It's not Brighton but it's got its own little charm to it... watched the meteor shower last night down there and actually felt safer than Brighton! Totally satisfied so far...

A great place to relax, spend time with family or friends. You can go for a walk along the long promenade, or at low tide along the sandy beach. Perfect place for a picnic overlooking the sea. Close to the city center as well as restaurants. Small town with no traffic jams and you can easily find parking spaces.

I have been coming here for decades on and off. As a teenager back in the 90’s all the way up till today. The various shops and eateries along the prom have changed over the years but there is always something comforting sitting on the pebbled beach here. The top half of the beach is all pebbles but as the tide goes out you can build a sandcastle and paddle in the sea. Something for everyone here with plenty of parking available too.

Lovely spacious beach. Family friendly, mini funfair, free toilets, showers and playground. Shallow part of the sea is quite long and sandy so it is children friendly.

Lovely walk along the seafront path with places to grab a coffee or icecream. I love that the sea is so close to the path so the kids can enjoy a swim and I can still watch over them, it means it's not a far walk from the sea back to my daughters wheelchair on the side. It's great that it has lifeguards too.

A lovely beach! Stones primarily. Sand when the tide is out. Parking is available from max 2 minutes away. Town is one minute away. Usually quiet. Bit windy but to be expected

Fantastic beach for a stroll with the family and to get some sea air. Lots of little shops, donut stand and coffee bistros on the promenade. Being a city chick, the beach is always a welcome and refreshing break

We went by train from London, taking nearly two hours. We were actually disappointed. The beach stretches for miles but we were not allowed in the sea as raw sewage was being pumped out. Walked along the pier very shabby and run down. No so many eateries. Needs a lot of investment.

Very surprised that to find parking was very easy. Feels much nicer than Brighton. 4* because I had to run around for 20 minutes looking for coffee, found a coffee shop that meant to close at 4:30pm it was closed at 4:15. Other than that it's very lovely

The water temperature was fine. The water level is very variable due to the co-tides. It loses its depth in the afternoon. Perfect for kids but not much fun for adults who want to swim.

Last time I was here I was 13, now I am nearly 70....picture of how the beach front used to be....

The beach is pebbles so not comfortable walking on. It's a very long stretch though but quiet, not like other beaches in the UK. There's a few rides, trampoline and a bouncy fun zone kids can go on which is good and fish, donuts and slushies you can buy as well.

Beautiful and peaceful place for a long walk. Love the walks and small shops around the beach path. Nice facilities and shower on the beach available.

Always a pleasant walk along the seafront which is always spotlessly clean.

Beautiful relaxing place. Much better than Brighton. Areas where you can relax and have an ice cream or something to drink along the seaside. Ocean is a delight in august to swim in. I love it. Too bad it doesn’t have much sand

Love this beach, generally known for the older generation but that’s what makes it more relaxed. Very short walk to the town, never struggled to find parking along the beach front and nice long walks and children’s park. Nearly forgot to mention my daughter’s favourite bit the water jets which come out the ground for children to play in.

Great place to chill out fantastic fish and chips with badass icecream plus friendly people. Not as crowded as Brighton with great entertainment

A good small town. Found all brands around in the local market - gave me a vibe of mini / small worthing. Found good souvenirs shop too.

We love going here. Always easy to park, good selection of shops and the most amazing ice cream/cake shop just by the seafront on the way into town.
