My husband and I with friends visited the Woolpack yesterday (8th June) and had a splendid meal. Our compliments to the chef. Well worth a visit for anybody looking for something special.

Ate here recently with my family on a Sunday after being recommended it by my eldest child and her partner. The pub itself is lovely and quirky and the staff seemed friendly, although it was busy so they didn't have much time to stop. Service wasn't fast, but we appreciated the rest between courses, so for us it was good, and we weren't in a rush to be anywhere else. Also, it isn't a fast food place, so I wouldn't expect or want rushed service. The food tasted lovely. Apart from one fish and chips, we all had a roast (1 lamb, 1 chicken and 3 pork belly). The chips were great, as was the battered fish. The meat portions for the lamb and chicken were quite small for ~£20, but it was all well cooked and the portions for the sides/potatoes and veg were generous (although they're obviously the cheaper ingredients from the meal), so overall it was enough food. The puds were lovely and good sized portions. My one reservation and the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars, is that we were seated where we could see the chef and he used his hands/fingers to plate up all the food (meat, veg, fish, etc... everything was picked up using his fingers/ hands and arranged on the plates), which was a bit off-putting as I couldn't see how often he was washing his hands and at one point after we'd been served our food, he wiped his face with the side of his hand and I couldn't see if he then washed them or not. I almost left 3 stars simply because of this, but felt that, on balance, that would've been too harsh, although it does put me off eating there again.

What an absolutely stunning place. Myself and my Husband stayed here for 2 nights in room Josephine -and wow! We loved it. The Room was so quirky but peaceful and in the end I loved the fact there was no TV. The pub is stunning and the breakfast included was delicious. The staff are so lovely and accommodating. We shall most certainly be back for another break. Thank you all at The Woolpack Inn.

Serving warm boxed cider in summer. Come to the pub after a long hot walk, want a nice cold drink & id been served a warm boxed cider which might be one of the worst tasting drinks I’ve ever had. Should do themselves a favour and get dark fruits tap (COLD) or bottled bulmers (COLD) Tastes like really cheap mulled wine which isn’t what you’d expect when you ask for a cold fruity cider. Nice pub other than that, just weird selection of drinks. Sometimes just trying to be different isn’t a good thing. Just get what people like.

Beautiful venue and drinks. However, after waiting around for the staff to finish speaking to each other to only order the most overpriced food, I wouldn’t be able to describe this as a great dining experience. There was not a great selection on the menu - especially if you fancied a healthier option. Although if you are fancying a healthier option - I wouldn’t highly recommend NOT going with the Caesar salad. With barley a full leaf of wilted lettuce, and grey gristly chicken skin (which had definitely been already picked up cooked from tesco), a few watery fishy jarred anchovies, and some stale bread fried off in the pan, all covered in a jarred sauce. All for the grand price of £17.50!!! I think there was a reason the staff ran off so quickly when they grabbed the plates and didn’t ask how our food was.

Overall 4 stars. I have stayed in the Five Bells part of the chain and was interested in staying here. The room Frederick was very nice, spacious and clean. We didn't see any ghost though! I like the décor and vibe of the rooms. The food was very nicely presented ordering chicken as a main and crumble for dessert. I done a mid week deal so nearly everything was included in the package- the room, dinner and breakfast just paying for drinks separate. Mulled cider at the bar was very nice also. Overall a nice experience for an over night stay.

One of the best pubs I've ever visited. Gorgeous relaxing setting with garden offering sunny and shaded tables. Food was exceptional and way beyond 'pub food' with some typical pub menu options along with interesting specials. Marinated chicken kebab 10/10. Very good selection of drinks and beers. Team were friendly and very helpful.

Absolutely lovely place - it's got some real character. Stayed overnight in the Josephine room. Some lovely touches that add a really personal touch. Had a lovely breakfast the next day outside. It is an old coaching inn. Access to the rooms is up a steep, but narrow, flight of stairs. The bed was lovely - I'm quite short, and it was perfect for me to starfish, but might be a struggle to comfortably accommodate people in the taller percentile. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely pub, in a wonderful setting managed by an incredibly friendly and welcoming team. The food is great and they have a decent range of drinks. How anyone can leave a 3* review because they couldn’t be bothered to check the opening hours is beyond me!

