We made a special day trip to eat here. We were seated quickly and ordered camerones al mojo de ajo and vegetarian burrito. The food came out super fast and was amazing, huge portions and the chips and bean dip was great. They have a great salsa bar and our server was friendly. Prices are affordable Absolutely the best mexican place we have ever eaten at.

There's so much to love at this restaurant I'm not sure where to begin. First and foremost, the service was incredible with us waiting longer for our chips and salsa than we did for our food to arrive. They have a unique concept called a salsa bar which has several different recipes for salsa from spicy to mild with a few eclectic flavors thrown in as well. They have several televisions for all the big sporting events. There's ample parking to accommodate game day crowds. The flavors are authentic and prices are reasonable for the quality and experience. I highly recommend this establishment!

If your in town and want a good favorite to scratch that Mexican food itch here’s a good place. Plenty of indoor seating and a covered patio for outdoor options. Staff is super friendly and the best part is there a killer salsa bar that’s actually worth having. Good beer specials as well. Group favorites avocado burrito, fresh table side guacamole, and flaming fish fajitas. Cheers!!

I just happened to be in the area and tried this place out. First thing I noticed is that they have ample parking which is good because there were plenty of customers which is a good sign. Upon entering I was promptly greeted and sat. They have a pretty broad menu so I settled on combination 13 Macho Mexicano because it had a good sampling of different items. I've provided a picture so you can see what it looks like. They also have a fresh salsa bar with double the options that I've seen at other places with Salsa bars. Since they have a salsa bar they provide a bean dip with your tortilla chips. Everything I ate here was delicious and seemed to be of higher quality than your typical Mexican restaurant. Love that they have my favorite pumpkin salsa which is a slight orange color both creamy and spicy. I also liked their tomatillo verde salsa which wasn't watery like some I've had. My entree came with a little sweet corn cake which I saved for last. My server Monzerrat, according to my receipt, provided great service despite how busy she was. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant now which is bad for me because I live 2 hours away. I'll definitely stop by here again in a couple weeks when I'm back in the area.

I don't eat refried beans at all and was taken aback when they brought them to the table instead of the salsa I typically get at similar restaurants. I was hungry and drunk so I ate the beans. Never in my life did I imagine I would live refried beans so much. They were kinda spicy, which I liked. I liked them so much I came back one more time before we left town just for those. They have a salsa bar in place of salsa being brought to the table. We tried a few but the green was my favorite. Margaritas were STRONG. Also, queso fundido is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The sizzling enchiladas were so good! We ordered take out and they were well packaged and temperature controlled. The order came with fresh tortilla chips and salsa. The customer service at pick up was exceptional, very friendly staff double checked we had all of our items. Portions are generous for the price.

Good neighborhood Mexican restaurant that has a very chill vibe and great table side guacamole dip. This is a place that you feel like you can relax and unwind and not feel stuffy.

I've been a huge fan of this establishment for many years. The prices are great, the food is fresh, portions are perfect, table side service and waitstaff was genuinely friendly. The salsa bar is worth the trip alone!!

The food and staff here are always great. I took off stars because their online prices are not correct. I got a to go order and it was higher than expected and I asked about it but I was assured it was correct. Online the lunch taco salad is $8, but $10 actually. Online lunch veggie enchiladas is $7.50, actually $11. Not a big deal, but something worth noting.

Papas & Beer in Asheville is a gem for Mexican food enthusiasts. The cuisine is exceptional, and the salsa bar adds a flavorful touch to the experience. The dog-friendly outdoor space is a wonderful bonus, making it a perfect spot for both great food and a delightful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Always a great experience here. The bean dip that comes with the chips is magical and the salsa bar has a vast array of options. They also have nice outdoor seating options at this location.

Every time we come here we must stop for their delicious food and salsa bar! We love the variety of salsa flavors. They staff are alway nice and attentive. Great portions that we normally have leftovers. I highly recommend this place when your in town!

We ate dinner on the patio, enjoying the night. The chips and bean dip were different, but so much better than traditional chips and salsa. The Pollo Sonora tacos were excellent! The arroz con Pollo were very good. Our server came when we needed him, but didn't hover. The only downside was the jazzed up 80's music. Would have preferred Mexican or contemporary music.

Amazing experience! We had chicken fajitas and fresh salmon. The free bean dip was a plus compared to traditional salsa at other places.

We happened upon this place while we were walking near our hotel and decided to give them a try. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor area was covered, and the weather was beautiful, so it was a pleasant atmosphere for a meal. My wife and I shared the Papa's Grande Platter. It has nachos, wings, a quesadilla, two beef taquitos, and a beef and potato flauta. There was so much value in this platter. The food was delicious too. My only issue was that I felt the wings didn't belong. They got covered in the toppings. Other than that, it was incredible. I would definitely suggest going here. Also, the outdoor area is pet-friendly, which is a plus for us.

Highly recommend! Only had to wait 5 min on our food. They were supper fast and the food was delicious. Some of the best tacos I’ve had and their patron margarita is a must! The service there was excellent! You won’t be disappointed. Definitely will be back.

I came here for lunch and was not disappointed! The waitress/bartender was awesome! I asked her to just order me what she thought I would love. I had the fresh guacamole, (made at the table), fajitas and a margarita. All were excellent! I very highly recommend eating here if you have the chance! Definitely worth it!

It was delicious! I'm here visiting from Texas and the hospitality was Superb!! I was impressed with the homemade tortillas.

Do yourself a favor and come here! We got the Burrito Ashville, and Mexican Style tacos. Some of the freshest food I've ever had. They also bring out chips & a delicious bean dip to start you out. Easily some of the best, if not the best Mexican food I've had.

My 1st time in Asheville and ran in to this place. Everything we tried was amazing. Authentic delicious Mexican food and great service. Very good price for portion.

Great place was blown away by how reasonable priced everything was and the portions were quite generous. Had the two cheese enchiladas and chili reheno comes with beans and rice. Was enough for two meals. The beer was also reasonable priced. Wish I lived around here so I could eat here more.
