it would not be fair to say that the resort is good... I was just totally overwhelmed by everything you offer. The service of the staff was great, we also noticed that it wasn't the fake friendliness towards the customers, but you really have good-hearted people in your team. The rooms/villas are superbly furnished, everything was always clean and ready..... I didn't find a single thing to complain about during my stay.... on the contrary, the more time I spent there, the more I discovered and I always found it better than before... it's a real shame that we were only there for 2 nights, next time we go to Sri Lanka, Uga Ulagalla will definitely be there...

Eve though our stay was short, the resort hospitality was amazing. Special compliments to the chef, food was too better. Unfortunately we missed the traditional welcome due to heavy rain. Highly recommended.

A Tranquil Oasis: A One-Night Stay at Uga Ulagalla I recently had the pleasure of spending a night at the breathtaking Uga Ulagalla, and I must say, it was an experience beyond compare. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a sense of tranquility and luxury that left me spellbound. Situated amidst lush greenery and nestled within a 58-acre estate, this boutique hotel in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, truly offers an escape from the ordinary. Upon entering the premises, I was greeted by warm and attentive staff who ensured that every aspect of my stay was taken care of. The check-in process was swift and seamless, and I was immediately escorted to my private villa, which was nothing short of a masterpiece. With its rustic charm and modern comforts, the villa seamlessly blended with its natural surroundings, creating an atmosphere of serenity. The villa itself was incredibly spacious, featuring a separate living area, a luxurious bedroom, and a stunning bathroom. The attention to detail was evident throughout, with carefully curated furnishings, elegant décor, and an overall design that exuded both opulence and simplicity. The highlight was undoubtedly the private plunge pool, where I spent hours unwinding and immersing myself in the tranquility of the surroundings. One of the standout features of Uga Ulagalla is its commitment to sustainability and eco-friendliness. The property runs on solar power, and their efforts to preserve and protect the environment are commendable. It's refreshing to see a luxury resort take such measures to minimize its carbon footprint and promote responsible tourism. Dining at Uga Ulagalla was an absolute delight. The resort offers a range of culinary options, including an exquisite fine-dining restaurant and the option for private dining experiences. I indulged in a delectable array of local and international dishes, each meticulously prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate dietary preferences and ensure a memorable dining experience. Beyond the luxurious accommodations and exceptional dining, Uga Ulagalla offers a myriad of activities to cater to every interest. From exploring the surrounding paddy fields on a bullock cart ride to embarking on a nature trail or indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment, there's something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed taking a leisurely bicycle ride through the lush countryside, immersing myself in the natural beauty of the area. What truly sets Uga Ulagalla apart is the impeccable service and genuine warmth extended by the staff. Every member of the team went out of their way to ensure my comfort and satisfaction, and their genuine hospitality made me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay. In conclusion, my one-night stay at Uga Ulagalla was a remarkable experience that exceeded all expectations. The resort's commitment to sustainable luxury, combined with its serene surroundings, exceptional amenities, and outstanding service, make it a true gem in Sri Lanka's hospitality landscape. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat, Uga Ulagalla is an idyllic destination that promises an unforgettable stay. Here's a hand written note from my mother: "We had an enjoyable stay, food and service was excellent. The staff members were courteous and helpful. With so much of greenery and natural beauty and lakes, it is an ideal holiday location. Thank you all for giving us a lovely time"

Where to start… my wife and I originally planned on staying at Ula Ulagalla for 2 nights but we ended up extending our stay to 4 nights because the accommodation, service, staff, and the overall experience was remarkable. This was by far the best hotel accommodation we have ever stayed at. The food was phenomenal. The room was spacious and well kept. The private pool at our chalet was incredible. The list goes on and on and at the heart of the stay is an amazing staff. Stay here if you have the opportunity, you will not regret it!

Had a wonderful stay here. The foods are extremely delicious although they are not offering a buffet. The villas are located in calm environment with private pools. Enough space to stay comfortably. Each villa is provided with two bicycles to enjoy riding free of cost. Many leisure activities are arranged. Engaged in archery event. Superb experience and the instructor Mr. Rankoth was very friendly and gave his best to train within short period of time.

Staff and service: was definitely 10/10. Specially buggy drivers, they were amazing. Did their job perfectly. Location: was okay. Room: We booked a deluxe one bedroom villa, which on the website looks amazing but sadly it wasn’t as amazing as it is on the website. Our villa which was villa no.26 had a very poor view. Instead on the website it’s in the middle of the paddy fields. But in reality you see nothing but trees not even nice to see them. And then there’s no difference between the 1st category villas and the second category villas a part from the bath tub and one extra toilet. In my opinion not worth paying that much to get only these two things and these villas were too far from the main hall and restaurant. But if anyone looking for a calm, quiet and privacy then this villa is the best choice. Other than that I recommend to anyone who wants visit this hotel go for the cheaper one. Food: Sadly food quality was very low for the standard of this hotel. Only three course meal been served for people who are on BB, HB or FB basis. Dessert options were same for both lunch and dinner. Very few options of foods. A la carte menu prices were too high. Definitely needs to be improved. Specially for locals. The other thing is check the period before you travel if you wanna see the green. Because a week before our stay paddy fields been all harvested. So it was all dry and dull. The choice of this hotel was due to our last year visit to uga Chena huts. So our expectations might have been raised somewhat. All in all the hotel is okay but it’s disappointing and overpriced for what it is.

