We paid for a sea side apartment it was not cheap, in fact we thought we paid for one of the more expensive accommodations. When we arrived the staff were friendly enough which was a nice start. When we eventually found our apartment, it was pretty shabby. We was not expecting the Ritz or anything close, but we were hoping it was hygienic and clean. There was no baking trays so when we bought pizza and ribs for dinner we found it tricky to cook. The apartment just needed a deep clean, it was clean on the surface but just don't look too closely it will make you feel a little uncomfortable. The bed was lumpy and sleep was not sweet. To their credit, they had someone come and clean during our visit and refresh the towels. The swimming pool was fun and the kids really enjoyed the slides, the changing rooms... Sorry again don't look too closely. I am not a clean freak, but do like things hygienic. Overall the staff were friendly and happy to help. Final words would be, a friendly place to stay but they really need a overhaul with their apartments, we will be going back to Haven next year.

Haven't been since was a child but the adult only 80s weekend was fun. It's really clean and well kept. The food is all average but it's edible. Swimming pool was really good. All round I was amazed at the quality. Would recommended for families or adult only.

What a weekend! I don't normally leave reviews but I have honestly had such an amazing experience that it needs mentioning. Originally I was booking for 36 people. There was cancellation, room upgrades, brunches , spas and dining. They have been so patient and helpful with all the changes, incredibly understanding and kind on the phone. Booking and checking in, all staff were impeccable. The actual experience of being there , I have never danced and laughed so much in my life! You couldn't go hungry if you tried and all the food was so good! The rest of the crowd were all such a good bunch , everyone was just there to have a good old boogie. The atmosphere was amazing! Freddie Mercury at the bingo was hilarious and I would come back for him if nothing else. Thank you Everything was spot on ! Absolutely no complaints. Thank you for a wicked weekend !

Very hard to review as the kids had a wonderful time but for me personally the general cleanliness of the whole place was a big issue. The hotel corridors didn't smell very pleasant, very grubby carpets in communal areas, the room itself still contained rubbish from previous occupants in drawers and cupboards and behind the sofa. The bathroom floor was very dusty and hadn't been cleaned very well. Sofa was stained as was the carpet and the fridge was generally grubby. The room did have a fantastic view of the sea and we were checked in early which was a nice surprise. If the lines at reception hadn't been so big I would probably have complained about the room but I have it a wipe down with some wet wipes and got on with it. Around the grounds there were cigarette butts and litter. The restaurants that had recently been refurbished (Firehouse and Fish&Chips) were pretty clean but the hotel (Shoreline) restaurant tables and chairs were always sticky and greasy in the mornings, the floors under the tables looked barely cleaned at all. The saving grace of this place is the staff who are all wonderful and welcoming and the activities for kids. The pool is great although on three of the 4 days we visited areas were closed sporadically because of kids pooing in certain pools. The shows were lovely and the entertainment has something for everyone. I just wish the hygiene and cleanliness standards were as good. We did the Dinearound which I would recommend. Made mealtimes easy and we enjoyed all the meals particularly Papa John's and Firehouse.

The room was clean and comfortable. The entertainment was very much for under 10 years old, which in our case was fine as we were with our 5 year old granddaughter. We had the food meal plan, which ok we had better before. The queues for the rides were quite long some times, and some were extra to pay for. The queues for the swimming pool flumes were silly long due to the number of people allowed into the pool at one time. On a whole, our granddaughter enjoyed it and would like to return again. Staff is very friendly and helpful .

When we checked in to Ocean Hotel but we had some problems with the room. We called guest services and we had been told nothing can be done apart from cleaning the room again. We went to reception and spoke with the Claire who was amazing and saved our little break away! We was allocated another room which was perfect, the view was amazing! We looked out over the Ocean and the Fairground. Location of the hotel was great, right next to the fairground and a short walk to the sky line and surrounding venues. The shows in the evening were good, and the daytime entertainment was good if you have small children! Lots to do on site and a the swimming pool was good too. Only problem whilst we was there was there where to many people on site. Everywhere was crowded, the pool was constantly packed and we had to wait up to 45 minutes for a slide. Other guests would push in the line and the lifeguards just said "there is nothing we can do". With this in mind it was comforting hand sanitizer stations are everywhere. The food was OK, again because it was so busy it was hard to enjoy the ambiance with screaming kids next to us. Breakfast buffets are also good but again small kids sticking there fingers in food was enough to put me off. The food we did have was good though, and I would definitely recommend the Firehouse Grill! Also a shout out to Melissa and Nicola for our towel animals every time they serviced our room. We always looked forward to coming back to see what we would have next! Overall a good little break, but would not recommend for couples and adults. It's very good for a family break with small kids.

