👍 I visited this place twice within couple of weeks. I like this restaurant a lot from my first visit! Their handmade wide noodle dishes are excellent. However, the second time I visited, almost all the dishes we ordered were all too salty. Flavors are there but just too salty. People often mention lamb, dishes, soup, beef, noodles, flavor, ordered, spicy, time, restaurant,

Called ahead and ordered a spicy lamb hot hot for pick up. I show up and I let the lady at the front register know that I'm picking up a phone order for a spicy lamb hot pot. She give me like typical styrofoam box. I'm confused because this is not what a lamb hot pot is suppose to look like. I ask "Is this the spicy lamb pot hot"? Lady says "yes". I ask "Doesn't a hot pot usually comes with soup"? Lady says "This is how they come when it's to-go". I ask "Shouldn't there be soup that goes with this"? If if packed separately then one container for items and one container for soup would be standard. Lady responds "no" clearly annoyed with me. So I pay for the item and I leave. I open the box and it's clearly not anything resembling spicy hot pot. Not sure what it is. Money and time wasted and I'm never returning and never recommending. Restaurant staff is incompetent and unfriendly. Maybe you'll have a better experience but mine was so bad I will never attempt again.

This is a very authentic Henan restaurant. It has very delicious Henan cuisine. I can say with great certainty that this restaurant is the single best Central Chinese cuisine. Their noodles are on top of me every time I come over. Everything is so delicious. It makes me homesick every time I come.

Randomly found this restaurant near Santa fe springs. We ordered wonton soup and beef soup with thick noodle. I really liked thick noodles. It almost tasted like Sujebi korean homemade soup. 😋

It was an interesting visit this time around. I had the fried fish (may air fried), fresh veggies (the Bok Choy seems like it was only the leafy part) & shredded potatoes (with a different twist) and 2 Bowls of rice. It came to $52 and change. I really had a hard time having dinner tonight. I guess it was not to my liking. I'm the kind of person who likes everything. Sometimes I guess I just ordered some dishes that the Chef likes but not popular to the general public. But I did notice almost everyone who enjoyed their dinner ordered individual soups. I think these are the most popular dishes here. They run around $14 and up. I hope I just came on a bad night. I really enjoy eating out and helping those who do find a place to come back again and again. Did anyone else have a different opinion? Thanks!

Shang Jie Kitchen is a hidden gem in Artesia, California, offering a taste of authentic Henan cuisine that will transport you to the heart of China. Their dishes are bursting with flavor, from the tender lamb and cumin dish to the savory beef with bamboo shoots and the juicy pork dumplings. Every bite is a symphony of spices and textures, a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. The lamb and cumin dish is a must-try, with the meat so tender it melts in your mouth. The cumin adds a unique depth of flavor, while the accompanying vegetables provide a refreshing contrast. The beef with bamboo shoots is another standout, with the bamboo adding a delicate crunch to the tender beef. And don't forget the pork dumplings – plump, juicy, and packed with flavor. While the food is the star of the show, the ambiance at Shang Jie Kitchen is also worth mentioning. The restaurant is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who are eager to make your dining experience memorable. A quick tip: Shang Jie Kitchen charges a 3.5% fee for debit and credit cards, so it's best to bring cash. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Henan cuisine, Shang Jie Kitchen is the place to be. Their flavorful dishes, warm ambiance, and friendly service will make you feel like you've stepped into a bustling Chinese eatery. Prepare to be delighted by the culinary treasures of Henan at Shang Jie Kitchen.

Came here looking to try something a little different and settled on this interesting Northern Chinese/Taiwanese place. They make and pull their noodles by hand and you can definitely taste the quality: the noodles are very, very long and have a wonderful springy, chewy texture. Their lamb soup broth was very clean and light and not too salty. Both lamb noodle dishes were excellent, and prices were pretty reasonable. Definitely coming back again! Edit: came back, tried their beef tendon noodle soup. Great noodles and a light but flavorful broth. Plenty of meat and tendon.

Great beef noodle soup gets 5 stars, but no hot tea available, causes me to downgrade in other areas.

The lamb noodle soup is delicious but very greasy; better to dine in otherwise can have pretty strong flavor (of course you can always reheat/ microwave if it’s a takeout order). All the dishes are tasty and with very fair price. The merchant charges 3.5% for credit card processing fee.

I really hate that, at midnight I suddenly remember their lamb biscuit(yang rou jia mo?). It's sooooo good, my mouth waters remembering the spicy soft lamb inside a-crispy on the outside, soft in the inside-bun. I wish they were open 24 hours. Their xiaolongbao is also very good, more savory than the nearby places(Lunasia or Northern Cafe).

Haven't been to this restaurant since I moved away from Cerritos about 5 years ago. I was excited to grab some take out after errands. I was pleasantly surprised that the parking lot was expanded. I chose a beef roll and the spicy wontons. I was a bit annoyed when they charged 3.5% for credit card purchase, but I literally had no cash. The food was just okay. Both dishes were just too salty. The beef roll pancake was lacking in color. The meat was quite chewy. The ratio of meat to pickled vegetables wasn't quite right and the sweet sauce was lacking.

Very impressive food. It's really hard to find good Chinese food in America, but this place is one that I would actually come back to. The service is quick as well, though I suppose it is a little bit weird that they gave us disposable chopsticks.

Its formally known as Liang Ma Ma; however the dishes are totally different now. Right now the dishes has more Mainland China taste. If you like heavy chili oil and flavor; this is great place for you. Price is acceptable, you are looking around 10~15/ person with enough food to stuff you out.

I usually only write critiques for places I absolutely hated, but man this place is THE place to go for Northern Chinese cuisine. Beef noodles are great, the lamb noodles explain why there is a goat sign outside(their specialty). The ONLY thing I can complain about is that their 小菜 isn't the greatest. Seaweed is too sour for me personally and sometimes the pig ears are bland.

Mediocre but edible did. Ok service but not friendly. Food lacks flavor. Wouldn't hurt if the servers & workers smiled a bit...

Hand pulled noodles in rich pork broth with a variety of toppings? How can you go wrong? We also ordered Xiao Long Bao which had a very deep pork flavor unlike I’ve ever had. Service maybe isn’t the best, but I expect that from a place like this. It’s good no frills food with great flavor. We also ordered a plate of things off the pickle(?not sure what else to call it) bar - lightly vinegared tofu skin, garlic wood ear mushrooms and some kind of marinated meat. Stellar meal.
