Peace. This family owned place is peaceful and wholesome. You feel like you are staying at a friend's home. There is a library room and a courtyard and a roof terrace. The beds were so clean and fresh, the sheets faintly smelled of flowers; not sure what they do but I still remember how good it felt. Artwork on every wall and all-in-all a very eclectic experience. You can ask for breakfast in the roof terrace. Just beware there is only a tiny stair going to the rooms on the upper floors, and you can't get to the hotel by car in the first place. The hotel is situated in the center of a a maze of narrow alleys, nooks and crannies and tiny plazas up on a hill. People need to step into house entrance niches, if a car needs to squeeze through.

Lovely hotel with amazing views. We had a small private terrace and there was also a huge shared roof terrace for all the guests to use. Very quiet and peaceful. We loved sitting on the terrace and watching the birds flying past. The room was small but clean with a very comfortable bed and the breakfast in the inner courtyard was delightful. This hotel is a special place, which has a lovely, relaxing, romantic atmosphere.

A very special historic house in a wonderful location in the old centre of Arcos. Amazing having a drink on the rooftop terrace as the sun goes down. Stunning views with birds wheeling all around. This is a homely place, full of character, bookcases and quirky art. Great breakfast in the interior courtyard. Lovely people. This is not a pristine modern-style hotel - it's an old place full of character and charm. We loved it.

First you have to prepare yourself to it's location. Don't try to walk the hill running. It's quite a challenge. La Casa Grande was like coming back in time to revisit my grandparents house, the old feeling but in a good way. Great view to the valley and to Arcos itself. Great staff also. The complete highlight was the breakfast. My father smile while having breakfast was totally worth it.

Lovely old house with charming rooms and spectacular views. The breakfast is incredibly good and well worth the money. Centrally located to all sites.

When we arrived, they upgraded us probably because there was not a full house. The view was to die for the room was precious and the location was special.

We stayed at the La Casa Grande in August 2019 for two nights. Two adults and two children. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The location and views were unbeatable. The hotel is situated right at the top of the old town with panoramic views. The bedroom was spacious, clean and opened up onto the roof terrace. The beds were so comfortable that we all overslept...something that doesn't happen often! We were in Arcos de la Frontera during an exceptionally hot weekend and didn't feel the heat at all when inside. The hotel itself (I hate using the word 'hotel' it felt like anything but..) was beautiful and filled with history. The interior patio, the artwork, the furnishings, the food and everybody working there was brilliant. So much nicer than we imagined. We're already planning a trip back!

We loved our room with the 2 level terrace overlooking the cliff (see blue circle in picture). It looked like we were walking into a cave on the way to the room - very cool! Wifi didn't reach the room but who cares, instead - sit on the terrace, unwind, disconnect and relax. The staff was very helpful and quick to respond to questions. Please take the advice and park in the lot on the way into town - do not try to drive into old town. Google maps was inaccurate many times and the roads are much narrower than in the other old towns that we visited. We took a taxi to the hotel (it can only take you close, not to the door.) The breakfast was extra but was very generous and delicious. We also enjoyed a drink on the rooftop patio in the evening. Visit the tourist office and get a map to walk and visit the sites. It was a great way to explore the old and new town. We had a lovely dinner at El Mirador de Isabel - a hidden gem and a beautiful place to watch the sunset. We would happily stay here again.

What a great find! Spectacular views from the terrace. We had the room up the very top and it was spacious and very comfortable. Like in many of these historic towns, you’ll need to leave your car in a car park and either walk or ask for a taxi to collect you. Try to take minimal luggage!

We had an incredible stay at La Casa Grande. Comfortable room, beautiful views, great food and the staff that went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. Will definitely be back.
