One of the best bake shops in the area. This place would have been even busier, had they had more seating space. I love their interiors. It is packed with plants. Tried most of the items on the menu. They have a huge menu given the small space. Everything here is great. Parking can be tricky, as the entrance is on a slope. I came here multiple times.

Outstanding coffee and pastries!!! I used to drive further in Cary to get a great tasting coffee but recently discovered bonafide. They make really really good gluten free and regular pastries, savory sandwiches and really really great tasting coffee. Fantastic experience, beautiful location and great food. Pros vegan food! Great variety. Dandelion Tortellini Soup was amazing coffee was small for price but super tasty Cons grits were a little stiff and a bit oily - a bit pricey. But great special occasion place.

I have ordered vegan food from here about 20x including their holiday pies, biscuits, and Christmas cookies. I loooove the orzo salad, their soups, and the vegan egg/tempeh English muffin sandwich!! And all the sweets, oh my! Their dessert case is always rotating so I tend to get 3-6 options. Some highlights include the lemon meringue pie, key lime cake, thumbprint cookies (basic, I know, but perfect), and many more. I don't care for their cupcake frosting (which is different than their cake frosting for some reason) or how their pieces of cake/pie got smaller over time (I don't mind small pieces but I do like consistency). Good customer service, too. I had an issue with an apple pie being undercooked and they offered my money back.

The service was quick and polite. It’s not a fancy spot, but enough space to grab a quick bite to eat and get back on the road. The sticky buns are amazing.

The small cafe was delightfully decorated for Halloween. There was an entire topshelf of baked goods that were gluten free and again decorated for Halloween. Had a delicious sweet potato bowl with beyond meat sausages and vegetables.

Loved the atmosphere of this place. There were a ton of options for sandwiches and pastries. I’m gluten free and dairy free so I always check for those options. There were many gluten free options and a few that were both gluten free and vegan. Everything we had was tasty! There’s a big selection of breakfast and lunch food, snacks, desserts, and drinks. We got one of the sandwiches with a poppyseed bun, chips, and a pistachio chocolate tarte. There are single stall bathrooms available. There were multiple art pieces, plants, and decor around. Both indoor and outdoor seating was available, with multiple tables for each. Inside, there’s also a small bar table and couch area. The service was very fast efficient!

It is... amazing okay? The chairs are comfy. The music is just on point. The food!! Fairly priced, delicious, and the portion is just right to fill you up but not be heavy. The beyond florentine sandwich with a vegan sausage was SO good! Can't wait to try all their baked sweets😍

Cute little coffee shop with EXCELLENT cinnamon bun and sticky bun! We took them to go and heated them up at home a little and they were great. They were still good room temp from the store but 30 seconds in the microwave created gooey perfection. It wasn’t very expensive, the staff was super friendly, service was fast, and the food was good. If it wasn’t so far away I’d be a regular.

Can't wait to go back! The food, service, and ambience were perfect. Their menu provides options for everyone although I was particularly interested in the vegan options and there are many. I got the buffalo tofu sandwich. It was amazing! The texture they were able to achieve on the tofu was super firm and almost shreddable. It was very close to chicken. The toppings were fresh and the sauce was tangy, creamy, and mildly spicy. My parents were with me and got chicken Philly cheese steaks which they both enjoyed. They said it tasted freshly made and loved the peppers. I'm also a huge fan of their s'mores bar. It's a must try especially if you're vegan and miss s'mores! See ya soon, Bonafide Bakeshop & Cafe!

This place is a great find! I drove past multiple times and finally decided to stop. The deserts are super tastyyyyy. I ordered a jam thumbprint, a chocolate chip cookie and a treacle tart (major points for the harry potter reference). I was surprised how big the cookie and tart were. I ended up saving half for later. I also decided on the pesto sandwich while I was there. I was surprised how fresh the Sandwich tasted! And the bread was delicious. I only have half a picture because it was so tasty I forgot to snap a photo. I didn't stay because I had errands, but this place seems nice and cozy. I'll definitely come back to try the cinnamon rolls! If you are looking for a bakery with vegan options this could be your new spot!

Absolutely delicious vegan baked goods and sandwiches. The vegan tomato basil soup was also incredible. So grateful to have a bakery/cafe with super solid vegan options in Apex!

A quaint spot with a great selection of vegan, vegetarian and meat options. There’s something to chose for everyone. Super friendly staff. I tried Crispy Tofu Buffalo sandwich on a potato bun and it was lip smacking. They have a wide array of pastries and sweet treats. We will be back definitely!

So many good options, so little time! Great for grabbing a quick coffee and treats - you can't stop with one... One of my favorites is the Maple Pecan Blondie but running with any of the other treats will not do you wrong. When things get back to normal, nestled in quiet space, you can meet up with friends and enjoy the great space the owners have made.

