Slemani’s landmark Hawary Shar park, one of the biggest in the Middle East, covers an area of 1,000 square kilometers. Over 3,000 trees have been planted along the surrounding valley. The park has many attractions including Fountain Lake, a cycling track, a skateboarding park, and a 5,000-seat, open-air auditorium built in the style of the colosseum in Rome. The amphitheater aims to host international and local arts festivals, while showcasing Kurdish culture. The park is located at Hawar shar area around 15-20 min. drive from city . It is the largest park in Sulaymaniah consist of 4400 acres land. There are many attractions for recreational activities including visiting of artificial fountain lake , bicycling arena , skateboarding club and particularly Romanian amphitheater. There are other many activities listed on the park map board but in fact doesn’t exist e.g Golfing . A recommended place for family visit , a club car can be hired to avoid exhausting with long walk.

It's a beautiful place to go to, it's clean as well. pretty quiet in the mornings which is the best time to go in my opinion since it gets crowded in the afternoon till nighttime :/ ,usually not to suitable for families to visit at those times but other than that i think it's a great place to go for a walk and take pics :>

The place is wonderful as if it is a piece of paradise, suitable for families and children and very clean .. I recommend visiting it before sunset to enjoy the nice atmosphere

It is one of the best resorts in Iraq. As well as sarchnar is the childhood neighbourhood, I will always be happy to see the scenes.

An amazing place to spend an afternoon or a night at. The beautiful gardens are unfortunately not cared for enough. The mini lake inside the park has a very low level of water especially in summer. All in all a beautiful place and you should visit this place if you want to spend a quite and nice time inside the city.

Nice & cool place for a break when it's hot in the city. Excellent location and not far from centre of Sulaymania.

Good park for Family which contains natural view of old trees and have small river in and kids place for playing , chairs to sitting

I do not understand why there is a car road in this 'park'? The place is not looked after all. When I went to this park around 15-16 (3-4pm), the place of the pictures was not open. The doors were all locked.

I liked this place with beautiful lakes and ducks you can go there with your kids and whole the family because the park also has an Amusement park for children

It’s beautiful and nice place to visit day time to family or families but to night I don’t recommend because many guys drinking alcohol most nights guys just there

Calm place, the weather is nice there and the place is covered by tress and the prices are quite good. Highly recommended.

Sarchnar Resort and Park is the first mini national park in the city, that has a wide green area with several restaurants and a beautiful small Lakeland

One of the old parks in Suly, sarchnar has always been lovely. This is a nice place to have a small picnic with anyone honestly
