West Ashville's hidden gem! I saw this on line from a fellow traveler and based on what the said along with the photos, I knew I had to go! After all we travel with our toy poodle, Jolie Fleur. We made there today and we we knew this was going to be a treat! Jolie Fleur was treated like a family member and that was it for me! It was a beautiful day so we sat outside our server brought water for Jolie Fleur first! The food was excellent beyond our expectations. The fries were actually real hand cut fries that you don't see anymore and were delightful. I had the shrimp & grits - more real shrimp I have ever seen before with roasted red pepper! Our server was so sweet but really everyone there was so accommodating, you can tell they enjoyed working there! What I have learned, parking! When you, and you should put this on your list! Parking is difficult due to the limited space and very narrow streets. Its like a little village so you may have to walk a bit but! It is so worth it and after you have a meal there, a walk would be in order for sure. You definitely get ample serving sizes of food. So treat yourself with your pet at Sunny Point Cafe!

Large menu with something for everyone. The grits and carrot pancakes were great. Biscuits just ok and breakfast sandwich not special. Large portions as should be with high pricepoint. will return when weather permits us to enjoy the patio

I love this place. They have a garden out back and indoor, outdoor, and sheltered porch seating. The vibe of the peace is so chill, and the staff is very helpful. The food was great, and they change up their menu often. We got the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffle sandwich, and the lemon pepper crusted trout. The risotto in the trout was so amazing and perfect. The food came out in a timely manner, and everything was perfect.

The best breakfast I’ve ever had. We came here on our last day in Asheville and I couldn’t be happier. Not only was the food delicious- but the restaurant uses local ingredients, grows a lot of their own stuff, and supports a different nonprofit every month. It’s a cool spot, no problem if you need to wait for a table, they have a beautiful garden to explore or a patio to chill and have a coffee.

Amazing food, great patio and garden area- best as a warm weather spot though as right now all ordering and waiting is outdoors. That said, even though it was 45° and windy. I'd wait for this food again in a heart beat! This is now one of our new favorite spots in Asheville. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped here at 2:30pm on Thursday, amazed at how crowded! We loved our food and service from Shea, the carrot cake pancakes were splendid. Also enjoyed the Benedict, lots of great flavors. Cool restaurant with plenty of character.

This place was awesome! The food was excellent, the prices are good, and the service was phenomenal! My wife and I enjoyed it so much we went for two days back-to-back. We met some really cool patrons and locals. We will surely be back the next time we visit our second favorite city. The carrot cake waffles are to die for!! The fried chicken waffle sandwich was extremely good too. I highly recommend this place. The parking isn't great, however, the walk/wait is well worth it!

Buckle up kids because this is going to be a long one and you SHOULD make it all the way to the end. This little gem didn't even pop up in the top 10 when I googled breakfast in the Ashville area and I consider that to be one of the greatest travesties of all time. It is HARD to get excited about a two egg breakfast but let me just set the scene. My wife and I arrived, she miraculously chose to sit outside (she is always cold) and the magic started to happen. The environment was amazing. While we waited for our food, I saw staff members everywhere. A lady was picking fresh flowers which was down right picturesque. I saw them picking fresh fruit from their garden planted 6 ft from me. Another staff member was just picking up small pieces of trash, making it clear of any and all debris. It really showed how much the staff cares about the place. The plates arrived and I was dumb struck. The presentation was ridiculously perfect. I was instantly excited. The fruit, the sausage, the eggs the BISCUIT! The fruit was so frigin' fresh, the sausage HAD to be fresh made, the biscuit was one of the best I have ever had. The house hot sauce was absolutely amazing and the staff.... had me wanting to move to Ashville. The blackberry jam had me giggling it was so good. My wife LOVED her chai but was obsessed with the stuffed French toast and it was CRAZY good! I have a picture she didn't want to me share because she was taking such a large bite it was embarrassing. The food was great, the experience was the real gem here. I can't recommend this place enough, don't miss it if you are in the area. WAIT in line, it's worth it. Best part.... cheapest meal I had in the area all week. It broke my brain.