I had a lovely time at Bonafide on 4th of July with my family! I had been creeping them on social media for quite awhile, and am glad to have finally made it over (and am looking forward to going back!) As a vegan, the menu was extremely accessible and exciting! Having the vegan assortment of sandwiches and desserts that they did is a beautiful exception to my typical cafe experiences. My choices weren't limited, and it was a treat to find an array of yummy food and sweets. Yet the menu wasn't overwhelming, as my non-vegan parents also throughly enjoyed what they ordered. I ordered the southwest tempeh sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful and nourishing. My dad and I were both very pleased with the bread-to-stuff ratio of our sandwiches. I also value the incorporation of local producers throughout Bonafide's food and cafe! I took home a glorious slice of blueberry cheesecake, which was damn good, and the last one of their vegan magic bars. The magic bar, with coconut, white and dark chocolate, and graham cracker, is what dreams are made of. In fact, trying it this morning expedited my need to write this review haha. I have visited this bakery a few times now, but I would say after today I would not be going back again. The server didn’t seem interested in waiting on us, and after getting our take away order the Peach Cheesecake slice was half of what was in the display case, and the Cappuccino cup was less than half filled. Very disappointing to have a decent establishment result in such a terrible outcome. Update: The owner reached out to me to offer to make things right, which is always appreciated, thus changing this rating to higher. Please continue to hire and train staff to respect and appreciate customers!

I love this place so much - if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. I tell everyone I know to go here. The employees are nice; everything on the menu is very tasty - I've tried salads, breakfast sandwiches, both meat and vegan options. Sandwiches and their seasonal specials are so good like the crabless cake sandwich, and all the different oatmeal they come up with (the flavored nut butters they use are out of this world). The coffee is great; they have dairy alternative milks. The cafe is so cute and very clean and tidy. Their baked goods are also a nice sweet treat and there are usually many options to try. The online ordering system could not be any easier - I order from Bonafide at least twice a week. This is my go to place for a quick, healthy meal. They are open 7-8 every day and that is very convenient for an early riser like me who likes to get up and going. Thank you Bonafide for being in this community and offering lots of yummy food for meat and non meat eaters alike!

Disappointed. Got a really tiny piece of quiche. It was a Tiny sliver not the nice sized piece shown in the case. So I prefer a taller quiche to a short pie to really enjoy the creamy egg custard. I realized ahead this was not it looked good. The egg seemed over cooked and crumbled apart when I put my fork into it. Only ok as far as flavor goes. Crust was nice but needed more egg and creamy quiche texture. My plain latte looked good but lacked on coffee flavor. Tasted like milk. By the looks of it I know there was espresso in there but the flavor was faint. So ordered 2 eggs scrambled to get some protein to make up for the quiche. Couldn’t eat it. Flat, dry, overcooked. I did try and it was super dry, rubbery. Not good. From a bakery that serves breakfast sandwiches would expect better. At least fluffy not “fried” to death scrambled eggs. The peach pecan muffin had good flavor. Not much peach but the spice and pecans were nice , just not enough to come back for. Super sad. I wanted to find a new go to.

SO DELICIOUS! My son has recent GF and V required dietary restrictions and it is hard to find places he can eat LET ALONE eat AMAZINGLY delicious options! An entire shelf of treats and breakfast sandwich/wrap options he loved! The GF/V Caramel Apple Cake was AmAzInG 🤤 thank you!

I have to say this Bakery is the absolute best!! First off the gentleman that helped me was extremely kind, helpful and every took his time packing my pastries. Also the amount of Vegan options is the best. The food is delicious. I highly recommend trying them if you’re looking for a great cafe’, vegan bakery or just good food. I wish they were closer to my home, but it’s worth the 40min trip.

I lived within walking distance of Bonafide for 2 years, so this review is a long time coming. The pastries and lunches here are always delicious, they truly never miss. And they always have something new to try, so you’ll never get bored! Since their food is so good, I decided I’d order my husband’s birthday cake from here. He’s a Swedish citizen and grew up eating prinsesstårta (“Princess Cake”) at birthday parties. It’s a fairly involved process involving green marzipan, custard, whipped cream, raspberries, shaping, and layers. It was a big request, in my opinion, considering it’s not a common cake in the US and requires a bit more skill to make. But the baker at Bonafide agreed to make it and was so great about asking questions and making sure that she understood my request. On the day of pick-up, I was presented with EXACTLY what I wanted! What’s more, it was delicious! So delicious, in fact, that I ordered it again this year even after having moved from Apex. Bonafide is one of Apex’s finest businesses and I cannot recommend them enough!

This place is amazing! As a person that eats a vegan diet it can be hard to find a place that not only has vegan options but have GREAT vegan options. It’s not just a slice of toast or a soggy salad or a stiff meat replacement. They have delicious, fresh, options that make it a delight to to have a meal with friends and family.

Love coming here. Whether it is a lunch meetup with a friend, picking of sweets & tummy fuel before a road trip, or ordering pies for special occasions, this place is great. Oh, did I mention I choose to get all this vegan style, but you do you!

Nice little Vegan nook in a very good location in Apex! Loved the cozy seating and the personal touch. A breakfast/brunch/lunch paradise for the Vegans for sure. You practically get any standard American breakfast in Vegan... The beyond sausage, just eggs vegan, and many more options, if you are a vegan. Florentine Sandwich was sumptuous and was easily the best breakfast sandwich I have had in the area. Buffalo Tofu sandwich and pesto chicken sandwich were amazing also! Definitely an amazing little find in the area that I am sure, I will be visiting quite a bit!

Do not skip the cinnamon rolls!! (SO good). My chicken pesto focaccia was delicious, albeit a little oily (which I have no problem with, but it might bother some ppl). Definitely worth a visit.

I am SO glad I found this place. A hidden gem. As a vegan, I was more than pleased to see the menu. Tons of options. I have tried almost every item and never once have I been disappointed. They don’t miss! Highly recommend. Our go-to spot.
