A great place. We had kottu and fried rice. Food was tasty and no artificial flavours added. I recommend this place to anyone. Nice restaurant arrangement and a cosy atmosphere. We ordered ice cream as a dessert and my grandmother did not want ice cream at night. Staff provide a free fruit platter for her. Great customer service.

Great experience of local food. The person who was the cook there was very informative and explained to us what goes into the food. The food they make is organic taken straight from the garden outside. If you are in Anutadhapura, don't miss out this place for lunch, especially the finger millet rotis. Great option for vegetarians.

Have undergone so many changes .. good is good and a nice warm atmosphere.. their customer support is recommended... I ordered cream chicken soup, Sweet corn chicken soup and special mix chopsuey rice. it was really worthy and super tasty too. one of the best chicken soup I ever experienced in this town

Great place to go to if one's expecting local cuisine. All their fruits and vegetables are organically grown. The food smelled so good and it all tasted so delicious, that I forgot to pause to take pictures even... What I loved the most is the environment and atmosphere they had going with authentic bits and representatives pieces which reflect the historical farming culture of Sri Lanka. Staff were really hospitable and helpful. Thank you so much for taking into consideration our requirements! We'll visit again and recommend for anyone!

We had two meals at 'Palahena' during our stay at Anuradhapura. All food items are freshly made once you place the order. Of course you will have to wait till it gets ready, but it's worth it. We tasted roti(coconut flat bread), chicken soup and egg hoppers. Egg hoppers were just divine. They even grow some of the spices there. Prices were also very reasonable. Most importantly customer service was really good which we always consider very seriously. It's very hard to find a good place to have a healthy diet at Anuradhapura. So we were very happy to find this place. There is room for improvement. Hope they will be able to give an even better service in the future.

We found this restaurant when looking for authentic SL food but ended up very disappointed. This restaurant serves Chinese fast food for tourists. Most items on the menu weren't available. Missed Sri Lankan food for the longest time and my parents took me here for lunch. It was beyond my expectations. The staff was very welcoming and so kind. The food was so yumm. Definitely the place you wanna try when you visit around. 5 stars from me❤️

It is fairly troublesome to find a decent dining place near Anuradhapura especially at night. This place is located, not too far from the Town and very much accessible. It was almost empty on Friday night. Plenty of food options but mostly fried stuff. It took around 20mins to prepare and the food was tasty. Full fried rice may be good enough for two to three people. Prices are in the mid range. Highly recommended!

We’re happy to find this nice place with delicious food nearby our apartment. Loved the food and can recommend it so much. Very good prices, fresh food, nice waiter.

When we went there for a late lunch, no one else was there. Pricing similar to other “western” places - higher, but didn’t feel justified. Additionally there is a flat 10% added on top so the more you eat, the more expensive it gets. Food based on value was just ok. You can sit in a tree house where to bang your head when getting up.

In the past this place was owned by a person who had a vision of food without artificial flavors . He tried to built a customer base for organic food and somewhat successful. Food was bit expensive but the atmosphere and nutritional aspects are met. However my recent visit is somewhat eye opening because the old glory is no more and due to new year festival season staff is scarce. Bought some breakfast and found out that prices are very expensive considering the market rate. So I ‘ll think twice before going there.

The food is pretty average but the real offense of this place is the prices. Over 1000 rupees for vegetable kottu. Over 2000 for deviled fish (with sauce that tasted straight from a Chinese sweet and sour packet). 900 rupees for fish curry would be fine if it was exceptional. It was not. A place for not in the know tourists (which sadly I was on this occasion). I've eaten much better and cheaper Sri Lankan food across the country. The star is for the service, which was attentive and well intentioned.

We order meals and we’re waiting for our dinner during more then 1,5 hours. The waiters confused all our orders. All the meals were the smallest which I have ever seen on Sri Lanka, the Tom yam soup was 200 grams of nothing, the fried chicken was just a pieces of fried bones with a small pieces of meat, etc we recieved some of our food only we ask for them several times. So I really don’t know why people marked this place with good marks. Probably because the others are worse

Got a veg cheese kottu and a veg fried rice. Both tasted terrible. Rice seemed old and dry, and the kottu tasted only of turmeric. Pity since we read a lot of good reviews before going to this place, just to end up being disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Decent service though.

We, a party of two, were greeted warmly and received attentive service throughout the duration of our stay. Our two dishes, a coconut curry and vegetable curry, were spicy, fresh and full of flavor. The food was very good, it was the best meal I had in Sri Lanka! I went with a group of 16 people and service was fast and all dishes were as we ordered. Price was good for what we got, considering as well that the portions were very big! The staff was also very considerate and, as we are foreigners, they asked what was the spice level for every dish. We went there last week to have lunch while we were on official visit. The place was really nice and food was good too. And the price was okay at that time. But once we came back to colombo and check the bill there was additional charge for soup. Which was kept next to buffet arrangement. It's better if appetizers include in the buffet other than charging extra.

I have eaten here twice now, on both occasions staff were very friendly, spoke English, meals were delicious. Not licensed but you can bring your own if you wish. The owner chatted to me for a while and even gave me advice on places to visit. Strongly recommend