We enjoyed our brunch at Sunny Point Cafe very much. The biscuits and gravy were excellent, and the Peach Pound Cake with a Raspberry jam was delightful. We love that they have their own garden...they even have raised beds between the tables which soak up the sun between the umbrellas AND provide a little privacy. Very nice place. Dog friendly!

Had to seek this place out as per recommendation. Great breakfast. Nice little place. Seems like a lot of locals dining. Good sign. The omelet was super and their biscuits are way worth trying. Next time in Ashville we will return.

We’ve tried to eat here a number of times, and always picked something else due to hours long projected wait time. We went today as we were early enough (9:30am) where it was only 45min wait for table of 2. Service was warm, but they are so busy food took a bit long and service wasn’t too attentive (no fault of our server who was kind and great). We got carrot cake pancakes and burrito and fried green tomatoes. All were pretty underwhelming, and found a hair in our burrito. Nothing was bad per say, but I don’t know if it’s worth the wait, and thought it might be helpful to share my experience.

Amazing cocktails. Got their gin cocktail and it was strong (not that we minded). Ordered the pecan crusted fried green tomato sandwich and shrimp and grits. All were delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Cute place. Loved that it uses local vendors for their food.

The pecan-crusted fried green tomato sandwich was excellent (I switched out the bacon with veggie sausage patties). I chose grits for my side and they are some of the best I’ve had, creamy and a bit of spice. Service was a tad slow but very friendly and I was offered a coffee to go. Would definitely go again.

Staff was pretty rude, we’ve passed through 4 states all of which have different procedures as far as covid-19. The younger employee acted like we were idiots for asking about their procedures. For the area I don’t know why I expected kind locals.

Very laid back atmosphere with nice outdoor waiting area and dog friendly patio - and dog friendly workers! We ordered the biscuits and fried green tomatoes to start, then the southern omelette and shrimp & grits for entrees. Both entrees come with bacon, but I can’t eat pork, so I got their veggie “sausage” substitute. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Even in winter time the patio was super toasty with its enclosure and heaters. The food was amazing and arrived quickly. The servers were all really helpful and friendly. You would never know it was mid-February when we went...the fruit tasted like it was summer time!

Got here right when they opened on a weekday and there wasn't a wait, but it filled up shortly afterwards. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, our drinks and food came out quickly. THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD. We got the biscuit plate to start and I had to stop myself from eating them all. Then my shrimp and grits were delightful. My husband got the breakfast burrito and I didn't get a picture of it because he immediately ate it.

This place was AMAZING! Every dish that was brought out was a piece of art! Went with a larger group and the waitress was very accommodating. The build your own breakfast sandwich was delicious with the flaky biscuit. My daughter and I both got an egg and cheese one, which was flaky and buttery deliciousness. The side of fruit was all fresh and cold. Impressive! I also tried their carrot cake pancakes and wish I had gotten more than one, they were so good. Highly recommend. When in Asheville- go here! Beautiful outside seating area.

Very nice place to have breakfast. Lots of menu items to select but we decided to listen to our waiter and ordered most popular meals here. We ended up being happy with our foods. They're all very tasty. They even have a garden next to the restaurant where customers can wait and see around while waiting for the next available table. The restaurant is super packed during weekends and the wait time could go up to 2 hours. So I think this is a really cool idea to serve their customers.

Sunny Point Cafe offers a charming experience in a small cafe setting. Parking is limited to street spaces, with just 4 spots in their lot. Overhead heaters provide warmth, and the service is excellent. We enjoyed the Avocado scramble and Egg Sandwich, both of which were delightful. The scramble was particularly tasty. The Fall Fizz mocktail was amazing; I liked it so much that I ordered another. Despite the limited parking, this family-owned gem was bustling. A great spot for breakfast, and I'll definitely return on my next visit to Asheville.

