very disappointed in the new limited menu! My husband and I used to enjoy riding along the parkway to get a hamburger or a full meal, now you have about 6 to 8 choices and it's Italian style with no breads or salads with their lasagna and or spaghetti for $15.00. what an absolute disappointment!!!! When you ride across the parkway it is expected to find a good spot for a sandwich or a quick bite to eat not Park Vista anymore!!! They should have never changed their menu and definitely should not have changed to what they have now. We WERE regulars but we will never go back again after Saturday 4-22-23 experience. They have permanently lost my family's business.

Restaurant closed, motel abandoned. After a long day driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we arrived at the Inn around 6:30 in the evening to find it deserted, and not at all as described on the website. - The "fabulous restaurant and bar" was closed, with a notice on the door that it would not be open until next year. We had planned to eat supper there, based on the opening hours listed on the website. Presumably the "room service" mentioned in the description would also not have been available. - The office was closed, with a note on the door that it was unattended and a phone number to call. However, we did not have cell service and had to drive 14 miles to the Holiday Inn Express in West Jefferson before we got a signal using WiFi -- we still had no cell service. This is a far cry from the promise to provide us with the "attention and luxury" we deserve from "attentive staff." - The property looked abandoned and in major disrepair. There were no other vehicles in the parking lot. A door to one of the rooms was standing open. When we looked inside, it appeared to be gutted and full of debris including dried tree limbs, giving the impression it hadn't been touched in a very long time. Rather than "impeccable accommodations," the property was a run-down looking wreck that was eerily empty. - I saw no evidence of the "numerous amenities and services" mentioned on the website. It did not even have secure WiFi or a gathering spot like a lobby or patio, much less what I would consider "luxury" or "amenities." After we drove to West Jefferson, I finally was able to check messages to find an email sent only that afternoon (we were of course all day without cell service so couldn't have seen this) with instructions on how to get our room key from a lockbox. By that point, we decided to stay at a hotel in town and get some supper there, rather than return and take a chance that the room we paid for would somehow make up for all the other broken promises. In any case, the abandoned inn was creepy, and I did not feel safe staying there alone with no staff on the property. Their website says, "We guarantee you'll have a pleasant experience here." They won't stand behind that guarantee. It has been two weeks and I have received no reply to my request for a refund. They, and their motel and restaurant, are ghosts.

The Park Vista Restaurant has changed its menu to rustic Italian. Our service was very good. The meatball appetizer was also good. The Italian Wedding Soup had a good flavor but the meatballs did not appear to be made by the cooks, probably bought in frozen. The veal parmigiana was poor. The veal was not cutlets. If you split the breading, you would be hard pressed to find any meat. I would have expected something like this on an inexpensive veal parmigiana hoagie. Definitely not on a $23 entree. I may go back but Iā€™m not in a hurry.

It's always been a pleasure dining at this restaurant, so the recent menu changes sparked my curiosity. Unfortunately, this visit was far from the experiences I've previously enjoyed. The new menu, unfortunately, failed to impress. Many of the dishes we tried were bland, lacking the characteristic flavor we'd come to expect. Also, the unavailability of several items, including drinks, was surprising and disappointing. The bang shrimp, however, remained a delight. It was the only dish that lived up to our expectations. Service, too, has taken a downturn. The staff didn't check on us frequently, leaving us feeling neglected, making the experience less enjoyable. In short, the revamped menu and subpar service were a letdown. I hope they take steps to address these issues, to recapture the charm that made this restaurant a favorite.

Strange experience. Allowed to check in early, however we were unable to do that. Had my son check us in and get our key when he checked in. Did not require any ID. We would not have been able to get our key after the wedding as we did not have that check in time. No one mans a desk. Someone has to come at a certain time. Unable to call. Either no one answers or the phone is always on busy. The room was clean. The outside of the motel type building was not, but did have decorations. It is nearest location if someone is having a wedding at wanderlust acres and only needs a place to sleep. The $150 for a queen bed (with small fridge), for that room was, in my opinion, overpriced. Don't know if the restaurant was even open. Don't think so. Probably won't need to stay there again.

Pretty much the only place to eat and stay there for miles on the blue ridge parkway. A retro and quant establishment that served awesome hamburgers, coleslaw and beer battered fries. Don't go there expecting atmosphere but good food and friendly people including the staff. The hotel is old fashion but just renovated. The room was large with no TV. That's fine we can always take a break from the television. There was a coffee maker in room. This was good as the restaurant was not open for breakfast. And if you are traveling south the turn into there can be missed. Remember Mile marker 268 because phone service and GPS can be iffy.

We stayed at the Inn over Labor Day weekend. The room was wonderful! It was also very quite even though there were other guests there. Check in and check out were not your typical process but they communicated well with us. We will definitely stay there again!

What a wonderful find! Park Vista not only has terrific food.... the wait staff is awesome. McKenzie was our waitress and she couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We met the owners, Amanda & Chris and talked to them awhile. What a delightful and talented couple. Both my husband and me had the brisket and... it's probably the best we've ever had!!! We will be coming back again and again - and telling all of our friends. Looking forward to experiencing their Sunday brunch soon, too!
