The Hot Chicken here is Legit! Skin is super crispy and flavorful. The sides were really good too. I recommend the fried pickle chips. The hot level of spice was just perfect super spicy but not so much you cant handle it. Get a side of honey to dip you chicken in. We will for sure be going back.

Passing through and decided to stop here.. man was we glad we did! Great staff and total awesome food! I got the Hot and son got mild. Hot was real spicy but was great on flavor. Son loved the mild which was still hot. Daughter and wife got plain loved it. Cheer-wine BBQ sauce was lit! Banana pudding was 🔥. Mac n cheese was great, potato salad was good (I like mine with sweet pickles.. but this was good). All sides we had tasted great! Great atmosphere and hard working staff. If we come back this way we will definitely stop back in! Great job!!!!

Bring everyone you know to this place, it’s that good. We ordered online and picked up, it was ready super fast and hot and fresh. The chicken isn’t particularly crispy on the outside but it is packed with flavor and juicy on the inside. Even the plain chicken tender was flavorful and delicious. The Mac and cheese is exactly what you want, gooey and cheesy, with an extra little seasoning that makes it not so heavy. The noodles were a little chewy and undercooked but I’ll forgive that. The chicken BLT with honey hot was an incredible sandwich. The potato salad is more pickle flavored than your typical potato salad, but it was still good in its own right. For a fast, cheap, delicious lunch, I would definitely recommend this place.

Chicken quality here is superb! Order something spicy if you want a challenge, they don’t play any games. Great serving sizes but still a bit pricey. Ordered the chicken tenders and loved them. I recommend the honey mild rub and their zippy ranch dipping sauce. Overall, very pleased with my visit!

So I have heard that Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack was delicious so while I was in the area I had to check it out. I definitely was not disappointed. The chicken was tender and very flavorful! I am a wimp when it comes to spicy foods so I went with the honey mild flavor and it was the perfect amount of heat. The sides were also tasty. We will most be back for sure!

Amazing Hot Chicken! I got two Rocky's Royals with Cheese to try out the heat levels, Medium and Hot. I really enjoyed both. Amazing Mac and Cheese! And we also got a Waffle with a side of plain tenders, both were excellent as well. Very comparable spice levels to some of the places in Tennessee. I acutally enjoyed Rocky's variety over some of the ones in Tennessee. Easy to find, great staff, great service, Amazing Hot Chicken! Can't wait to go back. Love to Eat!

Rocky’s has been my go-to place for spicy chicken for years. All of the entrees are tasty and their sides are excellent, especially the macaroni and cheese balls and the fried okra. I’ve had just about everything on the menu and never gotten anything that I didn’t like. Just this week, I discovered that I could get the chicken fingers grilled if I didn’t mind waiting about 15 minutes. Boy, was that worth it. I added two grilled spicy fingers to my chef salad and it was absolutely fantastic! I’ve had a different diet for about a year but Rocky’s has something for just about everybody. It also bears mentioning that they have excellent chocolate pudding and chocolate cake for when you want something on the sweet side.

Had a wonderful brunch here with friends today. Friendly staff, absolutely delicious food that will be sure to make me stop in to visit next time I'm in town. All in all an excellent experience.

Down here from Texas on vacation. We don't have many hot chicken places in Texas so we thought I'd give it a try. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich (mild spice), my daughter ordered the tenders (no spice), my son ordered the tenders (medium spice) and i ordered tenders (Rockys hot). We all got mac and cheese and fries as sides & 4 drinks. Total was $72.00; pretty steep but the portion sizes are very big. All of us loved the Mac and cheese and the tenders were huge! None of us finished the whole meal. I'm 6'1" 240 and could only eat two tenders, a few fries and about half the mac and cheese. For me the Rocky's hit was perfect.. just enough to make your nose run. My son and daughter LOVED theirs as well. Seriously some of the best chicken I've eaten anywhere. If i went back we'd definitely share a tender meal. We had lots of left overs to take home. We need this in Texas! Highly recommended!

This place is one of my favorite to bring folks that have not been before. They never disappoint. Don't sample much. Always rocky hot chicken breast fries and mac and cheese. All very good. If you haven't been. Give em a try. You will not be disappointed.

Great food. The chicken was well cooked and very flavorful. And the service was great. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. They have a nice selection of dipping sauces, I really liked their ranch. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Feel free to try the extra hot level if you are a nashville hot chicken lover. It is not as spicy as the typical killing hot chicken but taste really good. Balanced seasoning with juicy meat.

I was in the area for a weekend getaway and was looking for something to eat late in the evening. I must say, the chicken here is amazing. So much flavor, freshness, and staff was friendly. I ordered the breast meal with fries and slaw. Chicken was cooked just right and the sides were just one point. I will definitely keep this place on my list of eateries

Hot chicken was on on list while we were in Asheville and we saw Rocky's so we had to stop in. Rocky's menu is quite extensive with salads, fried chicken, wings as well as sandwiches. We shared the three piece sandwich with medium & honey sauce. We got Mac and cheese and corn pudding for our sides both were very good. We enjoyed our meal. You order at the counter and your meal is delivered to your table. Service was quick. Rocky's is a small local business with locations in Nc and SC. It is nothing fancy, we sat in the inside patio area. Employees were friendly and efficient.

Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack in Asheville is a must-visit, especially for New Yorkers like us. Despite the long line, the wait was worth it. The efficient service ensured we got our delicious food promptly, and enjoying it on the outdoor patio added to the experience. The hour spent there flew by, and the dog-friendly atmosphere was a delightful bonus. Highly recommended for a flavorful, authentic and relaxed dining experience.