Superb service and exquisite food made for an exceptional evening and breakfast. Thank you Wolfpack team, you’re an amazing group. Nothing was too much trouble and made the stay with our family from Australia one we’ll treasure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a gorgeous place to be! Went for their Wednesday night steak night and we weren't disappointed. Gorgeous rump steak with chunky chips and a nice drop of red. Apple and plum crumble for pudding was divine! Staff were friendly and the whole experience was brilliant. Thank you 😊

First visit last night and booked to go again before we left. Beautiful country pub which I can imagine would be great in winter with a log fire going and summer with the amazing outside tables. You have to see them to understand. Service was friendly and relaxed with exactly the right balance of being attentive but not rushed. Head chef Dave and his team are at the top of their game. Starters of ham hock terrine and chicken liver parfait looked beautiful and tasted great. Mains of skate wing and goan curry were out of this world. Clever use of local suppliers, imagination and a whole lot of skill mean the kitchen are sending out really great food. Prices are spot on as well. Can't wait to come back or our Sunday roast.

Went for lunch with my husband and dog. Had a lovely glass of wine and had the small beautifully cooked fish on a warm tartare sauce with samphire and chips. The service was friendly but a bit slow in asking for our drinks order. The reason I have given four stars is because the place looked a bit grubby especially the glass in the pictures, (a lot of them had actual drip marks) and the glass on the doors had lots of finger prints and smears. Probably only visible when you are seated. When I was a waitress I would always sit at several tables before opening and have a good look as a customer. Would definitely go again though because food and atmosphere was lovely.

Just been for a meal with my wife and I must say, when we first walked in we both felt it looked very quirky which we both liked. My wife asked if we could sit by the open fire which they said we could We looked at the menu and my wife commented on the limited choice due to the meals we were informed they were out of. I had a very nice starter , but the rest of the food was very underwhelming. My wife didn't enjoy her food at all but ate it because she was hungry. We didn't find the staff very welcoming and at no point were we asked if we were enjoying our meal. when we finished we paid the bill and went to leave , the server didn't say thank for our service and couldn't have moved away from us any quicker then she did. It's a real shame as I was really looking forward to trying the Woolpack ,

Highly recommend the Woolpack for group events! We were a 13 person hens party and we spent a wonderful 4-5 hours at the Woolpack following a day of pampering at the nearby Green Farm. We had a private area which the Woolpack was more than happy for us to decorate as we wished. Ed’s communication was seamless and the service on the night was excellent. Extremely easy going pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff!

Loved the place from the moment of arrival and knew within the first 20 minutes that it's heading for a 5 star review. This pub/inn stands out because of the special atmosphere due to a lot of beautiful design choices that keep the 16th century charm while making the pub super trendy. We are a 50+ couple but found that the place was packed with younger couples and groups (<35). Menu and bar caters for everyone. Staff very attentive. Booked B&B and staying in charming Niddy room. Loved the stylish and healthy cooked breakfast. And have a look at the outdoor area (see pics).

Super lovely pub. The food selection was really good, as the vegan burger and chips was very tasty. The staff were really friendly and the log burning fire added a cosy touch

Absolutely delicious food. Especially the home made scotch eggs. Beautiful old pub. You can always judge a place on its loos too and the loos were lovely too! Had a lovely afternoon.

We have just had a very enjoyable stay at The Woolpack Inn. Great staff and excellent food. We loved the delightfully quirky rustic shabby chic charm of our room but I could see that if you are a finicky sort of person and prefer modern facilities then the rooms may not be for you. We had an excellent night's sleep. The stairs leading up to the rooms may be a bit of a challenge if you have any difficulty using stairs. They are quite steep and twisty.

Meal on birthday celebration for Family member was disappointing: little care because 2 courses each had dish missing- we were party of 6. We were asked if we wanted “ pudding” before we had been served main course. Staff inattentive to point of rudeness. Will not return

We've been in for a nice dinner. Ambiance is amazing, food is delicious. The waiter is a very kind, fun person 🥳 I've had a duck breast and the taste of everything together on the plate was unexpected! Maybe we have been right in for a busy night, hence the orders were served a little later than expected.

