Would NOT recommend! THEY DO put chemicals in customers hair unknowingly. EVEN IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN PRODUCTS. (Happened to me) I have not had a perm or any chemicals in my hair for over two years. I went there once. Three weeks before I got a silk press somewhere else. The stylist asked me did I get a perm... My roots were straight and you could literally smell chemicals! She had to wash my hair about four times and once with a neutralizer! I also noticed a large amount of my hair was falling out when I would comb it. So whatever anyone says they did... THEY DID IT.

I’m rating this establishment a 1 because of the fact they have a product that they mixed in their shampoo/conditioner to make your hair bone straight. They believe they can not tame a black woman’s hair so they use products to break down our natural texture. Mine, as well as 2 others that came with me hair is falling out in clots! Not to mention curls are gone until I regrow my hair out!

What a beautiful place! They removed my sew in extensions for me, the braids and then washed my hair and gave me a great bob cut!!! All under 90 dollars. They are actually a shop that cares about your hair. They don’t believe in excessive heat damage to ones head. They still utilize the roller technique however only for 30 mins. Here’s a before and after!!! The lady behind chair one did my hair!

DO NOT GO HERE if you love your natural hair!! I haven’t put a relaxer in my hair since I was 14 just 10 years ago. I came to this shop because the original Doobie Shop (who had black stylists) closed. I just had TWO hair stylists on separate occasions ask me if I relax my hair & that they also believe this establishment secretly puts chemicals in their products.. my roots are now thick while my ends are bone straight. Now I have to go on ANOTHER natural hair journey when my hair should already be where it’s supposed to be! So I’m paying services & they snake us bc our hair “isn’t manageable” SHUT IT DOWN

Paola and her team are a very special group of ladies. They love what they do and it shows. If you are looking for an atmosphere that is professional, friendly, fun, positive and highly efficient, look no further. I always leave happy and completely satisfied with my hair. I also love the singing...whenever a song comes on that the hair stylists all like, they sing together, making a joyful and beautiful sound. Give Paola a try, you’ll love it.

I can say I'm impressed I'm from up north and have tried several shops in the central area starting from Amboy and going down and have always been disappointed with the outcome so I gave up and just took the ride up north every two weeks but yesterday found my new place. The ladies took their time with everything from washing to trimming and blow out and the result was amazing …. Thank you ladies!!

Myself and my daughters have gone here for years. My curl pattern has never been damaged. They are courteous and the salon is always clean. My hair is always done well. I have never been disappointed.

First off I been going there since 2014 and I never had a problem with the salon. Ms. Paola and her staff is very dedicated to make sure their clients leave there hair salon pleased. Love how Ms. Paola and her staff remembers their clients name. Very family oriented type atmosphere in side the salon. They also asked you do you have your own hair products or do you want to you use there’s. They do give people the option. They asked you how do you want you hair and asked you several times if you like it or do you want them to change it.

Well where do I start, my wife went to try out this salon, there must have been a language barrier in the because my wife went in for a color(blonde) and a cut, she came out of there with red hair, no shape up or fade and dy down to her eyebrows, my wife looked like she had a helmet on, very disappointed in 😪😪😪 this business.

Used to have good manageable hair… After this place not anymore. My hair texture is now uneven and so is my hair length do to it continuously falling out. Whatever they did to my hair messed it up completely.

I will never come here again unfortunately, after YEARS of being perm-free with healthy hair, that was taken from me when I got a 'deep conditioner ' that obviously had perm in it without my knowledge. I KNOW what permed hair looks and feels like-- my hair smelled like sulfur(eggy) afterwards whenever it would get wet and it would not stop shredding profusely! Took my hair years to get back healthy because I refused to cut it and start back over as I had done BEFORE they put those chemicals in my hair. My hair was on the thicker end and all I wanted was a Doobie, if it was too thick for them to manage, I would have appreciated their honesty in telling me they couldn't straighten it to my liking, instead of sneaking perm in it! This seems consistent with other women with thicker, coarser hair. I have heard many others with thicker hair complain of this exact problem after patronizing Paola's. This is not ok. I did not file a law suit but I'm not sure if they'll be as lucky in the future. It's unfortunate because they were friendly and I really wanted to love this establishment. :-/
