Pleasantly surprised. The managers and staff are so kind and informative. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water upon arrival. I loved the large, mini studio room, comfortable bed, full length mirror, sofa bed, great shower head and temperature, the kitchen came equipped with all the necessities and an oven. Breakfast was spectacular with fresh fruit, eggs, biscuits, waffles, oatmeal and more. A very nice spread. The pool was very small, not one I wanted to dip into. But all else was a great experience.

Gross. That’s the word to describe this place. No pride from the ownership/manager that is evident in everything from the moment of walking up to and into the room. Closet door crooked, off rail. Decor so horrid I don’t know where to begin. Dirty! On the bathroom floor I can’t tell if it’s dried vomit or beef stew. Not likely it’s beef stew. Cheapest lowest quality amenities (shampoo/soaps) I’ve seen. The front desk clerk- wonderful. She deserves to work in a nicer place than this. Marriott and Manager should be utterly ashamed.

The room had a weird smell. I had already changed rooms because the first one smelled like cigarettes. It was spacious but a little outdated. I only stayed one night but probably wouldn't want to stay longer than that. The staff at check-in and breakfast were really friendly and attentive. Overall, it had excellent service, but rooms could use some upgrades.

Disgusting hotel, they have roaches. They tried to downplay it & refused to take any accountability or refund/compensation. They just made excuses, and blamed it on the rooms being outside. the rooms carpet is in desperate need of a deep clean. Who knows what you would find in the carpet. They also make you sign a paper with a bunch of rules saying they will kick you out with no refund if they hear any noise. Which gives low end trashy motel vibes. Of course this is AFTER you made the reservation and pay. The water would not shut off so it ran all night. It’s clear they cut corners here & for what? #1 this is a Marriott #2. They charge like $150 a night. I called corporate because this hotel is not up to par with Marriott standards and I did not appreciate the dismissive and zero accountability by management.

I’m surprised this hotel is even still able to host a Marriott flag. The hotel and all of its amenities are at the end of its life. I’m not a complainer but I would not recommend this hotel. I chose this property because of the spacious rooms and was traveling with a pack and play as I passed through on a road trip. It wasn’t worth it. The water heater ran all night and the hvac made so much noise it woke our whole family up every time it kicked on. I should have stayed at the courtyard which was the same price. The hotels only saving grace was the breakfast staff went above and beyond. Worst Stay at a Marriott hotel ever in my 500 nights with Marriott.

My recent stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo was unfortunately less than satisfactory. The one positive aspect was the front desk staff, particularly one gentleman who was exceptionally nice and tried his best to be helpful. However, the issues we encountered overshadowed this. Upon arrival, my wife and I were first assigned a room that was spacious but had an overwhelming smell of smoke. Despite the cleanliness and size, the odor was unbearable. I immediately contacted the front desk to address the issue, hoping for a quick solution such as housekeeping assistance. To my disappointment, I was informed that housekeeping had left for the day, and the only option was to change rooms. Needing a solution, I returned to the lobby to get a new room. The front desk clerk, though amiable, was noticeably slow and seemed quite nervous, especially while handling another guest's request. Time was of the essence for us, as we had a party to attend at 6 PM, and it was already 4 PM when we first arrived. It was not until 5 PM that I received the keys to our second room. To add to the frustration, the doors to this new room simply wouldn't open after several attempts. I headed back to the front desk, visibly upset by now, only to find it busy with other guests. Meanwhile, I noticed several housekeepers still around, which was confusing given the earlier response about housekeeping being unavailable. Ultimately, overwhelmed by the series of inconveniences and the pressing time, I requested the front desk to cancel our booking. We decided to switch to another Marriott location downtown, where thankfully, the service was significantly better, living up to the standards one would expect from Marriott. This experience at the Residence Inn by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo was a letdown, especially considering the brand's reputation for quality service and accommodation.

Stayed here for CIM and was worried with some of the reviews I read, but it was a nice little place. Check-in was quick and easy, staff was always polite and helpful with any needs we had. Yes the units are older and could use some renovations, but really nothing in our room was to the point of this is bad. Pros: Location is good and it's pretty quick to get downtown or to other tourist attractions. Room was clean and quiet for the most part. Free breakfast. Kitchen in the room, which is nice for families. Cons: The carpet could use a steam clean, my 1 year old was pretty dirty from crawling around. Road noise, but really not much of an issue.

Don’t let the photos fool you. Not impressed with the room. First of all, it’s outdated. Room looks old with old furniture and bedding. We got the upstairs with an extra open room upstairs, but no privacy. Both rooms has no doors. One tv in a room & not in the living’s area. Kitchen is small & outdated. The heater doesn’t even heat up fast. We had the heat on all night & still didn’t work. The only good thing is it’s a quiet area. Thank for we stayed for a night only. Won’t be coming back to this place.

