The hotel could be wonderful with a proper management. Lovely located with a romantic architecture in a wonderful garden. Unfortunately that completes the positives. The whole hotel incl. the breakfast area and our room were extremely dirty. Room service is doing things worse then before (if showing up at all). The heating in our room was running on full steam (in August) and no one in the hotel was able or willing to change that. Windows could hardly be opened. When asking for help the hotel staff was reacting rude and did not care. The Spa is old and untidy. Hotel guests are not allowed to use the Spa during the day as only day spa guests have access. The hotel seems to live from weddings & day spa guests and people that seem to show up once and never again.

Really enjoyed a great Spa Day with my daughters and one of their friends, lovely relaxing time by the open air pool. Lovely breakfast and lunch. Enjoyed stretch and relax class, lots of different classes to book on if you are feeling energetic. Very well equipped gym for those who want a workout. Very enjoyable day. Will definitely book another Spa Day soon.

OVERPRICED HOTEL - PLEASE AVOID I have just checked out from my 3 days stay. It’s a beautiful hotel but seems to be very under staff. As we arrived we were given map and told to find our room by ourselves. It was 2/3mins walk from the main building. It’s winter time so walking in dark in the wood (PLUS IT WAS RAINING) from the main building wasn’t fun at all. When we entered in our room, the bedding wasn’t clean. There were lots of hair and marks on the bedding. It was even ripped at the side. One of the lamp wasn’t working as well as TV wasn’t working either. We came here to relax and have a cozy time. Never expect the basic things in our room to be not cleaned and working properly. We were not even given any refund or change of room for these things. Even with restaurant we were given 3 course meal and it was not on their record, thankfully I had email confirmation from them so they couldn’t charge us yet they made us pay for service charge for all the meals we had even though the package included all the meals. Spa centre was good but I think I will rather come here for spa day than staying in future. We spent £1000+ for 3 days which is so so not worth it for the service and treatment we received.

Beautiful grounds and manor house, excellent service but not worth the premium price for a spa hotel. Spa was basic and dated, with the jacuzzi being out of action during our stay. Certainly not worth the price that's charged for spa access or spa days. Rooms close to the spa are modern but lack any luxury. Also the bathrooms need a good dep clean, lots of limescale around the bath and black mold on the shower sealant, plus the rugs in the rooms were all stained. We were upgraded as our beds were so uncomfortable in our original room but even the upgraded room was not worth the money charged. I would hope the manor house rooms were more luxurious for their pricing. Breakfast was excellent and we couldn't fault the staff. Its not up to the Champneys standard so it was a bit disappointing. I wouldn't rush back.

Stayed here for two nights for our wedding anniversary! Our room was upgraded to one of the suites near to the outdoor pool. Amazing spa facilities and fantastic breakfast. The restaurant menu for lunch and dinner was okay but food options weren't that great or exciting. However there are few good places nearby to eat and drink in case you fancy something different. Overall brilliant location to get away from London and enjoy the beautiful countryside manor.

Room was nice but so hot and with no air conditioning and the windows painted shut it was sweltering. Breakfast was good but the service was terrible. We were constantly chasing for menus, service, missing food items. Clearly the staff were flustered. 2 days after a wedding there were still glasses and bottles strewn over the lawn. As others have mentioned before cleanliness of communal areas is lacking. The mirror behind the bar reveals a lot. It's absolutely filthy and has been mentioned in other reviews as far back as 3 months ago. Both times I tried to use the outdoor pool it was locked (during open hours). Apparently an issue with too many chemicals having been used. It has all the ingredients to be great but it desperately needs a shake up on the service side. Staff are all very friendly but there is an obvious absence of management or accountability.

