Favourite meal I had whilst visiting Apia. Pictured is the surf and turf and fish of the day which was NZ Marlin. Both dishes were so tasty! We ordered the arancini as a starter, not pictured but definitely yummy, came with 3 balls as an fyi.

A prawn in the seafood marinara that i ordered had a sea shell in it on the first night but service was good so we decided to give them another shot. We ordered the pizza this time and was very disappointed but the soggy and doughy pizza base, not to mention the tomato base was not a tomato base, it was with cream or something of the sort. Very average food and they charge you for carafe water (meaning free tap water) which also gave me a stomach bug. Will not be coming back here unfortunately.

As tourists we aimed to go to the Waterside Friday Markets but closed so got a taxi here. Luckily got the last vacant table. Service accurate, fast, friendly and attention to detail. Food excellent quality. Even phoned for a cab without us asking. This was our best dinner in 18 days in Samoa.

The coffee here is excellent. I had a soy flat white. The bread is European style sour dough so if you crave this while on the island I recommend here. I had a very good blueberry muffin. Have not yet had a dinner here would recommend. The place is clean and the staff pleasant and remembered me. Cost $$

We were hungry and the food here was also really good. Delicately served, cooked perfectly with the meat just falling apart in your mouth. Simply wonderful.

Would highly recommend, more up class than others around but very good pricing (smaller serves than some places, but really good food quality and taste, excellent presented as well). Absolutely delicious, the best garlic bread, tiger prawns & crème brûlée we’ve EVER had! Amanda was a lovely host and David, our waiter was perfect. Really great experience, really reasonable pricing, highly recommended. We’ll head back for lunch and a great coffee tomorrow.

Highly recommend. Went to dinner with a friend this evening and had an amazing meal. The fish of the day was snapper, and it was beautifully cooked as were the prawns, the beans and the mashed potatoes. Thanks for a great meal!

Food was good. A little pricey for what you get, but quite good.

We travelled across town & then out a bit to Scalinis for dinner. We had darkness, emptyness & nothingness. Despite claiming to be open - they were closed for at least a week. Rang a few taxis - which refused to come out that far, and then started walking & hoping. Eventually a taxi drove past & back into town we went. Horrible experience, night ruined.

Have had a sick stomach after eating here several times now. Food is also hit or miss, some days ok and other days very poor, portions are very small compared to price point (for example the mashed potatoes served with meals is only about 2-3 tablespoons in size) and the quality of food is inconsistent; we tried the deli stuff (sandwiches, bagels, salads - most of the time not fresh and poorly made, tiny portions too) and were also brought here for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. We like to give second chances but every time we experienced similar problems so overall not worth it and absolutely not a fine dining experience, it’s just a casual cafe. Surprisingly for a cafe style restaurant it is not a kid friendly environment as well, I would not recommend this place for families. Wait staff have decent service and were friendly though, we really appreciated that. Although the same cannot be said about the female owner who gives off a very unwelcoming and unfriendly vibe and this was the same each time we were taken there. Definitely the most overrated place on island and would not go here again when we are back in Samoa. If you’re after fine dining we thought Bistro and Paddles hit the mark better, Paddles overall had good portions and taste for the cost and were consistent each time.

Great coffee, deli and restaurant. Pizza is delicious. I could eat the fish dish and Oka everyday I if didn’t make myself have more variety. Air conditioned when you want to escape the heat and mosquitoes of other outdoor dining options.

Disappointing, the service was extremely slow, i have been to many Hard Rock Cafe' s and never experienced this. The location is nicely on the boardwalk. The food was good and plentiful. Except for the service i would not recommend, many other place to enjoy.

When visiting Samoa do not miss Scalini for dinner lunch and now a great breakfast spot. Try the cinnamon scrolls with your favorite cofee

The local (Samoan) staff is amazing . The old white lady who I assume is the owner , not so much . To all of my melanated people that plan to vacation in Samoa, please do not come here . It’s quite obvious that she does not want our business. The owner was rude and obnoxious . The food is not terrible , but definitely not what you expect from the excellent ratings that this establishment receives. Trust me , not worth your money or your time .

Best food experience in Apia and good value

The owners and staff are always a delight to interact with. Always a smile awaits you here. Great place to chill out with the best coffee in town, tasty treats galore and books aplenty in the shelves. 5 stars don't seem to be enough.

Our last night in Samoa was outstanding after a terrible dinner the night before at our hotel we were in search of a lovely local restaurant & we are so glad we found Scalini’s. The bruschetta entree was delicious and the flambé dessert was the overall highlight. We will be back next time we’re in Samoa for sure! Thank you

25May15 27Jul15 Scalini's Apia (Samoa) on the Moto'otua hill-rise serves great food. Fish come from locals (fishing boats in photo), vegetables and garnishes are sourced from the owner's gardens across the road and the restaurant strives to present dishes quickly, artfully and full of tastes. I had lunch here with Mr Inga Tuigamala, a former All Black, in May 2015. I was surprised at the first class taste, cooking and presentation of every dish. I had lunch here again in July 2015 as a member of the New Zealand Prime Minister's (the Rt Hon John Key) tour party for the one day visit to watch the Manu Samoa-All Blacks game. The Prime Minister's party was more than 40 people and again, Scalini and its staff were very, very good. The restaurant owner after running Scalini's in Parnell, Aucjkland, New Zealand, for many years has retired to Apia.

LOVE THIS PLACE! It was nice having a touch of home, the food is fantastic! The service is amazing and the owners were so accomodating. My partner proposed and they brought us champagne and congratulated us.

Went to Scalini's with my wife and 2 young daughters tonight, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the Pizzette, rump lamb, Spaghetti Carbonara and Tiramisu which were all amazing and very tasty!! Have eaten at a few different restaurants around Samoa over the week and this place would have to be no.1 thus far. We will definately be coming back on our next trip back!!

Had a farewell dinner here for one of my ex-colleague and i have to say the dishes were very interesting and great! Very fresh dishes and has various tastes. The drink menu and setup as well is very professional and welcoming. I would suggest this for a date night! The sort-of-dim brightness of indoor lights just sets the atmosphere for a date. The services as well is really good; very easy to approach waiters and waitresses as well as owner. Cost would be a downside for well, the average but thinking about it, it does meet the quality you are seeking!

Came in out of the pouring rain, Joe saw I was soaked and got me a dry top, which was really appreciated, the food was delicious and the service wonderful! My father and I felt it was fantastic. We look forward to going back again soon
