a must visit and deserves its legendary status.

Thoroughly satisfied with this place. Absolutely outstanding. Everything was top-notch. The food, ambience, service, everything was absolutely fantastic. The place has got an indoor as well as outdoor seating area, we made ourselves comfortable outdoors. the seating is in a garden which has a stream running and has a lot of greenery around. Brilliant setting it is For food we first ordered a crab Milangu fry, Tiger Prawns roast and coorg chicken fry. All these dishes tasted out of the world and were fantastic. The crab is cooked in a south Indian spicy pepper masala which gives it a scintillating taste. Tiger prawns roast has big pieces of tiger prawns roasted in traditional spices, While coorg chicken fry has chunks of boneless chicken cooked in a spicy masala and tastes incredible. We further ordered a few more starters like camaro con cilantro, kane bezule and chicken ghee roast. Camaro con cilantro is basically spicy prawns which tastes scrumptious. Kane bezule is whole lady fish pan cooked in mangalorean spices. tastes delightful. While chicken ghee roast has big chunks of boneless chicken cooked in ghee and spices. You get a strong flavour of ghee and tastes delectable. For desert we ordered a bebinca and dodol. Both these dishes were unique and I had them for the first time ever. Bebinca has a scoop of ice cream served with jaggery based payasam and a goan style pudding. Tastes heavenly. Dodol also has a scoop of ice cream served with a chocolate and jaggery based rice cake. MOUTHWATERING. Service also was top-notch and we were taken extremely good care of by a team comprising of Vinoth, Sunder and Kiran. Thanks to these guys for making our evening a memorable one.

Walked in not knowing what to expect. The staff was very helpful in understanding my likes and suggesting a full course meal, that made the experience a memorable one. The ambiance was great and fits both professional and family groups. The flavors of the dishes were both authentic and amazing.

I was really looking forward to this place but it was quite an underwhelming experience. 4 stars for the food, 3 stars for service. The highlights- kori gassi with kori roti, pathrawade, prawn ghee roast and the complimentary rasam. The lowlights- Service could be so much better. We asked for menus. We asked for someone to come take the order. We asked someone to light the mosquito incense stick multiple times. Not once did someone come and check in on us or ask if we wanted something, or if we are ready to order. Skip the mushroom curry and the chicken curry- no flavors, just spicy. Overall the place is a hit or a miss. The flavors are pretty toned down, and lacks the punch. For the $$$$ you are paying this place is not worth it. One less star for the mosquitoes- this place is infested. We were being eaten alive throughout dinner.

We went out on planned dinner with the family. This is our first visit to the restaurant, server was the kindest to us. Special thanks to you server! He seated us at a comfortable table and also made hand-made cocktails and snacks for Ram (my friend) and I! Revisited My favorite restaurant of all time again after a long time. The staff made us feel just as welcome as were on day one. Chef Ram basically blew us away with the absolute culinary delights that their dishes are know for. If you haven't been here yet, make it a MUST in 2022. You owe yourself and your palate this gift!! We also had a special request since we were celebrating a birthday and they spared no effort in making sure it was celebrated fabulously as well. They arranged a cake for us and even hoisted this beautiful umbrella to give it that extra oomph. Last but most definitely not the least were the efforts put forth from Vinoth, Anthony, Kiran and Boopathi to make this a lunch to remember. Thank you for making our day!!! I found the food average—very mild flavors. All of the dishes were suggested by the staff. So overall, it was just an overpriced restaurant with average food. If I revisit the place, I'll try something else and see if it's good. The ambiance was okay inside. Very generic. The outer area was good because I like greenery.

Great place for a meal. We booked online and got a table in the lovely mosquito free garden. Starters were really nice especially the prawns recommended by our server. All the food was served hot and at the right level of spice. Service was good and we really enjoyed our evening.