Uga Ulagalla Resort is a secluded luxury resort nestled in a lush green forest in the heart of Sri Lanka. We went there for our honeymoon and would recommend Ulagalla without hesitation to anyone. The staff went beyond their means to ensure our stay was memorable. We stayed at Ulagalla for 2 nights and it was without a doubt the best stay during our entire trip. The food is simply exquisite, and the service is impeccable. The staff at Uga Ulagalla Resort are incredibly friendly and attentive from the front desk to the buggy drivers. They go out of their way to ensure that guests have a truly memorable experience. In addition to its beautiful villas and delicious food, Uga Ulagalla Resort also offers a wide range of activities and amenities for guests to enjoy. We went on horse riding and enjoyed the experience thoroughly. If you are looking for a luxurious and relaxing vacation in Sri Lanka, Uga Ulagalla Resort is the perfect choice for you.

If you're searching for an exceptional hotel in the dry zone, look no further than this wonderful establishment. The rooms are simply marvelous and the service is truly amazing. This is easily one of the best five-star hotels in the area, with an outstanding ability to provide guests with a range of engaging outdoor activities that allow them to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding area. The hotel's restaurant offers a delectable three-course food menu served a la carte style, which adds to the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting this hotel for an unforgettable stay.

Loved the property. Love the rooms and most of all the privacy. A lot of activities can be done at a reasonable cost (locals FYI it is charged in dollars) in the property itself. I highly recommend Kayaking and Katerina( the lead naturalist) was the best. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Enjoyed the stay. I would visit again.

An amazing experience we had at Uga Ulagalla. The staff was very friendly and I never had such humble and polite hotel staff. The villas are beautiful and high standards. They have a lot of activities that you can do. Horse ride at the lake in the evening is my recommendation. Lakmal helped us to ride the horse and he made sure that we get a good time. He took tons of pics and I admire his dedication. Keep up the good work Lakmal. The food was delicious and sizable portions. The menu contains lots of variations. We enjoyed it a lot. The amenities are very good and we really enjoyed the time at Uga Ulagalla. Thanks for the staff to give us a memorable time. See you again.

I would give 10/10 for all the services provided by Uga Ulagalla. The staff was very friendly and supportive from the moment we enter the premises. The location was very beautiful and really appreciate how Uga has managed to preserve the architecture in the Walawwa. Also having their own organic farm, and being sustainable in all the ways they could is highly appreciated. The food was amazing; they tasted so good, was so filling and was too pretty to eat as well. I loved spending time with Rolex and being able to meet Roxy as well. Even during the horse riding I was able to learn lot of things and to capture the beautiful sceneries. Finally the framed photograph provided by the hotel was very thoughtful and we were so happy to take it back with us with all the memories at Uga Ulagalla. Thank you Team Uga Ulagalla and keep up the good work.

Had a fantastic couple of days at this wonderful hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive - we wanted for nothing. The rooms are palatial and decadently comfortable - the bathroom is easily the size of our living room! The food was delicious and we also enjoyed a soothing massage in the beautiful spa. There's so much to do and see here, including kayaking in the nearby tank with a wildlife expert. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

Awesome place, excellent food, well trained courteous staff. The icing on the cake was the bicycle in the chalet. After 50 years I rode a bike and the in house technician adjusted it for my needs. I did over ten Kms The safari was also very nice and Rankoth knew his job. The hotel provided us with delicious sandwiches to eat on our drive back. A very productive four days

Excellent place to relax, unwind and just let the beauty of nature sink in. Beginning with the quaint and interesting welcome, your stay here begins promising to deliver something different. Lovely individual chalets on stilts. Very well appointed with individual plunge pools. Luxury in the midst of nature. The quaint beauty of the old walawwa building is exploited well in having the lobby and dinning areas located here. The underground cellar is a unique feature. With an excellent cuisine coupled with an equally high standard of service makes this one of the best places in the country.

My stay at Uga Ulagalla was filled with warm hospitality and amazing experiences from the staff, wildlife and resort. It is a beautiful estate that provides many activities. The food is good and we loved the staff’s interest in chatting with us about our stay and our day’s activities, plus suggesting awesome options for us. The village dining experience is very fun and delicious It is close to heritage sites which makes it a convenient hotel to travel out of Don’t forget to do horse back riding in the lake for a fun photoshoot experience with Rolex the horse! I must say that the weather too is very good at around 28 in the day and 24 in the evenings in May

What an amazing place. We thought we were going to be in the rain forest, but this is more on the edge. The rooms are absolutely unbelievable. You have a Livingroom and a bedroom. You can watch the monkeys playing the trees while taking shower. How amazing is that. We loved the pool at the room as my husband swam as the monkeys entertained us. The food was amazing and priced reasonably. You take a” buggy” to and from the main buildings, that in it self is entertainment. We went on the morning bird walk. This is done out the back gate of the resort and this area is beyond beautiful. You need to ride your bikes or take a buggy out there or go on the bird walk. You can also go horseback rising out in that area and kayaking, but do not go to this resort and not go out to the lakes, it is just incredible beauty with 200 year old trees. The spa is amazing.

We were also treated with a special cake to celebrate our union and they did their maximum to make sure we had a memorable time. This is undoubtedly one of the best places for a relaxing romantic stay.. Thank you Uga! 😊

Genuine 5-star experience. Attentive, friendly staff. We really enjoyed a carefully-planned and excellently-executed New Year’s Eve gala. Secure, comfortable location. Abundant wildlife, all part of the experience. Spacious villa with plunge pool. Cute but SNEAKY monkey lives nearby, and he will unapologetically steal your sugar packets! Ha! We haven’t yet tried any of a multitude of on property amenities but I’m sure they’re great!