A brilliant place to go on holiday to. Plenty for everyone to do, kids old and young alike. The funfair is certainly a highlight, with many old school attractions, including waltzers, chair planes, merry go round and dodgems. The waterpark is a nice and fun addition to the resort, the kids can spend hours there. There are plenty of good options for food, our favourite was the Beachcomber Inn, which served classic pub style food. You're a stone's throw away from the beach, the entertainment put on was very enjoyable. We stayed in the ocean hotel, which was a very nicely maintained hotel, very clean with helpful staff on hand. There's a small supermarket on site to help with any supplies you need. We would happily go back again.

Have visited this site every year for the past 6 years but unfortunately think this year may be the last. We booked a weekend for the festivities. Unfortunately I found the shows over subscribed and disappointing. We visited the swimming pool as it opened and within 15 minutes it was absolutely packed, so much we had to leave as it felt not enough room to move in the pools. Maybe the booking system should be brought back? Also a SEN session would be great, my 5 year old is autistic and struggled with the heavy crowds. Overall actually would be great if they catered a little more for SEN, maybe a way to avoid having wait in lines for ages even if prebooking shows and events. The fairground was very disappointing despite a mild dry December weekend only a few rides were open. The staff on the game stalls said staff had unexpectedly handed in their notice or something, there were no rides open for little ones only the dodgems and another faster ride. We stayed in the gold accommodation which seemed to have had an overhaul new kitchen and carpets which was an improvement, although the heater in the living room was broke. Will look for alternatives for next year.

We went in school holidays with extended family. Our kids are aged 4 and 2. Loads for the 4 year old to do. Less so for the 2 year old but he loved the swimming pool which is well equipped for all ages and has very spacious changing facilities and lockers. Lots of entertainment on, so most people will find something they like. If you like wine that isn't bargain basement, best to bring your own. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms did the job (Oyster Bay) but could have been cleaner. Just needed to steer my children's eyes away from a brawl in the food court and the many arcade machines.

My daughter loved the holiday here. She had a lot of fun. The entertainments are great. It’s very convenient to walk from accommodation to various activities. The main problem we had with the place is that the room is too dirty, floor was filthy on arrival and not hoovered after room cleaning service. Similar story in the dining area, carpet is full of stains, some areas sticky when you walk on it. Staff are nice, friendly and helpful. There’s a genuine cheerful and happy atmosphere everywhere. Food is not great, although there are good options, but everything slightly lack quality in execution, the cheese had dry edges on and ham was grey, salad leafs dried out slightly, sausage cooked a bit uneven, some burnt quite a lot, some underdone. Despite all the complains, my daughter really wants to go back there for our next holiday, so, we will be back there, hope the management will see the reviews and improve the cleaning and food! My daughter gave the place 5 stars, but it’s a 2 from the adults, so average for 3 for now. Look forward to checking it out next time!

Had a lovely holiday with our 2 year old daughter. Lots of rides, play activities and shows which were mostly free. Height restrictions on some rides (minimum 0.9m or 1.2m). On site dining/drinks were reasonably priced and had good selection of restaurants/bars as well as a shop. Large amusement/arcade section with lots of pay for games and you could easily spend £30+ a day. Room was a good size as well as the bed and the balcony with a nice sea view. Separate children's bedroom with 2 beds, a TV and nicely decorated. Colour changing mood lighting in main room. The beach and town is right outside. Exhausting but a lot of fun.

I had a wonderful time here with my family! I would definitely recommend it. However, it is very pricey. I enjoyed most of my time at Splash Water world and I had an amazing time watching them perform Ariel the musical. Very entertaining and funny for the whole family. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!

Absolutely amazing place from start to finish. Great check in, very welcoming and warm, absolutely spotless rooms, we stayed at turtle Bay, great animation teams all over the place, lots to do to keep kids happy. Couldn't find any faults here. Can't wait to come back next year.