Since I went to pick up take away the food I ordered. I could not enjoy dine in. The neer dosa and malbar parrots was excellent .I sold mention that the packing was good. They have packed the neer dosa ( 2 portions - 4 pieces for a portion) nicely in banana leaf. The vegetables made out of pickled mango was tangy and seem to have added more jaggery.the best part is Garlic and chilli pickle. It was awesome. Both garlic and chilli roasted and dipped in vinegar and it was very nice

Always a pleasure to come in this restaurant. I have been here multiple time with foreign colleagues to discover the greatest food of India. Service is professional and efficient. Multiple choice on the menu in terms of drinks and food (chili mocktail is yummy). All the foods tried were very well executed and very tasty. I will definitely come back

Visited Karavalli recently. After seeing many positive reviews we went to this restaurant. Ambience is very good. Lively atmosphere. Service provided by the staff is polite at the beginning. One of the staff entitled to us was behaving like he is doing favor for serving us. He was telling that he kept those things for us otherwise it would've got finished. Felt bit irritating by this behavior. We have ordered one Coastal Thali and one non veg Thali and one veg Thali as we wanted to taste all the types. Food is very average for the quantity and taste they serve, but overpriced. During this corona pandemic there was no precautions taken during overall time except the watchman at the entrance thermo scan ur temperature and record it with your mobile number. Cutleries, utensils are kept open. They served us cold food. At the end of the dinner they will compulsory make you to rate ur experience with 5 stars. Until u review with good ratings they will not generate the bill. At the end I came to know why it has given 5 star ratings though the food is very average. Never going to visit again!

Went there on the evening of 13th November for a birthday celebration. The restaurant had a total of 6 people at 8pm. The front guy (manager?) told us that the entire restaurant was fully booked and we had to leave as we didn’t have a reservation. The whole restaurant was empty! We felt insulted Tried calling the restaurant and they switched off their phone! Do you want customers? Super rude , never returning again

I had had lunch there on 27th Nov 22 with family. The kind of quality/taste of food that we get here for the cost is totally not worth. We had coastal food 1.Meen Saaru Pundi(Fish Meal) 2.Neer Dosa 3.Aripodi Nethly(Silver Fish Rava fry) 4.Mapla Chicken Biriyani Out of these 4 items , Fish Meal and Silver Fish rava fry were utter disgusting experience. Silver Fish fry was just delivered to us after following up many times.That too, just taken out from frozen condition and fried with no taste(cost is 1485 rupees.)Really felt very bad for it. Fish curry in Fish Meal was not up to the mark because the Fish(white promfet) was not absorbed with proper salt or spices and just mixed gravy(gravy alone was good). Chicken Biriyani was OK. Truly the only item which could enjoy was Fish gravy in of Fish Meal. Not at all worthy for the cost. Too much waiting time too(if atleast food was worth in taste, we can ignore it). Chef Ramachandiran is a true artist, the sensational flavors bring you back to the coasts of south India... other than the warm- hearty meal, The staff and Anthony treated us more like old friends... Karavalli was a beautiful experience, and I will definitely come back again!

The food is excellent and taste and flavors are as authentic as they can be. Same goes with the service. Mr. Bhoopathi was very resourceful in suggesting good options and pairing. The reason for 4 stars is because of spicy food and I had severe stomach issues later. I have a very sensitive stomach so cannot handle even the so called normal spices. Probably it would be great if low spice version was offered. I guess off the menu medium spice is available and high spice on request. Would I visit again.. for sure. Maybe this time I will stick to some non spicy food :)

Quite pricey but extremely good food and ambience. Do not visit unless you are ready to be set back by 8-10k rupees. But it will be money well spent. Specialized in South Indian and coastal delicacies.

The Karavalli experience is a combination of great food, great service and great ambiance. The menu is mouth-watering and the service is a cherry on top. Lunch experience is soothing in the middle of the day, in the middle of the busy bustling city. We were served by Bhupathy, who was wonderful and meticulous.

Safety : All staff wears masks, the tables are distanced and all precautions are being taken. Felt absolutely safe to dine in here. Food: It is clearly the best seafood I have ever had. I had Moplah Cheeman Biryani (Prawns Biryani) and I had tears of happiness. The prawns were perfectly cooked, not over or under, the quantity of prawns in rice was perfect and the rice itself was very very tasty. On another day, during the Aquafest where they have a special menu for seafood, I also had a platter - lady fish tawa fry, seer fish curry, appum and rice. I was extremely overwhelmed with the magic of this food. Staff : I obviously could not resist myself from requesting to meet the chef Ramchandran who has been here for 17 years. The taste in his food comes from his roots in Kerala and his very humble nature. Served by Uday, since I was dining alone, he adjusted the quantity and also the cost of the dish since a full dish is really big portion. The staff is very humble, knows their food very well and is extremely hospitable. The made me feel at home. Overall: This is a memory that is etched in my brain forever. I leave a little part of my heart at Karavalli. If heaven had a restaurant, it's name would be Karavalli!!

