Best ice cream around , but that’s not my issue!!! I’ve been coming here for 5 years , but I notice that it lacks Diversity of different people that’s employed here so my husband encourage our daughter to apply here for a part time job to earn some money before college. I instantly thought they wouldn’t hire her because she was Muslim and African American , but they did I was so happy for her . My daughter walked 30 min there every scheduled day ( she doesn’t have her driving license) willing to learn because after all ice cream is a her favorite , even as a young child she wanted to work at a ice cream shop , so she showed up willing to learn and excited about meeting new people . The owner Jason pops up one day and gave her a “test” the first question about serving size she got wrong but she explained to him that’s how management trained her, he pretended to understand but instantly didn’t move forward with the test told her to practice the rest of the the list of things to know and said he would return the following week to retest her but he never did ! The next time she encounter him he fired her said he felt like it wasn’t a good fit , she didn’t have a positive attitude and management said they have to remind her to do things (well of course this her first job and only been there few weeks). daughter was so confused because management doesn’t work with her often she said well did you ask my co workers how I am ? He replied no we don’t do that. She also had no customer complaints! She walked 30 minutes back home sobbing and hurt until this day she has no idea what she did wrong.

Super cute place! Always appreciate the opportunity for tastings, and the staff was friendly. Really liked their ice cream; they have a ton of options! HAD to have a waffle cone on the side because the place smelled SO good from them, and it was worth it!

This is now my favorite fresh location. They staff were super friendly and they had a large selection of gluten-free flavors. I’d say 3/4 were gluten-free. As always some of if not the best ice cream in the triangle. This time I got the Italian Canoli flavor and the peanut butter cup. For an allergy and contamination perspective I watched them get a different scoop for every flavor for every customer. So even though I got two gluten free flavors they still grabbed a new scoop every time. I think the scoops are all rinsed in the same water bucket but by rinsing between every flavor they cut back on the contamination risk. As always 10/10 recommend any FRESH location.

Very good ice cream. You can definitely tell the difference between fresh and packaged. Nice clean, crisp taste with no "pasty tongue" feel. The coconut crunch was full of flavor and satisfying, though very strong on the coconut. Midnight brownie crunch was also a good heavy chocolate flavor with plenty of toppings. If getting a cone, recommend getting 2 scoops. Single scoop kind of sits at the top and you end with empty cone at the bottom. FYI - chalk menu, handwriting, was difficult to read. Spent time working through the "Partner Businesses" sign that was in the same text style and next to the menu before realizing it wasn't part of the menu. Good premium ice cream and nice atmosphere, similar to other premium shops though nothing that was really "stand out".

Fresh Local ICE CREAM 🍦 IS THE BEST ICE CREAM You can EVER Have IN Your LIFE, very convenient in Downtown Apex. It has so many different and unique flavors that when you first walk into the store You know that this would be so unique. One of the coolest features are windows, sitting on bar stools you can enjoy traffic pass by. Not so sweet, Highly recommend it !

April 9, 2021 - Strolling Salem Street in Apex ( NC) what better way to usher in SPRING then with several scoops at the Fresh Local Ice Cream! Perfect night to taste Salty Carmel Fudge, Berry Crumple, and Coffee Chocolate Crunch ! “Fresh” ingredients swirl & tickle the tastebuds ! I believe the story starts with Brett Hillman and his wife moving to North Carolina many years ago. With ice cream in his blood, and experience from working at Carvel, Brett opened his 1st Fresh Local Ice Cream in 2011 ( Raleigh). Brett passed his love of ice cream onto his son, Jason . . . who now owns a Fresh Local Ice Cream in Apex & Cary! Their mission statement promises local farm-barn ingredients in each hand scooped 16 featured flavors at a time! I’d rate Fresh Local Ice Cream as 4.7 stars! The service was great, with each server masked and helpful! The facility was clean, with water available to customers. Also a restroom on site, thank you. My only concern . . . I’d like to see a few low calorie , or low sugar alternatives for those with dietary restrictions. Otherwise, fantastic variety of choices! You can’t beat several scoops of fresh ice cream with friends/family on a gorgeous SPRING night !

