Food and drink were both spot on, let down by the service. If you have dishes not available on the menu you really should advise your customers before they order, there’s nothing worse than going to order a dish and being told it’s not available and neither is your back up option! Also maybe before you put your coffee machine through the wash you could ask your remaining customers if they would like one, was disappointed I couldn’t have an espresso based cocktail without being advised before hand. Considering we was one of three tables dining that evening, we was never asked for another drink we had to ask, only when last orders were called at 9.40 we was asked if we would like a drink. Evening would have been spot on if not for the above.

A lovely Christmas dinner in a festive atmosphere. We had a range of dishes between the 5 of us and everything was good. Our waitress Izzy was great too. We have Christmas dinner here as a group every year and it never disappoints 😊

Lovely staff, lovely decor but the food wasn't up to much. We all had sandwiches with fries, the bread was ordinary and the fillings uninspiring. Sorry White Lion, not our favourite on this particular visit.

staff excellent. Ambience good. However my meal, sausages and mash was appalling, I mean, catering sausages? really ! The price of the meal would have been fully justified if the sausages had been excellent but they were in my opinion rubbish. Catering sausages will not do.

Lovely location. Well furnished, very tasteful. Attentive staff. All the food was to a great standard, including kids dishes. The kids pizzas were top quality - beyond other pubs kids dishes. Highly recommend.

0n the 16th October my daughter had her wedding reception at the hotel and we hired out 11 rooms . I can honestly everything and all the staff where brilliant the food was lovely and nothing was a problem. The rooms were very nice clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and I would recommend the White Lion and Hotel to anyone who was having a celebration 🍾

I cannot fault the service or the food we received on my birthday yesterday! The waitresses were nothing but friendly, accommodating and efficient. The cocktails were to die for, the food was lovely and came out quickly. Now, the star of the show was the deserts, AMAZING!! We will most definitely be returning and bringing more people to show them the lovely atmosphere and service!! Thank you very much to all the waitresses working that evening, it was the perfect way to end my birthday!!

Went here for a club Christmas party, there was 42 of us so quite a large party. The staff at the White Lion were fantastic. They were attentive, enthusiastic, smiley and seemed to really enjoy what they do! The food was great, we had the festive menu, great selection to choose from, very well cooked and tasted amazing. A few dishes were a little more warm then hot however the staff and kitchen dealt with this quickly, so couldn't fault them. Very impressed, would definitely recommend!

We were looked after extremely well by all the staff, in the function room for my father's 90th birthday. 18-12-2022 The food was excellent, and the decorations, a lovely added bonus. I added to these with my own country farm life theme ,too. A beautiful place ,ideal for private functions. Nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming. We shall return and certainly recommend to friends and family. Thank you to everyone ,you're a great team .

We had a wedding at Tenterden church. The location was ideal and comes with free car parking, The rooms are very spacious and a very good nights sleep guaranteed. We had Smallhythe room and my sister in law Rye room both with a nice view of the church and high Street. The bathroom was a large bath I'm 6ft and could lay and submerge fully in it with a shower over bath , Large bath sheets and small towel. Tea & coffee and a sparkling and still water in room. Breakfast is from 7.30 - 10.30 and caters for all tastes vegan etc, no cereals out and you pay for everything including tea & coffee which I thought a little strange as most hotels tea and coffee included in breakfast. However I would recommend The White Lion as it's centrally located in Tenterden and reasonably priced. It also has a great bar. Friendly helpful staff.

Visited today for Sunday lunch waited a good hour for the food to arrive. I had beef which on the plate looked like scraps of what had been left of the joint.The roast potatoes were definitely stale. We have been so many times before and the service and food have always been excellent please don't spoil the quality and service it would be such a shame

4 of us had the sausage and mash and the gravy was really bland and watery, very disappointing for such a lovely cosy pub. Also a lot of things were run out for early on a Saturday evening and on the second day of the new menu…! E.g. the crackling and broccoli! Thank you for a lovely evening though and excellent service.

Popped into the white lion for a drink with friends, greeted by Hannah who was very welcome was served by the lovely nicole, very chatty and friendly - great atmosphere

Walked in on the off chance. Got really lucky. Food, staff and ambiance all excellent. Highly recommended

Had the fish and chips but stingey on the food for almost £17 and peas were dried up. Not value for money but service as always very good.

We had the most amazing Christmas party here last night. The staff were brilliant - a packed pub, no endless waiting, served promptly. Lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Had a fabulous last minute stay at The White Lion. Enjoyed a delicious pizza and a couple of pints in the bar. The staff were all lovely and friendly. My room was large, spotlessly clean and had a big bay window. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Slept like a log! Currently enjoying a coffee from the Nespresso machine in the room whilst catching up on some paperwork, the Wi-fi works!!!!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch however the service was so slow and the drink that we ordered was not available and only found out after we ordered. Good if you have a lot of patience.
