👍👍 Wonderful café that kept it real and simple despite the fame. All kinds of locals, young and old, reading books, newspapers, and drawing like old times. The capuccino was on par, and the server was charming. People often mention coffee,

📝 Super cool and super authentic coffee place with a few eating options, a bodegon-like atmosphere and kind service. ☕ Coffee was good: the specialty here is that they create cute and original drawings on the foam. The medialunas with jamon y queso that we had here were amongst the best ones in Buenos Aires. ☝🏼 Don't get discouraged if the place is full and wait that a table gets available: it'll be worth it.

One of the “bares notables” we visited during our stay in Buenos Aires. It is not one of the most famous ones but you should visit this place if you want to see an untouched place to witness the history of the city. It was founded in 1950. It feels like going back in time if there won’t be anyone using phone or pc inside the cafe. We had a ricotta cake and coffee, all was great. The service and staff was friendly. Very close to Palermo and I think worths a visit.

Does perfection exist? Sitting with a book and a big beer at Varela Varelita sure comes close to it.

A Blast from the Past! If you are feeling nostalgic for the genuine experience of the old days, this is the place. It's like the land that time forgot - and it is easy to forget about time during your visit. A true, basic cafe and bar serving a small selection of sandwiches and all essential drinks. You can relax in conversation with your companions and the hours will effortlessly slip past. You will not look like the regulars but they will welcome you all the same.

Varela Varelita represents the typical Argentine local bar. What we would call in Spanish 'Café de barrio'. Well outside the tourist path, it provides an authentic experience. The food is basic and not very tasty and the coffee is below European standard. However, Varal Varelita is a good place to taste some the local favourite alcoholic beverages: Fernet with cola, Cinzano and of course, 'Quilmes' beer. This is the place to go if you want to eat like a local. Unpretentious, with reliably tasty (and affordable) food. It became our favorite spot for coffee & croissants, reading a book and just relaxing. Their tostadas, empanadas and Milanese (schnitzel) sandwich were excellent too. Ajshalyn (spelling?) went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She even greeted us by name on our 2nd (of 5) visits over our 2-week stay in Buenos Aires. If you like friendly, relaxed places, go here.

The best Café I've ever been to and I am from Vienna. It has a really welcoming vibe and a familiar, chill atmosphere. Furthermore the service is as nice and lovely as the food. ❤️

Absolutely loved this place! I came for a coffee with art on top of it. My waiter exceed my expectations and made me laugh in the process. I would highly recommend giving this place a try. Great coffee and medialunas.

Cozy place with a long tango tradition and coffee art included. Not outstanding, but beautiful indeed.

Typical bar de barrio with decor that has been untouched for many years and clients that look like they come here every day. Menu is simple with very good and tasty sandwiches. Perfect place to watch the day go by.

👍👍 One of the best ice creams I've ever tasted. I also tried other brands like Mamushka, Turista, etc. but I always go back to this store for their chocolates and ice creams.