This could be a five star venue but is let down by a lack of attention to detail. It feels as if it's remotely managed and whoever is in charge floats above the details without thought. I could list dozens of examples but some samples are: Web site is not clear about the two restaurants - the Spa and the Brasserie. In fact the Spa is not part of the main house and only operates lunchtimes. The Brasserie is evenings only At breakfast guests make their own tea or coffee. No tea pots so it's all a bit USA and a decent cuppa impossible. A small number of staff are excellent and are carrying the rest who are dozy or careless. Items ordered on the Terrace not arriving or a long wait to get served. Harsh? Well it charges Premium rates so I expect premium service. No shower safety no-slip mat - cheap item to provide but not thought of. Next stay locally will be at a Hand Picked hotel at Lenham. Their management do attend to details. Grateful to a couple of bar staff who were attentive (a bar supervisor and a new starter)

What a beautiful venue! I booked the overnight spa package for my boyfriends birthday, it included breakfast and a £35 dinner credit. This credit turned out to be a 3 course meal for both of us we only had to pay for sides/drinks. The drinks were not expensive considering it is a hotel. The accommodation was lovely and the manor is so picturesque. I would definitely consider this to be my wedding location. The breakfast was buffet style, super tasty. For the evening meal I had the ham hock, 6oz sirloin steak and strawberries and lavender ice cream. All 3 courses were thoroughly enjoyed. Our meals were in the spa restaurant, the main restaurant also looked bouji. All the spa facilities and the outside pool were very good, clean and well maintained. I would love to return.

It was a wonderful afternoon. The staff were very, pleasant, friendly and helpful. Minay & Maddy (tea room) and Michael (bar) were exceptionally helpful… I would highly recommend it. Absolutely loved the scones!

Recently popped the question here for obvious reasons and the staff, especially Sam on reception were outstanding. Super helpful, friendly and couldn't have done it without them. Absolutely made the moment perfect, and the rest of our stay was just as fantastic with good food and a very relaxing time at the spa. Can't recommend the place highly enough

I’m a regular user of this venue we come as a large group at least twice a year. Its had its fair share of ups & downs over the past few years but now each time we visit it gets better & better. My most recent visit was a pre wedding stay for a group of 12 ladies. Eastwell really went above and beyond for all of us, nothing was too much trouble. 3 of the group were in their 80’s 1 almost blind and 1 with dementia. On the morning of my sisters wedding they really came to her rescue, she had to leave to get to Leeds Castle earlier than the rest of the group, so we were all in the spa unaware of the nightmare that was unfolding as she tried to leave 🙈 Unbeknown to us, as she tried to leave her cars lights had been left on for our entire stay so it wouldn’t start, the battery was completely dead. We didn’t have any other cars as we were all being collected later. My sister broke down in tears, but the staff at Eastwell were amazing! They found a member of staff and their own Eastwell vehicle and came to her rescue like knights in shining armour 🥰 Amazing service, this is a typical example of how lovely the staff are. I can’t wait to go back in February as the team always make us feel like we are at home. God bless you all xxx

We stayed in The Mews Cottages At a cost of nearly £200 per night to stay, to say we were disappointed is an understatement. On arrival we were clearly not important enough for the staff members to stop their conversation to greet us. Once he acknowledged us, Tommy was helpful and friendly, explaining everything we needed to know about our stay. We ask for a cheeky upgrade but were told they were fully booked. We found our way to our cottage and then to our room. The room was SO small! Dirt on the floor and window sill, flies and spiders all over the ceiling, a huge dirty mark on the back of the bathroom door and a TV that was useless! No channels to watch, the smart facility had been disabled, basically just a glorified radio. There was also a gap in the window frame where they were so damaged. The bed however was very comfortable and the toiletries provided were of good quality. We slept well, it was quiet through the night. Breakfast the next morning was a total shambles! Too many people, not enough staff and not enough food! One staff member was rushing around in such a flap she was like an accident waiting to happen! Totally put us off. We were seated and then ignored! Hot food took a long time to arrive and most of it was poorly cooked and some even inedible! The cold buffet was of great variety and mostly delicious. On asking to talk to a manager I was fobbed off with 'she's not here right now, have her business card'. Other guests were also told the same having had a similar experience to us. They added service charge on to everything, even room service to bring us 2 drinks (£30) and a correct size robe. We asked for this to be removed! Don't bother staying here, it is a total waste of money!! The Spa was a different story, they were friendly and helpful. The jacuzzi was not working and hadn't been for a long time. Our massages were AMAZING!! It was quiet and we were able to enjoy the pool, steam room and sauna. We then had afternoon tea which was also lovely, expensive but lovely. The service here was wonderful, they were attentive and kind. Definitely recommend the afternoon tea but avoid the hotel!