Soooo good! I had the Soul Bowl with the Honey Mild spice level. The collard greens were probably the best I've ever tasted!! I couldn't pass up getting a cup of soup after seeing that it was Creamy Pea & Ham, and I was so glad I did. Delicious!! My stepson LOVES spicy food, and we took him here when he came to visit. He said that the top spice level was the hottest food he's ever eaten anywhere, and he's eaten a raw Carolina Reaper pepper!! Will definitely be driving back into Asheville to eat here again. Loved the decor, too!! Great experience all the way around!

So good! From the chicken to the side items. I had a great meal at Rocky's. I elected for the rotisserie, as I did not want to get crazy. I ordered it with greens and mac & cheese. Everything was spot on perfect. It might have actually been the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had. Sorry Publix. I know my southern side items and these are perfect. Definitely order the chicken tenders with the homemade ranch as it is definitely good as well. Check it out, Asheville!

When asked what I wanted to eat while staying in town at a local friend’s house, I asked for some good southern chicken. This was everything I could have asked for and then some. The chicken was delicious, and the staff was very helpful in determining the level of spice I would go for; I like spicy, but wanted to taste the meal, and opted for Medium, which was perfect. I can’t quite remember the exact special I ordered, but my friend’s said that anything with the biscuits would be a good move — and it certainly was! I also got a scoop of the Cheerwine BBQ pulled chicken, which was 🤤 and a to-go order of Butterscotch pudding that blew my childhood nostalgia for Jell-O Butterscotch out of the water (not surprisingly). Highly recommend for good southern foods and chicken, and will be going here again upon my eventual return to Asheville!

We were in town and decided to try someplace we had not been before and the ratings looked good on Google we were not disappointed the food was great! Super fresh and hot when it came out the staff was super helpful. Chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken tenders, mac &cheese, fried okra, green beans and french fries were all worth the stop to eat here. If you are close by stop in when we left there was a line out the door waiting to order.

We got here early, just before the lunch rush. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very comfortable, and the music they were playing was awesome- mostly punk/emo songs. Ordering was easy, the person taking our order made sure to inform us of spiciness levels. I got the 3 fried tenders plate, with the tenders having mild spice. For my two sides, I chose the mac & cheese as well as the mashed potatoes and gravy. The plate also came with two slices of white bread, not toasted, and a slice of a pickle. They also charge a little extra for sauce if you get tenders. The food was good, but I don’t think that it was worth $20 after taxes and tip… the chicken was delicious, but the sides were lacking in taste to me. I am glad to have tried this place, but I’m not sure if I would visit again due to the pricing and taste of what I would consider simple southern sides. The service was amazing, though!

Decided to try this after having it saved for my visit to Asheville…. Got 3 whole wings meal with Mashed Potatoes and Fried Okra. My BF got the 2 drumsticks meal Medium w/ Sweet Potatoes and Collard Greens. Both of our sides were really good. He enjoys spicy food so he decided to try the medium after a staff member’s recommendation. He absolutely loved it through the tears from the heat..😩😆 Will definitely recommend this place to eat. Clean establishment and good food. (-1 star for the plain wings they needed a bit more seasoning)

If you like fried chicken that's kicked up a notch or two with an eclectic atmosphere and banging sides, then Rocky's is your place! They offer dine in our carry out and have both indoor and outdoor seating. They do play music, so if you're looking for some place quiet, then this isn't it. You can get the spicy levels ranging from nothing to Rocky's hot to extra spicy. They explained that their levels of spice are a little more intense than most places and they weren't lying. I tried the honey mild pimento chicken BLT and it still had me going. Now, granted, I'm not a huge spice person like my hubs or my kid, but I do love me some Frank's or Texas Pete. Their honey mild had more kick than those do for a reference. Their pimento cheese is rather tasty and the sandwich was a bigger bite full than I could handle! The boy got the Rocky special at the hot level and he said it had a definite kick for him (which is saying something). They offer a lot of side choices and some that you don't ordinarily see like corn pudding and sweet potato casserole. We chose the potato salad, mac n cheese, fries, corn pudding, and sweet potato casserole. Of course we had to pay extra for the sides that didn't come with our meal but we were totally fine with that! I'm rather picky about potato salad but I'd be happy to eat theirs again. The Mac n Cheese is so good with undertones of jalapeño and seasoning salt, but it's not spicy, just flavored. Their fries are crispy crinkle fries, not soggy, and already seasoned. They pair perfectly with ketchup or their ranch dressing. (Total side note, their ranch is so freaking good that I would gladly drink it and ask for a refill!!) The corn pudding took me a little aback, but it was still enjoyable. It's not sweet like a dessert, which is the way I'm used to corn pudding tasting. Their's is a savory corn pudding. It's good but it took me some adjusting to eat it. The sweet potato casserole tastes exactly like my Nanny makes and that is a huge compliment!! I could eat a whole plate full of it and be a happy camper. We don't have a Rocky's anywhere close to us so this one is going to be a must eat when we're traveling and run across it.

Great stop. Casual atmosphere. I had the chicken pot pie and my friend had the rotisserie chicken. The chicken pot pie had great flavor with nice slices of carrots and chunks of chicken. I tasted my friend’s rotisserie chicken, and it was so tender that it was like butter, flavorful and comforting. Mashed potatoes were decent. Biscuit was flavorful with a nice crunchy exterior and soft inside. We also got the hot chicken dip and that was yummy too and a great start for the meal. The sweet tea was perfect. Just enough sweetness and actually had tea flavor instead of just being sugar water. What a great stop!
