Great place to go for a little hike and for taking photos. It is $4 to park in the parking lot but they do accept credit or cash. The lady at the desk (so sorry that I forgot your name, you were lovely!) was really nice and informative. Even told me where the prime spots were for photos even though the waterfall was dried up. Even encountered a family of turkeys while I was there. The people I came across were friendly as well.

Wehr Nature Center has several miles of trails that range from prairie to marsh, forest to grassland. At the center of the park is a small lake. Some of the trails are handicap-accessible. The park is free; parking is $4. The park's trails are open year-around.

A great nature center! Plenty of parking ($4). 5 mi of trails. 1.5 mi loop around the lake. About 200 acres. Accessible boardwalk. Within Whitnall park and adjacent to botanical gardens. Wedding venue. Membership provides free parking, discounts in gift shop and newsletter. Bird and wildlife watchers/photographers will love it!

Always a wonderful experience at Whitnall Park. Hiking around Mallard Pond, sledding at the golf course, cross country skiing, the waterfall...today my wife and I put the crampons on our feet, grabbed the camera and went hiking and got a few good shots.

Really cool place. Our first visit was on Cider Sunday which was a phenomenal event! Loved all the trails. They are open year round and have tons of events. We became members and the price for an annual membership was so reasonable and the costs for the events are also very reasonable. Great local place, an oasis in the city. Beautiful way to get away from screens and out into nature.

Wehr Maple Sugar Days takes place in March. Ideal for adults and children of all ages, the event includes seeing an old-time pioneer camp, learning how to identify maple trees, trying your hand at drilling a tree, sampling maple sugar and maple syrup with a pancake. Instructions and tools for making your own maple syrup are covered too.

There are always things to do at the Wehr Nature Center. I’m grateful for their willingness to share their love of nature and how to be attuned to it. Lovely grounds and staff. Some sweet families on the trails too.

The Wehr Nature Center is a true gem for all southeastern Wisconsin residents and we are so fortunate to have access to it. I absolutely love immersing myself into the beauty of nature while walking around the lake. Numerous species of birds, along with turtles, fish, sand cranes and more are what you might come a peas on your way.

Went here for the first time. A really nice place to walk / hike around and the scenery is great. There's an information center at the Wehr Nature Center where you can go in to get more info and restrooms are available.

The trail and outdoor section is beautiful. I found the parts of center inside to be a bit off putting (the fish tank was dirty and the honey bee section with all the dead bees at the bottom). My daughter even noticed these things. Just thought I'd mention it.

This is a must in Milwaukee county. The park is beautifully unique and has away of bringing a sense of calm and tranquility over you, all the while there's a tree you can walk onto and have an awesome spot for a pic with the fam! This is def a 10\10 and what can be explored.... Is up too you!

My son’s birthday party was at the Wehr Nature Center and we were very pleased! The value for money is great. You’ll get a dedicated room, stories, animal encounters, a craft and a nature walk. It was great to have an option of something different! My son said it was the best party ever.

Lovely trails that are easy to walk on. Beautiful variety of wildflowers including bluebells, red and white trillium, dog toothed adder. Lots of a large variety of birds including red tailed hawk, woodpeckers cardinals finches. The kids play area was outstanding. A tiny cabin, a woodshed, and a sandy area and a whole lot of tree rounds sparked all kinds of imaginative play in my 3 and 9 year old granddaughters. Nice benches and boundary delineation so it was easy on this grandma’s legs. We will return often.

We had a birthday party here and Howard was absolutely amazing with the kids. Everyone had so much fun and left with a big smile. The facility is spacious and comfortable. The kids were fully engaged and can’t wait to go back and check out their regular program offerings.

Our family has been coming to Wehr for years for various programs, events, and hikes and always enjoyed ourselves! When we were thinking about having our wedding ceremony, we thought this would be a wonderful location, and we were right! We just had our wedding ceremony at Wehr and I could not recommend it enough! We were able to rent out the pier and everything turned out beautifully! Very easy to work with and coordinate with for planning as well! I cannot thank them enough for helping with our wedding day!!

Wonderful place to view wildlife, and hike in the woods. There is a parking fee of $3 or $4. It is free to hike around. They also have programs that do charge small amounts to attend. See their website.