Stayed for the 90s reloaded weekender and had a great time. The Wave hotel where we stayed was really nice, the grounds are tidy with lots of amusements, bars, restaurants, a fairground, pool, & supermarket. Loved the silent disco, centre stage and skyline bar. Enjoyed the acts and fancy dress was hilarious (although when you're a hedgehog you don't really need a costume 😁🦔) all in all a great stay and we'll be back for another weekender

I visited as a day ticket to check out before deciding about staying. My Grand daughter is 5 but on the small size so ended up only going on 2 rides which was a huge disappointment. The Overall resort we felt is for maybe 8 upwards as can go on most things. We also decided it wasn't really our type holiday but most staying seemed to be having a good time.

Great weekend however check in wasn't what we were told. We had a big group and plans to decorate the rooms for the Hen. We ended up getting one key for each room and were told all others will be allocated as each person checks In. They'd also pre-allocated the rooms so we had to swap that around which caused more issues. We ended up with some rooms having just one key and some with the amount necessary. It was a big weekender for back to the Noughties.

Overall the activities and shows are brilliant, so much to do for the kids and they loved it. I personally loved electric city show but be warned if you don’t queue an hour before the show starts, you won’t get good seats and be very far back. Every member of staff I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. The pool was great but too busy, they even have day passes for people to attend and they can use the pool also, you have to queue to get in sometimes and inside it’s like packed sardines but again the kids loved it. Downside was the food, not good at all, we did stay in an apartment so only ate in the restaurants twice for dinner, if you don’t go to the hotel (I have heard good things about the hotel) bring as much food as possible. Brand new Costa was good. The apartment was also like being in a shanty town. Filthy carpet, black mould around, shower was rubbish, it was just a trickle and went cold quickly. Beds and sofa uncomfortable, the decor was also very dark and depressing, the only good thing about our 3 bed apartment was that it was a good size (apart from small bathroom). We were woken up every night by upstairs guests which wasn’t good, they were so loud. I would go back to Butlins but would only stay in the hotel.

We had a great Christmas break at Butlins. We stayed in one of the Seaside apartments which was compact but very clean and functional. Lots for small children to do without additional cost. Pool was brilliant fun and all spotlessly clean. Staff were all really helpful and friendly. A few parts of the resort are maybe a little tired looking, but based on value for money, really can't fault it.

Just spent Monday-Friday and have to saying it’s been an amazing week. All staff that we come across were so welcoming and really helpful. I felt the areas were all clean and tidy. We had the fish and chips and a meal and they were both good. The pool was well staffed and clean, very busy on the times we went but that’s expected. We down the Father Christmas experience and that’s a must of your going. The way they have set the room up and the journey in the lift is brilliant, yet again the staff that were on working when we went were so nice, polite and made the experience even better. We stayed in the sea view apartment which could do with a bit of TLC but nothing that we couldn’t live with. Definitely worth a visit to this Butlins. Massive and plenty to do.

A great place for kids and young at heart grand parents and all those in-between. Plenty of choice of things to do and great staff. Showing it's age now and some aspects lacking in the self catering kitchen units. Bring your own basics. Great time. Great deals to be had. We've heard the hotels are good 👍

Went for an adult 90s themed weekend. Stayed in a hotel. Immaculately clean. Food was self service and was fine. Queues for tea and coffee and not a huge selection for vegan/vegetarian. But it is catered for and is quite tasty. All staff friendly and helpful. Excellent entertainment. Well worth the money. A big advantage for us was that it is literally opposite the seafront.

BRILLIANT PLACE - DANGEROUS FOOD!!! Loved the place brilliant pool etc for my 4 year old birthday weekend. Unfortunately, Day 3..food poisoning from the coast buffet. Love the place will go back but without the food package as 4 days later I am still unrecovered and missed 3 days of work/wages. Such a shame but I will go back as I said, without the premium food upgrade.

Honestly cannot complain about anything regarding our Butlins trips this year! Stayed in silver accommodation both times, 2 different styles of room each time, they were both perfect for us. The dining plan was amazing value, all the food was delicious, and such great variety of choice. The red coats were friendly and approachable, always ready to help with anything!

Nice place for kids. We went at the end of June and their were no queues for the rides. Be aware of your child is below 1.2m there are some rides they can't go on which is a shame. That includes the large soft play which was ridiculous I think. Also the water park they have is pretty cool.

