One of the Major Station in-between Howrah-Goghat Section. Previously Arambagh was the terminal station in this section. However, in recent time the train line is extended upto Joyrambati, though regular train movement is upto Goghat Station (Next to Arambagh). In actual scenario Howrah-Arambagh Local is still in the Indian Local Railway Time table and most of the trains run from Howrah to Arambagh. Only Five trains run upto Goghat and they are named as Howrah-Goghat Locals. In near future this section will be extended up to Bisnupur and locals will run through the route Howrah-Tarakeshwar-Arambagh-Kamarpukur-Joyrambati-Bishnupur. The work is under progress.

Beautiful station surrounded by lot of evergreen paddy field. Trains maintain proper timing. But problem is frequent change in time table in last two years or so. Another problem is to get near the station from bus terminus which is 2.5 km away. Van riksaw and poolcar often demand hefty charges. They are often not available, also.

Arambagh railway station located near to Arambagh bus stand of Hooghly district, 10 mins by Auto/Toto. Its a marginal busy rail station of Eastern Railway. It is well connected with Howrah Station. You will get local train from Howrah through Bally, Uttarpara, Seurafuli, Siingur, Tarakeswar etc. It will take almost 2hrs from Howrah by local train.
