A walking pathway around the lake with nice scenery view, it's almost safe for ladies and children. There is a children's park nearby.

It's located around kubichchnkulama lake and there is a jogging path around the lake.There are so many people running around the jogging path.In the evening there is such a beautiful sunset.Such a beautiful place.I enjoyed it very much.

Longest walking pathway in New Town. Long time since construction starts and yet to complete around 100 feet for the complete round. Spacious and poor maintenance. Not crowded, morning is the best time for a walk. Vehicle parking spaces available in different locations around the track.

Freedom

This place is good for jogging.Crowded.But after getting dark the area after passing parallel with new bus stand were dark and less crowded.Mainly venomous snacks can come to the jogging path.Also many trees were cut and put into the lake.Also fisherman were fishing in prohibited areas of fishing.Also Municipal council didn't maintain the track well.Bushes were growing middle of the track.Also the area I mentioned before was dark because solar lights were not working.Sometimes there were people drinking alcohol in park.If you willing to jogging you can walk more than 3 Km around the lake.Natural birds ,animals can seen.There are benches can rest.There were many places can buy fruit juice and fruit salad in here.My advice to you is walk before getting dark.

When you visit Anuradhapura it's a nice place to relax.

This lake is located in the new part of Anuradhapura city in North Central province, Srilanka. This particular area has a very long history. In the beginning this area is called as "kombhichchikulama hena" later changed its name "kumbhichchankulama ".this was an agricultural area in the past with a huge forest area.it gave shelter to many animals including elephants, samba, deer,rabbits, fox and many may varieties of animals and birds. In the dawning of 19th century (somewhere between 1970-1980) this beautiful land transformed into a residential area with the modern development. Slowly and silently the flora and forna missed it's identity and vanished forever. The animals and birds inherited to this land had to find new places for living. Today its a highly populated area with modern architecture. Still the lake remains. Early day's there were large paddy fields surrounded by this lake. But Today only large buildings can be witnessed. During last 10 years the government had renovated the lake and there is a jogging path around the lake. Still today you can see some birds and reptiles in this lake. It's a touristic area today. Quite nice to enjoy a peaceful evening with your family while enjoying some refreshments. Waterfront homestay is situated 150 nearer to this beautiful place.