My family loves this place. They have regular and dairy free options (all taste great), are dog friendly and have free water. Plus the staff is always friendly. What else could you want.

This place had good ice cream 🍦. I was surprised they had ice cream for dogs, too. That was a first for me. Parking is a little troublesome because it's downtown but not that bad because it's apex downtown, which is small. Good variety of toppings as well. It's worth a try for sure.

Oh my goodness- simply amazing ice cream! I had the Carolina Crunch and Peanut Butter Cup and both were wonderful. I’m visiting from FL and got chatting with the 2 employees, (I didn’t get their names - but they both had lived in FL previously) were the friendliest and so helpful.

FRESH is definitely a hit. Great ice cream and I like that they rotate the flavors. I know a lot of people complained about the price, but I believe the pricing is fair and I like to support local businesses. 4 stars instead of 5 because the young lady who served me tonight had on bracelets and that's just not the best idea since they almost touched my ice cream. I've worked in the food industry and usually no jewelry and hair either in a bun or hair net, But overall very great visit tonight. Thank you, we'll be back to try a different flavor soon!

Would love to say tonight that fresh local Apex is our go to spot for ice cream we were nervous about the line tonight. Which we watched move steady for an hour while we had dinner across the street. The team tonight was so great while they were the busiest ice cream shop on the street! They all had great customer service, we let them know they were doing so awesome with the crowd! Our favorite downtown apex spot for ice cream

Totally have been a long time customer but unfortunately that has ended.. I came and ordered my usual order....2 regular scoops with peanut butter on top, in a pint container to contain the mess...so a rude girl scooping told me that's against the rules she can't put peanut butter in the paper cup, only a plastic drinking cup?!? How weird. Anyway after informing her I've ordered this numerous times I was told she can put the two in separate containers? Again very strange "rule" I personally feel that as a paying customer if I'd like my ice cream in a paper cup container with peanut butter sauce then I should be able to...I really didn't feel like eating out of a plastic drinking cup thank you very much! Anyway I will absolutely never go back because of the way I was treated...

Had some great ice cream on a beautiful day! Loved how they had the windows open. I had the chocolate with the brownie bits in it, I can't remember the name. The Staff was very kind and friendly!

I visited The Apex Fresh for the first time because from the street view it is welcoming and so cute inside. It reminded me of an old fashion ice cream parlor. It is THE BEST homemade ice cream! Also their waffle cones are also homemade & they are delectable! I got the peanut butter after sampling. I'm very picky about my peanut butter ice cream & I have to say it's the best ever! I'm going back to that Fresh for desert after a date night in Apex! 5 stars!

I had various ice cream delights a number of times. Tonight it was a less then satisfactory experience. I ordered a hot fudge sundae and I suspected something wasn’t right when the counter person had to vigorously scrape the fudge from the container. The “hot” fudge was barely more than room temperature. I ate about three quarters of the sundae and threw the remainder away. I politely let a counter person know. She explained to me that the hot fudge machine was left on throughout the night before. I did decline her offer to get me something else. All previous visits were fine. Tonight, not so good.

Great selection of ice cream that are all delicious. I would come more often it the prices were lower, but still a good place for an occasional treat.

Cute place in downtown Apex. We went with 5 kids so it was chaotic to say the least. The teenage staff was super nice and helpful. They got all of our order quickly and made the kids feel special. The ice cream was good until I tried mine. The Carolina Crunch was crazy good - salted caramel with toffee and peanut butter crunch. Can you ask for more?

The best ice cream in town! So many flavorful options to choose from. My favorite seasonal flavors are banana pudding and key lime pie! The pup cups are a hit too! And the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Midnight brownie- Guys you have to try this out… I’m not a lover of ice cream but you should check this out. I loved it 😍

It was good! I liked it. The place only had 2 people working that night. They did the best they could with getting people in and out. It was one of not tooany businesses that were open downtown Apex. The only thing is the young lady's hair was hanging down near the ice cream, she wasn't wearing gloves, and she used the same hands to take money at the cash register, and then back to dipping ice cream. We had an ice cream soda... Great place to visit and bring family. Prices are very good. Seating in an open space. Go visit!!! You will enjoy it!
