👍👍 This park is amazing. There's a forest and a small stream going through it. My favourite walk is through the fields leading to Annesley where there is horses and you can just about hear the buzzing of motorway in the distance. No other park feels as special as this one, with it's mysterious aura. Al... People often mention park, walk, cafe,

Lovely hidden gem, Free car park with plenty of space. The park has plenty of trails to explore. The pounds are just lovely to and next to the visitor centre. Definitely recommend a visit.

Grew up playing in Portland park (down quarry's ) from Mayfield street a group of us would spend most of the weekends/holidays down here as kids, 20+ years later thought we'd go down see if it's same, couldn't find the water steps but found the bmx track (humps n hollas ) although over grown still looks like kids are still having fun there, found the "paddling pool" was surprised the boat has gone, its the first time in all my life I've seen it with water in yes I'm coming up to 40 but walking round here took me straight back to being 10, great cafe good selection of food even full cooked dinners, beer bar bonus, great day out won't leave it so long next time PS, anyone know where all the old photo albums have disappeared to I remember looking through these as a kid and most of my family the Browns, and Hutchinson's off Mayfield street were in em,

Known as the quarries locally. I had the pleasure of being taken here. If being close to nature is your thing... then this place is for you... steeped with historical landmarks I can't wait to go back. With my phone hopefully to take photos

Lovely park for a short walk, and with many different paths, you can come again and again and walk a different route each time. The Fat Rabbit is also worth a look, serving a tasty breakfast, a nice coffee & cake, or even a pint or two for your evening walks.

This is my local walking/running area, and I use it one to three times a week throughout the year. It's not the biggest country park and takes 1.5 to 2 hours to walk fully. There are shorter walks if required. There is a car park and a cafe that allows dogs. Many of the paths are on disused railways as the area had 6 or 7 lines running through it. There are still two active lines running through it.

I took my children in the summer 2021. It was lovely, beautiful walkways, lovely rivers, the kids enjoyed seeing the waterfall, horses and cows.

The Wobbly Wander joined up with the Ashfield Photographic Group to take a few photos of the park. It is quite an interesting place to get to but once there it's well spread out. There's a cafe where snacks are available.

1st time, I've walked around here for many years, and it was very peaceful. Free car parking, too 👌🏻

Lovely peaceful spot. The nearby snack bar offered refreshments and light snacks, making it convenient to stay and enjoy the park for an extended period. Plenty of parking too.
