Consistently fresh and delicious. Nice people too! Dine in and take out are both fantastic. Very clean restaurant.

Typically I get the ... idk what's it called but sushimi (chef choice) and the rice is always steller and the fish is perfect. The rice is steller and one of few places with Ramune. I dont think I've ever had a bad meal. Considering how seldom it is to find good sushi in general I feel lucky to have an exceptional sushi restaurant three blocks away from home.

Food is extremely good! The place and the service is also exceptional. Came upstate for vacation and stopped by here for lunch. Definitely recommend :)

Their location is very close to Vassar College, so we dined with kids at this restaurant every time we visit the school. And they named sushi rolls with very interesting names. But it’s hard for me to tell what kind of fishes or ingredients by just looking at the pictures( Vassar roll?). Make sure you ask them to clarify.

Tokyo Express is my favorite sushi place in Poughkeepsie. For the past two years, we've ordered from here 1-2 times per month and the food is perfect every time. I can heartily recommend all of their sushi (the A+B+C Express is my go-to meal), appetizers, and bubble teas. I've also been happy with their COVID protocols throughout the pandemic -- they were one of the few places we felt really comfortable getting takeout from at the heights of the pandemic because of the contactless pickup window.

The teriyaki chicken was so salty. Planned to dine in there, but they only open for take out.

The worst service I ever seen... especially the lady serving on the window.. very rude.. waiting time is to long.. if they told you few mnts that means 20 mnts... there English s so bad..

I never leave reviews but this place deserves it. Nothing in the neighborhood compares. The sushi rice, the presentation, the quality and skill is superb. The entrees taste good as well. I keep coming back. You won’t regret it!

I have been going to this Sushi Rest since it first opened , back when it was a very very small place.........My Business travels have taken me across the country & I have never found a better place...........I have NEVER had a bad meal from Tokyo Express...........The icing on the cake , the owners are over the top friendly & nice , always.............this will always be my favorite rest.................always. place is horrible as far as take out he gives you all left over junk that's small instead of a piece of food I called him he says he's food is the best maybe if you deliver real food and not left over I'm sure if you dine you get real food. not left overs no spoons no forks no napkins he save on it all. good luck we found a place around the corner sushi village awesome the way take out should be soup and salad by the way with a fork napkin and spoon.

We ate at Tokyo Express last Saturday after ordering from DoorDash a week earlier. All I can say is WOW! This is what Japanese food is supposed to taste like. Real tender, juicy and delicious rib eye used to make the Beef Negimaki. The sushi could not have been tastier or fresher. The Shrimp Tempura were very large and fried perfectly with just the right amount of tempura. This was a real treat that we will be back for time and time again. It shows that this restaurant takes great pride in their food. Thank you so much for this experience!