Incredible food and overall menu. I wasn’t in the mood to drink, but their drinks looked amazing too. Our waitress was incredibly kind and made the whole experience even more fun. Wish I could remember her name! Loved my grits and breakfast omelette. Parking took a second to find, but we figured it out.

This is the best place to stop in Asheville, especially if you are travelling through. The food is outstanding, the ambiance is great and the service is fantastic. Don't let the limited paring, wait time, or location deter you - this restaurant is worth it. And if you like a Bloody Mary - Sunny Point even makes their own mix from real tomatoes. My wife liked it almost as much as her lunch!

We were in Asheville for the weekend and stopped here for brunch simply because we walked by. It did not disappoint. We gobbled down the breakfast burrito, coffee cake, huevos rancheros, the breakfast sandwich, and cocktails. The place is cozy, but we didn't have a long wait. When we return to Asheville, we'll eat here again, this time on purpose.7

A visual treat as well...fresh colors, amazing flavors!! Our server Micheal Conway was so fun & made our visit extra special! I highly recommend a trip to The Sunny Point Cafe'. The good: the food. Chicken and waffle sandwich was as delicious as it sounds and the potatoes that came with it were perfectly cooked. Pricing was typical (slightly high) but worth it The bad: you will have to wait. We waited 50 minutes on a Thursday at 10am. The environment is inviting but the chairs you are sitting in are metal outdoor chairs, not comfortable at all. If you sit outside you’re at picnic tables. The ugly: there is nowhere to park. They have 6 parking places after that you’re on your own to find street parking or park and pray you don’t get towed.

Just wow!! Stopped by here for some early breakfast and I couldn’t have been more pleased!! Our server was great, she was very attentive and on top of everything. The food was sooooo delicious!!!! The sausage and biscuits might have been some of the best I’ve ever had. And the best part, they have a huge garden right next to their restaurant that they grow and use produce from. It’s open to walk around in and is very peaceful/relaxing. If I lived here, this would be my go to for breakfast every single morning. Definitely recommend!!!

We enjoyed brunch here recently. A nice variety of brunch options… each of our family were very happy with their food and creative drinks. It seems to be very popular place on weekends.. we waited an hour plus but it was worth it. They had some pleasant outdoor waiting areas including a fabulous garden of flowers, herbs, etc. which eased the wait anxiety. Overall, a very delicious brunch. I wish the prices could have been a little less, but were probably the same as most popular Asheville restaurants.

Mondays and Tuesdays are the least busiest day! Grab a cocktail, IPA or Coffee while you wait to be seated! Come before 10 am for less of a wait. There is no public wifi. The food is super good, detail oriented, good portions, great ranch! The mighty chicken sandwich and side salad is a great way to eat good but not too smothered and heavy! Get the Candied Pecan Latte

Great food. Drinks were just meh. The waiting are is cool, but honestly, it’s not cool enough to wait two hours to eat here. Staff has great energy and I’d love to try some other dishes. Sunday morning 30 minutes after opening was not a good time to try them out. I’ll definitely try them again on another day. The stuffed French toast was great! I’d serve the syrup warm though. Shrimp and grits were great and the plate was cleeeeean on the way back.biscuits were good, just different, had what tasted like a mix between sea salt and coarse ground sugar. Gravy had a great taste with some different ingredients than normal. Butter was yummy!

Amazing!!! We ate here because a friend told us no trip to Asheville would be complete without a breakfast at Sunny Point and we can see what she meant. The atmosphere is bright and fun and cheerful. The food is made with locally-sourced ingredients and was quirky, off-beat takes on traditional breakfast meals, making them out-of-this-world-memorable. Our only issue? There are only four (?!?) parking spaces for the restaurant and they are handicapped spaces; otherwise, you have to fight for a space on the windy, crazy streets.