What a terrible place and very over priced! Room 622 at the mews was awful! The rain shower was like a leaky gutter and socket hanging off the wall. The windows were cracked and mouldy and not insulated. I could hear everything outside and the noise of noisy neighbours was too much to be able to sleep. The carpets and skirting were poor, the radiator was rusty, shower gel for hand soap and the TV wasn't working. It was cold and damp and there were lots of flies. The dinner was below average for the extortionate prices and drinks were overpriced. I was given the smallest bottle of coke ever! When I booked the restaurant, I put in the request box that we were celebrating a 40th birthday but there was absolutely no acknowledgement to this at all, and I see this information was on the reservation list when we arrived. The spa facilities were dirty. The breakfast was poor. For £312, this place was nowhere near good enough. 40th birthday ruined!

We had afternoon tea for 25 at Eastwell Manor. The Bishop of Bayeux room was beautiful. The service was poor. The afternoon tea - stale sandwiches clearly made the day before. The tea itself appalling, five big teapots for a table of 25 and teabags - builders tea at its worse. Stewed . Please don't book for an event as you will be disappointed the staff are not able to cope with events.

I arrived with my elderly mother for a 2 night break and stayed in The Mews. On arrival we found a double bed and not twins as requested and then the heating was not working. After 3 requests and a drive out in the car to keep warm the heating was fixed but no one ever changed the bed to singles (which could have easily been done) The spa facilities are run down with paint peeling off the ceiling and cracked and crazed sinks. Grubby over all really and generally dirty and in need of a makeover. Not the high-end experience they claim! The staff were friendly and polite so maybe they are just short staffed which is effecting the experience staying there. I was happy with the gym.

All staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Hotel was nice, room was comfortable, meal was very good. Spa treatment was excellent. Spa facilities were a little tired, includingthecafe. There was nowhere to actually sit down in the spa area as people had towels over the seating or took up double beds. Shame as there are notices asking not to do this.

Exceeded my expectations for our 25th wedding anniversary. All amenities worked, rooms were clean, parking was super convenient which made unpacking and packing so much easier than most hotels. This place is really historical and romantic. It is just like staying in an Elizabethan castle, with oak and stone everywhere. Manicured gardens are very nice. Never stayed anywhere with such accessible and lovely gardens. It is very easy to walk from the mews house guest rooms to the swimming pools and Spa Centre. Very quiet at night. I had a really restful sleep due to the quiet. Some of the comments below are hard to understand having stayed there October 1st 2023

Rooms weren’t clean, you could see dust and dirt, stained bath robes, shower in our room was broken, quality of room was poor- you could see it by run down things or for example tv mounted blocking pictures hanging behind. Spa not cleaned, around the pools, steam or sauna floor dirty. We came to celebrate out first wedding anniversary and noone even acknowledged it, our anniversary dinner was a disaster, with bland food that we had to wait an hour for due to staff absence and multiple other events running at the same time. Very disappointed with the experience especially for the premium price you pay. The building itself and grounds are glorious though. We wouldn’t stay there again sadly.

Eastwell is absolutely stunning, full of beauty and feels like magic. I haven’t yet stayed here but I have had lunch, drinks and spent time here on numerous occasions. I have visited 7 times. The staff are always exceptional, welcoming, helpful and are a credit to eastwell and make the visit amazing. Whilst sitting at the front of the hotel I watched one staff member Tiago greet every single visitor with a smile, a warm welcome and was so helpful. Again, an absolute credit to the hotel. On a ridiculously hot day, he didn’t waiver once and ensured that I had everything I needed….even checking at one point if the bar was quiet so I could order without a second to wait 😂 Impeccable staff which absolutely makes the visit enjoyable. Really and truly amazing place. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful but the staff absolutely make it! When the piano player starts…..heaven! Thank you 😊

