Quick Summary Solid brunch spot with pretty good chicken. Make a reservation, especially on the weekends. Only complaint was how long it took to get our food and service times Food- 4.5 stars Shrimp and grits- ordered a poached egg and fried chicken thighs due to the waiters recommendation. They were all very good and a great hearty meal. Service- 3.5 stars The servers were kind and approachable but service was quite slow. It took about 40 minutes to get our order and the whole brunch took almost 2 hours due to the slow service Ambiance- 5 stars It’s a bustling restaurant with a modern open kitchen concept. Pretty good vibes throughout Bottom Line It’s a solid brunch spot with pretty good fried chicken. But probably wouldn’t go out of my way for it

Wonderful atmosphere! Our lovely server recommended several other places we will be trying. Fried Green Tomatoes are a must, absolutely delicious served over grits. Shrimp and grits and fried chicken TO DIE FOR! Perfectly sweet thanks to the honey batter. A banana pudding / pecan pie duo for dessert, and we bought a pair of the specialty mugs our drinks were served in. Loved it!!

Small restaurant chain focused on southern menu. Many fried chicken items, some hot & spicy. We visited the one on College Street in Asheville. My chicken & waffles was fair - chicken was over fried. My wife really enjoyed her Cobb Salad. Their biscuits with Blueberry jam were very tasty. Our server was very quick and pleasant. (Note : do not let them sit you at the tables in back by the restrooms - those tables shouldn't be there)

Tupelo Margaret is great . The source of the famous fried green tomatoes are so good. Ordered the braised beef barbacoas tasted good, can feel the goat cheese grits make braised beef with more flavour. Meatloaf is very tasty! Servers are great and sweet. It’s great dinner.

My first visit and I enjoyed myself. I like the atmosphere... Of a bar and restaurant together... Cozy and inviting. Everyone enjoyed their food such as the Lemon Garden Salad and Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich. The Fried Tomatoes... yummy. Although, my Chicken and Waffles was fair... It was good but my chicken tasted bland.

Thanks to GOOGLE REVIEWS we have decided to visit this charming place. First of all dog friendly! We travel with our dogs and we bring them with us everywhere. Food was really tasty. Everything that we ordered was excellent and tasted really good. Outside area is lovely, in shade under the trees. Very pleasant and tasty place. I recommend it. ♥️♥️♥️♥️🐶🐶

Stopped in for lunch with the family. The biscuits and blueberry jelly were incredible. I had a famous fried chicken honey dusted and the chicken tortilla soup. Both were good but nothing exceptional. My wife had the famous chicken sweet and spicy and has a similar opinion. My son had the chicken and waffles and he enjoyed his meal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. Overall a good place for lunch.

Have heard people rave about Tupelo Honey for years and finally decided to try it. I was quite impressed. We made reservations ahead of time online which was really nice. The service was good. The food was absolutely mouthwatering. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The grits were top notch, I loved the use of goat cheese. Everything was warm and comforting. I will definitely be back.

We were in town looking to purchase property and found this great brunch spot! AND AND AND it’s BRUNCH all day! Sometimes you just want chicken and waffles for dinner! This place beyond delivers. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. The vibes here is good too. Good for people watching on the patio too. Will be back!

The food was amazing and our server was a queen! She was on top of everything and had great suggestions! I've wanted to eat here for years but never wanted to do the wait to get in! It's well worth it, everything we got was amazing and was so good we were sharing and trying each other's food! Amazing portions and delicious food! We will be going back for sure!

Came here on Saturday evening, the place was full but we got a table pretty quickly. Our server was slightly slow because she was catering to multiple people. Parking near the restaurant is tough, so park in one of the public garage. Ordered sriracha chicken and waffle, it was hot and good one time meal. The burger was great. Fried chicken was good, not the waffles.

Lovely environment. Staff at both locations are extremely welcoming and positive. The food is amazing, some great southern dishes with a modern twist. Plate presentation is simple and beautiful. Show up early or make a reservation. This place is popular and busy, but totally worth the wait!

First impressions mean so much, and the three young ladies at the hostess stand on Sunday morning were not friendly. Fortunately, Sara was professional and good. The food gets 5 stars. The hostess stand 0. The biscuits tasted buttery without the butter, crispy parm fries. Bacon not so great. Should definitely offer a more appealing meaty type bacon. I left all three pieces. Grit bowl was good too. Would’ve loved French toast but not on the menu. Banana pudding was sweet, tasted like banana pudding.

Delicious traditional peppery chicken and waffles! A “must try” is the Mac and cheese chicken and waffles. The flavor combo is outstanding. Sweet, savory, tart, buttery goodness. Also drink the Summitt cold brew. It’s smooth and sweet. Wait staff were attentive and speedy.

We always stop at the downtown location when we visit Asheville. This is really good southern cooking. I had the shrimp and grits and it was fantastic. My wife got the avocado toast and eggs and it was equally good. We tried the Mimosa Flight for the first time and, while I didn't expect to taste much of a difference, they were quite distinct! Also, please get the "Biscuit for a Cause" as an appetizer. It is delicious and they contribute the proceeds to Tupelo Honey Relief & Development Funds that aid Tupelo employees in need, when you purchase them.

The food was good, the atmosphere was a little low. There was no music and we got sat in a small closed area outside so it was awkward with everyone so close to each other. Service was okay, not bad. There isn’t a variety of food in the menu so I suggest you look at it before coming so you know in advance what to order.