Had our anniversary dinner there. The staff was very helpful and organised the surprise dinner as requested. Mr. Antony helped us serve the lip smacking delicious food and staff was kind and thoughtful enough to organise a cake too. Truly a memorable experience. Loved it. And thank you again.

My mothers had a low sugar level, even without me having to ask them they quickly got her payasam (good people and humanity do exist). I will surely come back for them. We came here to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. The staff, Vinoth, Boopathi, Kiran and Uday were attentive, the service was prompt and good. Food was good. Also, all the safety precautions were taken for covid. They made it a memorable celebration for my parents.

Excellent sea food option. Loved the crab dish with malabar Paratha. Kerala style pepper chicken was finger licking tasty. Great ambiance and excellent service. Worth every penny paid!

We were treated to a delicious dinner and exceptional experience under the wise guidance of Uday (and Bhoopathi a little later in the night). I truly appreciate a server who will give honest advice regarding our choices for food and cocktails. He was also an excellent gauge of how to help us keep our eyes from getting much bigger than our stomachs. I had the Karavelli Sip for a drink and highly recommend it. The fish fry starter, mango chutney and shrimp chutney were all superb. Perfectly paired with the fresh appams. The outside dining area is refreshing and relaxing. Just mind the mosquitos (they brought us cream and lit some flames to help ward them off. Go for your next special occasion! You won’t be disappointed.

The service at Karavalli is impressive but the food quality has taken a bit of a beating from the earlier days. Kerala parotta was more oily than normal, the allepey fish curry sauce lacked the edge and the crab curry was more watery.

Came for lunch and had a fabulous time. The place is beautiful, well maintained and picturesque. Anthony, Ganesh and Boopathy were extremely welcoming and homely. They fed us well and saw that we had a good time. The food was extraordinary.

Have been wanting to visit this place for a while and the eve eventually arrived. Awesome food and very warm service from Vinoth, Uday and Kiran. Loved the ambience, nice, spacious and family friendly. Highly recommend for sea food. Planning to visit for lunch again in order to enjoy the outdoor seating. Keep it up team!

Food was good, service was great. The staff working their is very polite and you will definitely have a fine dining experience. You have options to sit inside or out. Do make the reservation one day earlier as they get booked quickly on the weekend.

A very cosy place for a lovely evening with your loved ones. Completely coastal cuisine the have kerala and mangalore style food. The cost is on the pricy side and everything is above 1000rs. The quantity is also small. But this place is a go to for a luxurious evening with the right amount of light. They have an outdoor and indoor seating. So its better to reserve the seat if u want to dine outdoors.

We enjoyed the truly delicious food and beautiful locale along with the thoughtful recommendations for what to try. The flavors were complex, fresh, and delicious - our only regret was that we did not have time to visit again during our trip!

It is a very beautiful place and you must visit this place for authentic South Indian food especially Coastal cuisine. The ambience is awesome and their service is prompt, without being intrusive. Multiple vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available, though we settled for veg dishes. The staff helped us in making our choices and we found the preparations were excellent!

I went to this restaurant with my family last night. Great ambiance both inside and outside. I ordered a lobster dish and the waiter, Uday suggested some modified version as I told him I didn’t want it too spicy hot. It was a winner. The amount of lobster that was served was good enough for more than one person. Plus it was extremely well prepared at a reasonable price. If you visit this restaurant, try the lobster with the special Konkani sauce. You will be glad, you did. Definitely a 5 star restaurant.

For an authentic seafood experience. Ambience is good as well. The setup and the attention from the waiters is great. Food takes a little while to be served. We went on a work-day night which meant lesser occupied tables which meant better service. Must try the sea food. Reminded me of good dining experiences in Kerela.

Portions are too small for the price one pays. The food is great though. Service is excellent and the singing of the frogs in the courtyard is fascinating.

Food is so great. Mostly of Malabar and Mangalore style. But when it comes to cost, this restaurant is not for middle class people. The cost is too high. For 2 people it costs around 4k. Apart from cost, the atmosphere and food is great.