Asheville is teeming with great, hip brunch spots. This was one of them. Beautifully plated food, cruelty free coffee, homey atmosphere. You'll get greeted with a big bright smile, offered to take a mug and help yourself to the Venezuelan coffee. Twas once a cold November that I trekked into the Sunny Point Cafe, expecting some amazing breakfast, and how it delivered. The nacho dish with a multi-layer bean dip with some local jam I'm sure, was a great thought out appetizer. Next, I got the Croque Madame, something that's rather difficult to find apparently in most breakfast spots, and I also got a chicken biscuit all served with a side of home fries. There was never a lack of seasoning, nor avocado in any dish. I felt the love, and I felt the selflessness that comes with all of these hip places. No wonder why this place is so popular, finding a parking spot was definitely a struggle. Which was probably my only complaint, they are too popular that it became a problem! I almost gave up dining here, but glad I persevered!

Well worth the wait! We came with a group of 6 on Sunday morning and had about an hour wait. We spent the time grabbing coffee at their place next door. Once seated, our service was perfect, the waiter was very attentive. And the food was fantastic. We had fried green tomatoes, biscuits, kids French toast, chicken biscuit sandwich, and a chicken waffle sandwich. The flavors were amazing and we also purchased a jar of their homemade jam to go.

This place is incredible; I had the BYO biscuit and the breakfast sandwich with spuds on the side. The potatoes were so flavorful, my husband said it was one of the best biscuit sandwiches he’s ever had and my breakfast sandwich was amazing (from the smoky sweet bacon to the delicious chipotle sauce). We’ll definitely be back!

I have visited 2x for breakfast. The first time, I found the food to be good, but the staff to have a you are lucky to be here vibe, especially from the hostess stand. I decided to give it a second chance. I waited 1 hr and 45 min yesterday. When seated we were so close to everyone around us that the kids next to us spilled drinks on us twice. We both ordered breakfast entrees one with sunny side up eggs and one with medium. When the order came, both were the same. (Server never wrote anything down) and said oh I will have those fixed. 20 min later, they came out more runny than the first time. The server said he didn’t like them that way either, but the kitchen didn’t cook medium eggs here. He said next time over them over hard. He took them away and brought me the bill for the full amount. I paid $18 for 2 biscuits and gravy. I will not be back.

We came here for breakfast because it had so many good reviews and the food photo did look really good. In short, I didn't leave thinking the food wasn't good but I thought maybe it wasn't worth spending that much and it's definitely not worth waiting 2 hours for. We ordered: - 2 memosas (one with orange and one with tangerine): $12 each. They're good but nothing special. - 2 Crab Cake Benny (one we opt for tofu chorizo instead of bacon): I guess it's good (but I'd still say not amazing) - Chicken waffle sandwich: my husband loved it but I thought it was okay. - Shrimps and grits: pretty good. This probably my favorite of all of them. The grits didn't feel overly heavy. In all of them, the candied bacon was the star. The shrimps and grits was so much better because of the candied bacon. I love their candied bacon. Delicious. Loved the outdoor seating and their garden! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I really liked him until I thought he was trying to upsell a little too much. It stopped feeling like he was recommending good stuff but it started feeling like he just wanted to spend more money (minus 1 star) (Minus 2 stars) They charge a total of $44 for Crab Cake Benny but on the menu, it's only $20 each - we ordered 2 so it should be $40 (not $44). We didn't catch this before paying but why do they charge more than what says on the menu? If there was anything that they needed to charge extra for, we weren't informed and that's not acceptable.

Every publication I read while trip planning recommended Sunny Point for breakfast!! We arrived early and got one of the last tables. Clearly everyone knows how great this place is. If you want extremely delicious, healthy and fresh food in Asheville, go to this place! It was the best meal my family had while visiting and if I am ever in the area, I would certainly go back. The burger was amazing as the flavors were so delicious, the crisp peppery arugula paired so nicely with the sweet, juicy tomato and sharp cheddar cheese. The fries were so good and the chicken and waffle sandwich looked tasty. Sunny Point Cafe also has great outdoor seating and has a lovely garden where they grow their own vegetables and herbs. This place was truly amazing, the business model is innovative and eco-friendly. Make sure to stop here when visiting Asheville.