The food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. I had the meatloaf which was juicy and very flavorful. It was not like any meatloaf I have ever eaten. My friend had the sweet and spicy chicken sandwhich and enjoyed it. The rosemary fries were delicious, and, so was the Blood Orange Marg. The roasted Brussels sprouts were good.

This was our first visit to Tupelo Honey in downtown Asheville. Our server was Jeffrey, friendly, efficient and offered great suggestions. We started with their famous Fried Green Tomatoes. Just perfect. My wife ordered the Pot Roast and I ordered the Meat Loaf with both orders getting a hearty approval from our server. The food was excellent. Two thumbs up 👍👍 Will definitely be returning for more epicurean delights. Highly recommend!

The traditional chicken and waffles plate was, hands down, one of the best meals I have ever had...anywhere! I told my colleagues that I could easily eat that meal once a day for the rest of my life and never grow tired of it. It was absolute perfection from the first bite to the last! Everything about Tupelo Honey is inviting, cozy, and fun. This is the perfect place for a date, a one-on-one business meeting, drinks with friends, or whatever else your heart concocts. Just lovely all around and great service to boot! (Seriously, though, that chicken and waffles plate...😋) I look forward to coming back for more!

I can honestly say that this is my all time favorite place to eat! The explosion of flavor in every bite was so surprising! It is truly authentic local farm fresh food that you can taste in every bite! The biscuits are homemade from scratch, the jam is the best I have ever had! And I have made jam, so has my grandma! Y'all, this is better than your grandmother's food! Truly was shocked at how amazing the food is! I was not prepared! I was merely just having breakfast at a place we happened to walk by and I fell in love. Food love! Just like that! Even the water was good! I had the "Old School Breakfast Bowl". Go get you one! The potato cracklins...mind blowing!!

Delicious, food is well done and presented nicely. Coffee is great. The chicken with the waffles is boneless so it's easier to eat, so that was a nice touch. Would recommend and go again. We were sad that the eggs Benedict are only available on weekends so heads up if you want to go for them.

Had dinner during a busy Tuesday evening right after Christmas. Food was pretty good…especially the sweet potato casserole side dish and the banana pudding dessert. The fried chicken was just ok. The service was great! Would visit again and try something else on the menu. Would definitely recommend getting reservations…even with them we had to wait about 10 minutes!

We dined at Tupelo Honey for Easter during our vacation. If you go, please try the fried pickles, fried green tomatoes and banana bread pudding !! The food was delicious. It was a bit on the spicy side for some folks in our party but overall, very tasty. I would have given 5 stars but the Arnold Palmer some of us ordered needed to be exchanged a few times because the tea flavor was a little off. All on all, great service, great food and fun atmosphere.

Tupelo is a good option if you want some well crafted southern classics. The chicken and waffles with Sriracha are perfectly hot and very tasty. I also really enjoyed the crispy brussel sprouts. I'd say the biscuits could come with a bit more butter/jam as they were fairly dry and the fried pickles weren't my favorite thing. But nothing was bad by any means. Service was quick despite the restaurant filling up while we were there.

Went there for Breakfast- Ordered Blueberry Waffle and Chicken Biscuit. I liked Waffle, husband loved chicken biscuit. Dine in experience was smooth. Make sure to reserve because we our reservation was for 9am in the morning and people already had a queue(ones with reservations). Must Go there if in Asheville!!

On Mothers Day we decided to give Tupelo Honey a try for a afternoon lunch. Like other Asheville Restaurants, the place was crowded but we had made reservations. We were seated immediately. We took some time to look over the menu closely. Evidently, the fried chicken and the Shrimp and Grits are the leading sellers. I ordered a 1/2 chicken and my wife ordered the smothered chicken. Both dishes were flavorful. We could not finish either of our meals so we packed up the leftovers. Overall, we found the service superior and the food better than most. My chicken was a bit more peppered than I expected. My wife seemed to enjoy her meal but noted the baked Mac and Cheese seemed a bit dry. Overall we had great service and good food. Recommended.

Solid choice for southern brunch! Make sure to have a reservation for busier days and go to the downtown location- if you go to the south location there is a big difference. The fried chicken here is always good, the grits are delicious, and we loved the waffles that we had! A little more pricey, but you can’t get anything like this at the same price and quality.

Food was amazing. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. I recommend the Bees Knees drink and the fried chicken. The banana pudding was spot on and not too sweet. We had a great dinner and enjoyed being outside. The weather was great.

Tastiest southern food ever!! Had great meal together with my husband. The wait is long but it is organized. We shoes up in the end of the day almost at 8pm and they booked a table for two of us in 50 mins. Stuff was nice and helpful. Really recommend to try fried pickles cause they are different from all the others I’ve had. Pickles are thin and very crispy. I wish they put more sauce to pickles. We ordered so much food that we took back half of it with us and it was very tasty the second day. Thanks a lot!

Always a good dining experience here. Food is excellent. Staff is super friendly. Never had a bad meal. Can’t go wrong with any of the fried chicken dishes and biscuits. The fall menu was out and the pork chop was delicious. Definitely had a little bit of kick to the sauce. Definitely need to make a reservation.

I can't say enough good things about our experience here! Between the beautiful patio seating, a wonderful waitress that answered every question, and killer food this place is a 12/10! We tried the blueberry lemonade mimosa and the blood orange mimosa and they were so refreshing and tasty. Perfect ratio! My husband enjoyed the Old Skool bowl and I had the classic chicken and waffles. Both meals were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We will for sure be recommending this place to everyone!
