I
spent
9
nights
with
Almu
and
Juan
in
September,
2019.
After
a
hectic,
but
wonderful
week
in
Lisbon
trying
to
keep
up
with
3
friends,
I
was
travelling
on
my
own
in
Spain.
I
was
looking
for
a
small,
quiet
country
accommodation
suitably
located
for
day
tours
to
the
surrounding
countryside.El
Fogon
fit
the
bill.
Because
I
have
some
physical
limitations,
Almu
and
Juan
booked
me
into
a
ground
floor
room.
It
was
a
large
room
with
a
king
bed
that
could
have
been
divided
into
twins,
a
huge
bathroom,
flat
screen
TTV,
coffee/tea
station
with
refrigerator,
air
conditioning,
and
a
huge
double
sinked
bathroom
with
an
incredible
"Roman"
shower.
Beautifully
decorated,
it
had
tile
floors,
huge
closets,
and
beamed
ceilings,
and
I
was
amazingly
comfortable
during
my
stay.
I
even
had
a
table
and
chairs
on
a
vine
covered
veranda
just
outside
the
door!
Almu
and
Juan
were
available
in
an
instant
if
I
needed
anything.
They
even
checked
on
me
on
the
2
days
I
"slept
in"
to
make
sure
I
was
OK.(A
real
comfort
for
a
senior
citizen
traveling
alone.)
Almu
gave
me
brochures
and
tons
of
advice
on
places
to
visit;
Juan
gracefully
answered
my
hundred
questions
about
different
aspects
of
life
in
Andalucia.
Breakfast
is
available
at
El
Fogon,
but
I
passed
since
I
sleep
late.
I
did
have
dinner
cooked
by
Almu
and
served
by
Juan
on
several
nights.
Almu
cooked
vegetarian
meals
for
me
(4
courses
for
15
-20
Euros)
and
they
were
definitely
the
best
meals
I
had
in
Spain.
The
only
thing
I
would
change
about
my
stay
is
that
I
should
have
had
dinner
there
every
night.
There
are
3
house
dogs
that
Almu
and
Juan
take
pains
to
keep
away
from
the
guests,
if
necessary.
But
I
so
looked
forward
to
playing
with
them
since
I
missed
my
little
guy
so
much.
All
in
all,
one
of
the
best
experiences
I
have
had
in
travel
was
my
stay
at
El
Fogon.
I
can
only
hope
I
am
able
to
return
in
future
for
another
fabulous
stay!
