This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The desk staff were pleasant. That was the only only acceptable part of the experience. The lobby reeked of cigarettes. We had to go outside and walk to the back of the building to re-enter the building and go up the stairs. There were multiple piles of trash in the stairwell. The hallway and room smelled even worse than the lobby, like drowning in mildew and black mold. The rusty appliances were falling off the wall in the shower. The AC unit was held up by a 2x4. There were cigarette holes in the linen. If it hadn't been literally the middle of the night, I would have left immediately. $30 would have been too much to pay.

The front desk clerk was kind and courteous. After paying and getting in room I was hit by a strong smoke and musty odor in my "non smoking 🚭 " room. Needless to say we did not stay and the front desk clerk had no problem giving us our money back.

The rooms have black mold due to water damage. And the bathroom fans don't work too well, therefore rooms are too damp. This hotel needs renovation. All fixtures need to be replaced. It's too over priced for the poor condition of the rooms. The foyer where the trash cans are, is too dirty and has bad odor. It needs to be washed and cleaned. The trash should be emptied at least everyday. Smells bad. The hallway carpet needs to be discarded due to stains. No carpet in the hallway is better and a cleaner option.

We travel for with our work . This hotel was nasty . Dirty room and bathroom had mold on walls and ceiling . Tub and toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time .No clean sheets on beds . Blood stains on sheets . They were small but noticeable . Fake fingernail was found in the sheets . Come on management and housekeeping do better . Don't waste your money here . Hallway and stairway was dirty and stinky . The highlite of the stay was Cracker Barrel was behind it within walking distance. That's it !!! Nasty place !!!

Dirty property. Holes in the wall and floor. Bathroom had hair all over the sink. The parking lot had several abandoned vehicles. There were transient/homeless people all over the parking lot and laying under the bushes. Staff at the front desk were nice but did not seem surprised by any of these problems. Any of these high star reviews are old or fake. I will not stay at a Rodeway again.

This place was awful. We checked in and within 10 minutes we checked back out. It smelled like weed and something dead combined. The rooms and stairway and halls were disgusting. Looks like hasn't been cleaned since it first opened. There was stuff streaked down the walls, cracks all over, air conditioner falling apart and blowing warm air, rust on and in the fridge. And don't even get me started on the person that checked us in. Rude and nasty. Will never stay there again, would rather sleep in my car.

Rude employees. Not a place I would stay. I gave one star because of the one employee that tried to make my room and visit manageable. The supervisor was very hostile and spoke inappropriate foul language around my children.

There are theives among the staff there!!!! What type of person would steal a 73 year old woman jacket and then deny of even seeing 1. The worst of the worst is throwing her and her handicap son out because of something that happened 8 years ago. These kind of people need to let past go and bury it and stop living inside their wallets and more with their hearts. Maybe when karma gives them a dose of rude awakening to the face or better yet pray for them cause God don't like ugly. Holes in walls window didn't latch mold everywhere baseboard in bathroom was off bed bugs everywhere. Nasty think it's time to get inspectors involved

We stayed a week at this motel. I definitely recommend staying here. The staff was so thoughtful and kind. The rooms were clean and large. They are very careful about non guests getting in the doors. Of course you can have a visitor but they have to be cleared by front desk. I will be staying there anytime I need a motel in Asheville. My thanks to the staff for making my stay so comfortable.

Room 202 is the nastiest room I've ever stayed in. Walls are busted. Needle cap and blood on walls. Mold on bathroom ceiling. Tv didn't work. Floors are dirty and sticky. Someone left a burger king crown on the light fixture. Do not recommend for women traveling alone. Seasonal workers hangout everywhere.

My experience staying here was great. Staff was very nice. Anything we needed we got it, with no attitudes very much respectful and polite. Especially from Deana she has been amazing and gone above and beyond for us. The Room we have is nice and spacious for my big fur baby , Bed was nicely made and clean. And i always checks my sheets and my mattress and i have no complaints at..

The room I had was better than the posted pictures I had seen but it was clean and the staff was helpful. The only problem was the guys staying down the hall were washing their clothes and standing in the hall way speaking Spanish at a very loud volume. But other than that it was a pretty good 7 day stay.

Good stay but very disappointed in the charging. I received a second significant charge on my credit card after staying here for two days. When called to ask what this was for, it was conveyed it was for the dog fee. I explained that I had indicated that there would be a dog when I filled out the information on Expedia. The Rodeway representative said Expedia just gives base price and to talk to Expedia. I felt this was very misleading as I specifically sought prices for for hotels that allowed dogs. I feel responsible also lies with the hotel because when I checked in, they had me sign a receipt for my stay that did not include this and then charged my credit card without my permission for the additional fee.

Absolutely the worst place I've stayed in Asheville by far. I booked it last minute because it was the cheapest motel on a Friday in Asheville at $100. I just turned on the lights and multiple roaches were scurrying along the wall. Everything in the room is broken down and nasty. After checking in I was approached in the parking lot and offered Suboxone. I'd leave and go sleep in my car but if the roaches were this bad in here I don't even want to walk past the overflowing trash can in the stairwell. I can make it a few more hours with the light on. Do yourself a favor and try for an AirBnb or pay an extra $10 to go anywhere but here.

Black mold all over the ceilings, holes in the walls, bleach smell bad, nasty beds, rusted fridge, I could go on and on. Needless to say we didn't stay. The front desk guys were great and very nice. That's about the only thing good here.

In my lifetime I have stayed in many places that were considered low quality, trashy, and not real safe. The roadway inn West Asheville beats all I've ever seen. My mom and I got into town real late that night and everything was booked except for the roadway. We've stayed there about a year ago and it wasn't this bad. It wasn't good but it wasn't this bad. The minute we opened the door to room 118 we should have turned around got her money back and slept in the car. The smell of mildew and mold was so strong it would take your breath. the beds look like they had been slept in there was stains all up the walls and mold on the ceilings. We went back to the front desk to let the desk attendant no about this room and it did not seem too shock him. So he puts us in room 117. The smell wasn't as bad in that room and the beds looked a little better and we were exhausted.. I did not sleep for fear that someone was going to come through the window. This motel used to have cockroaches. I did not see one cockroach all night. That's when you know it's bad is when the bugs are afraid to even come in. Disgusting is an understatement. I do not suggest even walking in that place without a hazmat suit and all your shots up to date. The drug users and homeless people in the parking lot did not scare me as bad as what was inside those rooms.

DON'T STAY HERE. We were in this hotel a few weeks ago. The sheets were dirty, torn and clearly used, as if someone had just gotten up. We called the front desk to politely ask them to please put clean sheets, they refused. They told us that they were clean and that's it. Take it or leave. The noise of the air conditioning was unbearable. They refused to refund our money and laughed in our face as we left. Hhorrible place, dirty, strong humidity smell. Stay away from this place.

The people that work there at night and work there during the day are really wonderful nice people kept things going and very helpful. Located near Cracker Barrel, two gas stations with mini store. Most importantly, a waffle House is within walking distance. The room itself was clean, but needed a make over (see pics). 4 hours worth of work and the room easily 4 stars. Note this is from a man's perspective, so something's are not that important to me.

The online site was deceitful. The room had mold on the ceiling. The water faucet leaked. The odor was repellant in the room was repellant and worse in the stairwell getting to the second floor. My cousin has allergies and had to take medication to breath. Our floor was sticky. Not reccomended