We stayed here 3 nights. The first room we booked we in the back of the property.. worst mistake ever!! These rooms are so beat up it reminded me of a Motel 6.. the beds were so squeaky and uncomfortable, holes in the curtains, huge gaps under the doorway, and the room stunk. We were so tired we endured the first night but asked them for a new room which they granted.. there were people in the parking lot doing major automotive work, there was a big argument between customers in the lobby, the grounds were in poor condition, and it feels unsafe. This used to be a great place to stay.. too bad it's been run into the ground. I'm giving it 2 stars because the staff was awesome.

The check in process was easy enough. The room was big and spacious and the property was relatively quiet. The rooms are extremely dated - clearly hasn’t been renovated for a very long time. Has a pretty dingy vibe. There were no trash cans whatsoever in the room. The bed was rickety and uncomfortable. The central air was impossible to operate. I was rather disappointed. Not a property that I would associate with Marriott. Doesn’t Compare to the other Sacramento -residence inn. I probably wouldn’t recommend this

Not the greatest location and the appearance is little to be desired. Could use a serious facelift makeover. The gym was not available. The doors look like they've been broken into. The employees were super friendly, courteous, kind, and professional. The free breakfast in the mornings was great and much appreciated. Rooms were spacious and clean although furniture could use modern upgrades. Recommend for say construction workers, contractors, and or business professionals for long term stays and or just for quick business meetings like I was there for.

I needed a shower for someone with disabilities. The 2 rooms that were disability accessible were taken, but I was assured that the bathtub had handrails inside of it. No it did not. It was also extremely loud from drunken neighbors who were awake through the night, talking, laughing, screaming and carrying on. The problems surrounded me!! Upstairs and on either side of me were partying people. There's a sheet of paper that has to be signed that informs tenants to keep noise levels down. It was so loud that I wasn't able to sleep at all and had a Dr's appointment early the next morning. I loved the big room. It was clean and had a nice kitchen, but due to the other issues, I'd pass.

Great staff, but rooms arent as good as i expected. Almost everything is broken or damaged and the floor plan with the furniture makes NO sense at all. Great centralized location by expo center.

Parking can be a hassle, an on occasion some some of the clientele that chooses to stay can be it cost for concern. And while you can't turn away people that meet your registration needs and criteria sometimes it would just be better to be tactful than to allow a group of people to stay and they disrupt and seriously give you cause for concern for your safety. Sometimes people really do change the atmosphere and your view of an establishment and whether or not it is safe comfortable in a place that you want to return to.

Length of stay = 1 month NOISE: the hotel is quiet most days unless you have group that wanted to party. That is usually Saturdays. Call the front desk and they will handle the rowdy group. I appreciated them addressing my complaint and not ignoring it. 1ST FLOOR VS 2ND FLOOR: try to get a 2nd floor room. I had a 1st floor room and you can hear every foot step from the people above you. Not ideal. Bring earplugs. HOT WATER: was pretty much non existent except in the shower. For the life of me, I had trouble getting hot water in the bathroom to wash my face or in the kitchen to do dishes. The shower was great. Nice pressure. INTERNET: Alittle spotty. I would get kicked off or get the spinning wheel. the internet was meh. you could pay for faster internet if you wanted too. i opted not too. KEY CARDS: the key cards managed to get demagnetized easily. you were warned to keep the hotel card key away from your car keys, phone or any electronic devices. otherwise, you would have to go back to the office and have them re-keyed. COMPLIMENTRY BREAKFAST: probably the best part of the hotel stay. amazing breakfast every morning. you will not be disappointed. i think i gained some weight being here for a month :( STAFF: everyone was friendly, courteous and accommodating. there was this one employee, Vi (Violet) that really impressed me. she's a hard worker, respectful, acknowledged every person that came for breakfast, kept things clean & tidy, and took your plate. Just superb work ethics all around. She was always doing something, never on her phone or chatting with other staff members. You were her main focus. Vi stood out to me during my stay. COST: I can't really comment on the pricing. I was at the hotel due to roof leak in my apartment. So, i wasn't paying for the hotel during my stay.

I should have read the reviews before booking smh. This hotel is completely outdated and dirty. I walked in the room and literally was like nope I won’t be able to do this. It smelled really old. It was dusty. The furniture was dirty. The carpet was old and worn. I can tolerate a lot, but I must say this was too much. I didn’t even wanna sit down. Felt like I’d leave with bed bugs or something. Now I will say the staff was really nice and accommodating when I requested a refund. There were no questions asked. Which I appreciated. Needless to say I didn’t stay there and needed to make other arrangements which was frustrating. I’ve included a picture of the carpet in the room. As well as the chair that was clearly not cleaned. Smh.

I've known this hotel has been here for years, but now that I've tried it, I can't quit. The staff is top notch, very service oriented, smiling, happy to help and on top of their game. Zach the overnight guy was amazing.... I've never seen the graveyard person as knowledgeable and eagar to help. The jewel though.... Is VIE? She's the breakfast general. Every hotel needs one just like her. She keeps plenty of food the entire breakfast period. Plenty of seats.... She is on top of clearing and cleaning.... To top it off, she is such a sweetheart. She makes the visit worth it.

