Pretty tasty fare, good service beautifully decorated restaurant, fairly private outdoor patio. You can tell they put a lot of thought into making this place an old world beautiful place to eat.

I had a bad experience here, the server was rude-walked away multiple times while we were ordering or talking to her, she forgot to put in my order when I ordered first, the carne asada was pathetic, we even asked if it was supposed to come out unseasoned and they said yes. The chicken enchiladas were also very underwhelming, the chicken was flavorless. The nachos were really good, could use more chips, but we sent our entrees back and didn't order anything else. She walked away after I requested to return my entree, then when she came back with the adjusted bill, we were finally able to tell her about my partner's entree and she immediately walked away saying "oh my god" and brought the manager. I'd give it 0 stars but the nachos were really good.

Service was great and the decor is welcoming! Really enjoyed the shredded beef, seasoned so well and so tender. We didn't get their drinks but would come back to try their frozen drinks and food again. Portion sizes were large and it was overall very affordable, even with an appetizer

I got the chimichanga. Was absolutely delicious! My wife got the fajita salad. She started eating some and she found multiple pieces of pink uncooked chicken inside. Told the server and he brought back a new dish that had cooked chicken. Got the bill and they still charged us for the salad… I never leave bad reviews. And it was our first time at this restaurant. Just very disappointed at how they handled this. Everyone be very careful eating here. Make sure to check the meat before you eat it.

I love all Mexican food (Cheap fake fast food stuff, Tex Mex, and authentic stuff). That being said El Azteca didn't disappoint as I was craving your typical chain restaurant refried beans, rice, and chimchangas (which all were cooked well and hit the spot). Honestly the only reason this wasn't a five star was because we ordered a large guacamole and never received it. I don't blame the server as he got a couple big parties sat in his section but in that case I'd expect the manager on duty to be making the rounds through his section to see if his tables need anything because he has his hands full.

This is one of my all time favorites! The service is great and if it's not a full house they are very fast! The food is always delicious! 10/10 would recommend!

Both food and service were above par... semi crowded, not super busy but still authentic tasting foods...

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Twin Cities. The food is excellent... it's hard to describe but it's just tastier than anyplace else we've gone. My favorite dish is the Enchiladas Cancun. Don't be afraid of seafood in MN at Mexican restaurant, this is delicious. The wine sauce is perfect. Highly recommend the blended mango margarita as well. Service was excellent, even on a busy Friday night. All around a great experience.

El Azteca has been a family favorite for over a decade. With generous portion sizes, fantastic flavors, fair prices, it’s an excellent value all around. It’s a very popular spot in Apple Valley, and though it can be quite busy, we have never needed reservations, and very rarely have had to wait for a table. The decor is delightful, with roof tiles and well designed booths that feel cozy and private. Many of the servers have been there for a decade or more, so they are well experienced and provide great service. The food service is also exceptionally, remarkably fast. It is rare that we ever have to wait longer than 10 minutes after we place our order for it to be fully delivered to the table. We frequently have the reaction, β€œWow! Already?” The complimentary chips are always fresh, crisp, and tasty. They have a unique white salsa (served with tasty traditional salsa) that is usually the tipping point to bring us back over other Tex-Mex places. A couple of menu favorites are the Burrito San Jose, which combines chicken, chorizo, and queso blanco, and the fajitas for two platter, which easily feeds our family of four (with leftovers). El Azteca it’s easily one of our favorite Tex-Mex restaurants in the state.

What a great place! Their vegan burrito bowl is simple and delicious. The guacamole is some of the best guacamole I have ever had. I have been here twice this week! Definitely our go to spot now for lunch at work.

This was absolutely horrendous! They gave us ranch with our chips and the salsa was clearly from a jar. My friend and I to go to many Mexican restaurants and this was terrible. We decided against ordering any food because the chips & salsa were so bad. We instead got an app to be polite, the app was gruel on a plate of grease covered with more grease

Food not bad at all. Watch your bill they're a little tricky with how they charge. Entrance sign tells you the happy hour price $4 drinks yet they still try to charge you $10. Old pirate trick.

Very good food served quickly. The prices were fair, the servers were pleasant and I hope to come back soon.

Very friendly staff but nothing is cheap here. Not even lunch menu. And their ranch dip tasted really sweet. But their salsa was great.

I have a sensitive stomach and try to avoid certain food from restaurants. However, this time I did an exception and tried spicy food and beans without any issues. I am happy I was able to eat what I wanted. Portions from the daily menu are perfect size for a person and reasonable price. I recommend this place πŸ‘Œ

This place has outstanding Mexican food. It has hefty portions with rich flavors. They also have an outstanding selection of foods and drinks- both adult and NA. El Azteca is quickly be becoming one of my favorite places to eat in the Burnsville/AV/Lakeville area.

We went on a Saturday night at about 445pm. It wasn't busy when we arrived but by the time we left it was getting a lot busier. I loved the size of their sodas. Food was ready extremely fast. I had two chicken enchiladas, rice, and beans. It was good but nothing Overly fantastic. I felt like I didn't get much for beans. Will probably go back another time to try something else.

We went in the miss afternoon. The restaurant is cute, like that you get chips n salsa. I had a taco salad. It came in a burnt shell with hardly anything in it. Hardly any lettuce. I was disappointed but will try it again.

We haven't been here for a while and I think they remodeled. Nice atmosphere and service was fast and efficient. We liked our dishes of chicken fajitas and a combo of a beef taco and burrito. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures. It was an expensive lunch though but tasty.

Love this place! Decent procing, fabulous food, great salsa and chips. Staff are pleasant! They changed their chips so they're not as thick as before, which is a bummer and reasoning for the lost star. Go back to your original chips please πŸ™πŸΎ πŸ™‚