We stayed the night B&B. We had one of the attic rooms which we found to be very much to our taste with its reused floor boards as wall panelling and the bath at the foot of the bed [the loo was separate :-)]. The room had lovely views of the church yard over the road with its resident sheep. The bed was very comfortable and we especially appreciated the complimentary decanter of port, kettle, coffee machine and copious coffee pods, tea bags and milk in the fridge on the landing. For dinner I had pie of the day (chicken & mushroom) and I requested chips instead of mashed potato. The pie and spring greens were excellent and, while not cold, I would have preferred the chips to be a bit hotter. In the morning we both had the English breakfast and that also was excellent. The Woolpack is a free house and at the time that we stayed there they had two Romney Marsh Brewery ales - I tried both and they were both excellent and well kept. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

I was charged twice for my meal and promised a refund this was 3 weeks ago and still haven't received anything. I have tried to call but it's now impossible to talk to anyone. I've also emailed and had no response!! I used to love this pub, my daughter has ceoliac disease and the gluten free options were amazing. Unfortunately, the menu is now very limited no pizza (gluten free included) and they had run out of gluten free buns for the burgers. She had to resort to a very small curry which was extremely underrated and overpriced. The only option left, is to drive there to discuss this with them in person.

Located in the middle of the Kent countryside in a very quaint Kent village called Warehorne, The Woolpack Inn (a 18th Century pub) is a fantastic location with some of the best food I've tasted I have the fish and chips and never tasted batter so crispy and so light and the fish being freshly caught the same day. The head chef I believe is Michelin certified but I could be wrong. I fully recommend this place!

We went here because it was on our way back to our holiday camp site. What a find. Beautiful pub in a beautiful village with lovely views. Food was excellent. Excellent staff. I would recommend this pub if your in this area.

This is an incredible place. Everything from the uniquely rural setting, to the great taste in background music, to the quirky interior upcycled interior is special. Well done to the team. Oh, and of course, the food it also exceptional. Must come back and stay next time.

Really sad to say I’m very disappointed. I used to really like going here but over the last few times I’ve gone, we’ve had very bad experiences. We put it down to being maybe a one off but sadly not. The owners are very nice people and I would love to say it’s great but hopefully some honest feedback will help them get the place in order again. Some staff members aren’t up to scratch and frankly don’t seem to care. We had some BBQ food during an event and my partners food came out raw in the middle. Explained to the staff they agreed it wasn’t right. Ran out of food and came back with a burnt alternative which didn’t get eaten. (We put it down to a bad day) went in there a few weeks back and told the staff we were looking for food get menus etc and waited 30 mins to get served ended up leaving having drunk our drinks and asked again for food and left shortly after to find somewhere else. And went in there again to to try some food ended up having pizza which was under cooked doughy and tomato puree had not seen hardly any heat. Really poor, was going to ask them to put it back under the heat but felt all a bit embarrassed to have to ask (as clear as did it wasn’t cooked enough) so we won’t be trying again. I’m sure depending what you order you might get better luck as other reviews seem positive but really it’s pretty basic stuff to get right. We left feeling that we wished we gone somewhere else so we could have enjoyed a nice meal. As I said owners are great and location is nice but food is very poor.

A rushed lunch last Sunday to catch a train for which I regret. The two are not compatible, as this place clearly prides itself on the quality of its cuisine, freshly cooked to excellent standards. So my recommendation is to not make other plans for the afternoon and to sit back and enjoy the experience. The best things come to those who wait... I will return under better circumstances. Thank you.

Super nice pub, the staff are really welcoming. Cod and chips was fresh and in a very good batter, pizza is good, also the 'Dirty Dog" hit the spot. Nice ciders and ales. The puddings are so good, chocs fondant, honey comb and ice-cream, Victoria sponge, good coffee. Very lovely garden with living tables, there are plants and herbs grown in the middle, lovely idea.

If you care about your roast dinner, you have to eat here. No question. Amazing selection of wine and friendly staff. We'll be coming back!

Lovely evening here, sitting outside in the sunshine. Sheep and lambs bimbling around in the graveyard across the road. Aspall cider and Old Dairy Jubilee ale gratefully downed. I had a GF pozza with mushrooms and goats cheese and it was delicious; excellent non cardboard base. DH had the lamb and declared it very fine. Service was friendly and efficient

Very disappointed. Awful service, steak not cooked properly and being told 'the chef will not cook you another' after my plate being returned to me and put down infront of me with the steak cut in half. The chef refusing to cook another steak after cutting it in half to say if you look right in the middle it's a bit more rarer. Absolutely shocked. Will not eat there again. Also took 20 mins to get our drinks. I came here a few times throughout the years. I will not be coming to eat there again. Shame as I used to love it.

Excellent Friday lunch, warm cosy. Staff excellent. Food is very good and line with what you expect from part of the rocksalt group. The best time is summer outside with heaters and pizza straight from the oven.

Cosy pub with plenty of outdoor seating. Very busy today but the found room for one more. The food was hearty and excellent. And the manager made a point of checking a potential food intolerance I had missed. Great stop off on a walk though vineyards and along canals