Great location. Great hospitality. Clean and fresh smelling. Very spacious suites. The sheets are lovely letting light in the rooms. The staff are amazing- kat and Linda were outstanding!!! The place is well maintained. The grounds are clean and staff seem motivated. Storage is great in the rooms. Linen smells good Breakfast was very good. Staff out there looked cheerful and were helpful On the same note - some pointe for improvement The rooms are old and decor dated. The grounds look boring. Sacramento can have great flowers and plants. A lot of succulents is my suggestion. The car park is spacious but can look better. No effort is being made to Save Our Eartg. Too many plastic products at breakfast and in the rooms. They have plastic cups and bowls. Please replace with paper. It is biodegradable. No re-fillable toiletries. Hilton and Hyatt are following this. It’s high time Marriott’s does this !!!!! I came here for a Bridgd tournament. Was very pleased with the stay. The location was nice surrounded by great eating places. Rajani

They charge 150.00 flat non refundable fee for dogs, regardless of how long you are going to stay there. The guy at the front desk was super nice and you could tell he did not like having to charge as much as he did for the dog. Hotel room was meh, outdated. No plug by the one table in the room so hard to plug in your computer if you needed to. Will not stay at that hotel again and usually I like Residence Inn.

Stayed at the Residence Inn for a night, before traveling out of SMF. The check-in process took a while and our group was very patience. The area around the hotel seems a little unsafe and I felt safe while staying here. Only giving 4 stars because I found a piece of hair in the shower.

Rooms are a bit worn. Gym has been closed for a while. Breakfast was good with numerous options. Staff was both friendly and efficient.

Service is excellent. Breakfast is really good, and staff make an amazing effort keeping the food fresh and the area clean. Rooms were nice. Not sure why so many people appear to be living here, parking lot is always full, but hey, who am I to judge? I wish I could afford to live in a hotel. No daily housekeeping. It's hard to find a clean, safe hotel in Sacramento, so I'd stay here again.

Our room was clean and quiet but some things were broken or not maintained. They are building a new Residence Inn nearby and are not putting a lot of energy into this one. But rooms are comfortable and location is good. We also appreciated the breakfast buffet.

Clean Rooms. Was very quiet on a Friday night. Breakfast was one of the best I've seen, multiple hot items, every drink option, as well as a stocked fruit bar. The breakfast attendant was very friendly & helpful. Wi-Fi wasn't the greatest, with a high speed for daily purchase available.

This is kind of a weird place in a weird area. I’m not sure how it is a Marriott, because there are people living here for very extended stays. I will speak for my own personal experience that the front desk service was excellent. The breakfast was excellent, but the rooms were very dated.

Hi Our stay was not as expected. The room was very DIRTY, hair all over the bathrooms. It smelled like a DIRTY DIAPER so badly that it woke me up in the middle of the night YUCK! The refrigerator was still gross from the person before us, the ceiling fan was very dusty and we had to request clean linens because ours had spit stains on the polliws and hair in the bed. There was a noisy BARKING DOG next door. The curtains did not close well enough to block out the bright street lights and there was not ENOUGH parking near the building so we had to walk several buildings down from where we parked. The neighborhood was sketchy and felt generally unsafe. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else for the VERY HIGH PRICE! PLUS IT STUNK HORRIBLY. and the pool was closed for "Maintenance" and furniture was ratty. Good luck is what you'll need if you waste your money here.

We were greeted by very friendly staff that were helpful and considerate. The hotel was quiet despite being in a busy area. Plenty of shops and dining choices. The room was a bit older. The bathroom had a few spots where repairs were needed. The couch was a bit uncomfortable. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

My flight got rebooked and I had to check in the day after. The staff accommodated the change and didn't charge me for the night I missed. Thanks The room itself was great too. The inn is arranged like an apartment complex with separate units, and each room is basically a small studio apartment with a kitchen and desk. I had a very comfortable stay

  • 5/5 M. D. 1 year ago on Google
I was welcomed by the staff and given clear directions to my room. A kitchenette awaited me with dishes, soap, glasses, and a full sized fridge. A dishwasher, stove, microwave, and garbage disposal CAME WITH THE ROOM! A nice place to stay if you want to get away

  • 4/5 Aaron H. B. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly and helpful staff. Full kitchen includes all units. Good swimming pool and patio. Pleasant grounds. No elevators for second floor studios. Ground floor efficiency rooms are large and resemble a studio without a separation.

I normally stay at Marriotts but this was the oldest and run down hotel I have stayed at for them. Gym was closed and so was their business center. I had to email what I wanted to print out. She was very helpful. The room is spacious but very old and run down. My screen door was off or broken as you can see. At least it was very clean. They are planning to build a new one. Location is good too.