Stayed in the wave hotel in the 8 bed room very good-sized clean and fresh no issues with the room, but beware the cleaner will clean the room even if you don't put the sign out . Went with the premium food package, not great and not bad, all the signs on the food are clear but they do not state if vegetarian on each food you have to down load the app or go online to view would prefer if they where on the sign saves getting your phone out. Only eating vegetarian, not sure what people thought about the meat, but there was a lot of verity. Things to do in the park are great. I found a mosque that was 12 minutes away with was excellent. Splash pool was excellent beach was pebble not sand but very nice. Overall, excellent holiday and a beautiful location 👌

Had a bad experience with the room when first getting there but after cleaning crew re did our room it was a bit better, would recommend staying at the hotels. Most fair ground rides are free, if u get an activity pass its better. Designated smoking areas, loads of different places to eat, great entertainment.

Booked a weekend stay at the room only at oyster bay and let me tell you NEVER AGAIN! Mattresses were rotten! Room stunk n wasn’t clean. Complained and they upgraded to a self catering room which we was grateful for. However this room was even worse to say the least, apparently it had been cleaned. The beds had hairs on them, crumbs on the sofas and next to the wardrobe I noticed black hair lines on the wall so I shuffled the wardrobe and to my shock there was black mould! Looks like they tried to cover it with the wardrobe!! My mum is disabled and has asthma so this was a big no no. Got onto the phone to the services and was told they was gonna send a cleaner there to fix the issues. By this point I was fuming and said absolutely no chance regardless of a clean will you be able to fix the mould. Apparently they had no other places for us to stay so after 2 long hours of being passed around we ended up at the wave hotel but this lovely receptionist who found us a room there. This hotel is amazing and the rooms are CLEAN. If I was going again I’d only book a hotel there but the prices are extortionate so I probably wouldn’t go again.

Stayed in the Seaview hotel, apart from 1 lift not working its amazing. Had a towel animal waiting for us each day which is such a cute touch, my little one loved it. Drinks are no more expensive than most places, i would say the food is a bit dear for what it is, but it was expected. Entertainment was really good, was nice to see so may families have so much fun. Staff are always happy to help and even made a point of coming to say hi

Went for a Soul weekender which are always great fun. The Silver room accommodation wasn't up to standard because the door handle came off in the bathroom. However, the room was warm, clean and comfortable. No towels available which panicked me slightly, but thankfully there were towels available on hire. Great buffet breakfast with full English and continental. Reasonable drink prices.

Adult only weekends are awesome, great entertainment and a variety of shows. Lots of activities available on site during the day like bars, bowling, swimming, arcades etc. Various food outlets and a convenience store on site. Staff on site friendly and helpful. Rooms in the chalets however are very basic and outdated and not very clean. Food in The Deck pretty decent. Located right on the beach and a short walking distance from town. Overall worth the prices and will be returning.

Mid week break with a 2 & 3 year old. Premium dining package.. food was really good. No complaints there. Entertainment and staff really good and organized. Our accommodation was in the oldest block on site and wasn't in any way as good as previously stayed in Silver level accommodation. But issues that arose were dealt with. Will return again this year.

We have been here twice for a Monday to Friday break with a visually impaired couple and their children. Before we went for the first time I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but we had a great time. All the staff were fantastic - so friendly and helpful. All the other guests were lovely. It’s nearly all family groups during the week, so there is a really nice feel to the place. The entertainment was good, although the sound level during the panto was a bit too loud, especially for kids. There was a wide variety of food in the restaurants, and the people who work there were great, very helpful, especially Tom! Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a family holiday.

Lovely time with kids here. Perfect for a long weekend away with several activities indoors and outdoors. Accommodation is basic but spent very little time inside. Pebble beach close by and plenty of food options.

Lovely holiday with my daughter and my sister and her clan. Couple of service issues, but nothing to write home about. The only thing really was the papa John's. They had a QR code at the entrance, this was for the menu and as my niece can't have dairy, it was nice to be able to pick something for her from thos menu. However, the waiter who came to take the order knew nothing about this magical menu, and my niece was left with a choice of chips and salad. As she is 2, it was chips. And my sister took her back to the room before we offered ice cream to the rest of the kids. Other than this, it was a good holiday. Lots for the kids to do, they were shattered every night. But if you have any food allergies, avoid papa John's. The rest seemed fine