Unfortunately, I’ve had one of the worst food experiences in a long time with Sunny Point Cafe. My wife and I wanted to enjoy and start our Sunday with a “trusted” brunch restaurant. So, I went to Google search and this place with really good reviews came up. We went there, I ordered chicken waffle, and my wife ordered egg cheese tomato sandwich. We literally waited about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Finally food has arrived and it was not only cold, but also far away from having any taste in it. One of worst breakfast food I’ve ever tasted! Waffle was cold and not freshly made at all, it also tasted old. Chicken had barely any meat in it but full of skin. It was definitely not freshly made either. My wife’s sandwich was also cold, inside and out. It was obvious that it was made long before it got to us. On top of that, this place is really expensive! We paid more than $50 for one iced coffee, one regular coffee, 1 chicken waffle, 1 egg cheese sandwich, and 2 orange juice. My wife and I came to Asheville NC for our anniversary, but this place really affected our Sunday in a bad way. I do not recommend this place at all. You can easily save your money, valuable time and consider your health before you consider going to this place. Go somewhere else who can serve you better!

The food at Sunny Point is very good and the service is quite good as well. However, the building used by Sunny Point is barely workable as a restaurant. It is small and the overflow dining room is actually temporary with canvas walls. It is a quirky throwback to the hippie age in the late 1960s. It is an interesting dining experience if you don't care about aesthetics.

First, David gave us the best service in years. Ask for him. Second, the food is as good as it's ever been. Tried the stuffed French toast for the first time - MONEY. Perfect blend of salty and sweet. Texture of the buttered bread makes it a perfect bite. Mushroom omelette is light and fluffy, but the brie gives it an elegance one must experience to understand. Start with the pork belly nachos if you want something different. You haven't had an exceptional breakfast experience until you've eaten at Sunny Point.

I should take more pictures, to let there be a better understanding of how good this food is. next time. the service staff is so friendly and accommodating, even when they're busy (which is always). the food.... man, it doesn't matter what time of the day you go, or which section of the menu you order off of. consistent, consistent, consistent. so well put together, and just the right amounts of everything. we drive up from Greenville, SC for this place, and are never disappointed. 12/10, keep doing what you guys are doing ?? PS. parking can be a huge pain, but trust me, it's worth it

What a diamond in the rough. My parents were dazzled and my husband loved their ambiance. I loved their decor! Great food. Went on Sunday morning and it took over an hour to get food. Otherwise, great food, great folks and garden next door supplies many of the veggies! So yummy! ?

I want to move to Asheville so that I can work here. The poblano mac and cheese was amazing and the garden was so wonderful! I left feeling inspired and nourished. Seriously, please give me a job lmao!

Phenomenal breakfast! We had to order takeout due to COVID-19, but the food was amazing. We ordered the huevos rancheros and it was DIVINE. I’m also gluten free and it was all so delicious!! Awesome portions too! You get a lot of food!

Went with friends, didn't realize how long the drive was and ordered thinking it was close, should have checked and that is on me, but when I got there they handed me food over two hours old and walked off before I could ask for a refund, obviously it was old cold and soggy, spent 15 bucks for a terrible meal and wasn't even offered utensils to eat with

Friendly staff and quaint decor, but a disorganized food ordering process and final fare of only moderate quality for the price.

Our favorite Asheville restaurant. Everything we've ever had has been first rate. My personal favorite is the pimento stuffed omelette with jalapeno cheddar grits, Angel biscuit with jam and extra maple pepper bacon on the side. OHHHHHH MY!

Order the Huevos Rancheros or the Cajun Hash. You won't regret it!

The absolute BEST breakfast my family has ever had. Fried green tomatoes are amazing, Bloody Mary was delicious and fun, shrimp and grits was delicious, and the huevos rancheros with black bean cakes was out of this world!! Our waitress was great and even wrote a list of places to go to in town during our visit. Everyone in the kitchen seemed to work really well together and everyone seemed to enjoy being there. Great atmosphere! There is even a little garden to walk through while you wait, which is great for families with kids like us.