Beautiful place, nice room, I stayed in the mews a short distance from the main manor. I recommend taking a torch. You'll need it if you venture outside in the dark to go to the spa or between the mews and the manor. The outside lighting isn't great. We got lost a few times! 🙂 The food was fantastic and the staff were very helpful. Beautiful gardens too. The only negative was that the room was dusty, the shower wasn't very clean, and the blind in the bathroom was broken. Bed was perfect though! So comfy

Three star just for food and the service, specially the Asian lady :) I had a very good time with my friends. The food was really good, specially lunch. However we found both receptionist (2 ladies) did not make us feel welcome. Later that day, one of us received partly wet bathrobe and when we asked for it to be replaced the receptionists disagreed. When challenged to feel it for themselves, they reluctantly agreed and handed us a replacement without any apology. This made us feel whether the company pays their staff well enough as they didn't act committed in their jobs. Otherwise, a perfect day and great atmosphere.

Eastwell manor is a gorgeous estate that is unfortunately let down by Champneys service standards. The hotel is split into three separate building blocks, the manor, the spa and the cottages. When you arrive, it is not clear where you are supposed to go to check in. We had to walk back and forth to figure it out. We have paid for early arrival, but by 3.30pm we still did not have our room keys. We were given a free drink at the bar but that's it. The staff did not inform us of any of the processes. We were told the spa robes were supposed to be in our rooms, but there weren't any. We called the reception and they told us we actually had to collect them during the check in...The rooms have no soundproofing. The spa was disappointing, jacuzzi was being cleaned and was out of order the whole day (Saturday). The dinner was overpriced and we were not informed that our dinner credits did not cover drinks (including water!). We were asked if we wanted any desserts when we were paying our bill at the bar till. Breakfast was really disappointing. It consisted of very limited continental breakfast choices. Gas station coffee tastes better than the one they served us. In summary, it's not worth the cost. If you want a great spa experience, go to Aqua Sana instead. Its terribly sad they let such a gorgeous estate waste away so much.

We came here for afternoon tea to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel extremely welcome. We were sat immediately in the lovely lounge. Beautiful champagne was served straight away. The tea was delicious and the food was beautiful. A gorgeous happy anniversary plate made with white chocolate was presented to us and was such a lovely touch. We will be back again. Stunning grounds, lovely and quiet.

Fabulous! We had an amazing Christmas at Eastwell Manor. The staff were truly fantastic; nothing was too much trouble for them. They were all polite and so friendly. A big shout out to Matthew in the bar who always greeted us with a big smile and great conversation. We were really surprised that even though the staff are missing their Christmas at home and they work long hours, they were always so jolly😊🎄. When we arrived on Christmas Eve I disappeared off the the spa ( which was a sublime experience) and left my partner to find the bar, where he was very comfortable! The drinks were reasonably priced and the room was decorated beautifully. I joined him here for a delicious afternoon tea with complimentary mulled wine. The Christmas Eve dinner hosted by Gusto wines was fabulous. The food was sumptuous and the wine pairings perfect, with interesting information about the wines, production and vineyard. We went to a lovely little local church for Midnight Mass where the locals were so kind and inviting. The hotel provided a complimentary mini bus to and from the church. A surprise Christmas stocking was discovered outside our door on Christmas morning, this was such a lovely touch! Breakfast, lunch and buffet dinner on Christmas Day was perfect and the birds of prey display on Christmas afternoon was a real treat! The handler was brilliant! Boxing Day was perfect, again with a delicious breakfast and lunch. The waiter at lunch in the spa on Boxing Day was wonderful, but sadly we can’t remember his name although he deserves a mention for going above and beyond simple table service. He was helpful in choosing a delicious wine, so polite, cheerful and seemed genuinely interested in checking we were enjoying our stay. The evening of Boxing Day was tremendous! The Murder Mystery was just fabulous; extremely entertaining and funny. We really enjoyed it. Well done Eastwell Manor! We had a truly fabulous Christmas with you and we would definitely return! Thank you.

We had some small bites and drinks out on the patio. There was a beautiful view of the gardens. The service was delightful and friendly. The ambience of the patios, building and gardens was relaxing and a delight. We took a while to slowly walk through the gardens and absorb the atmosphere. Many were enjoying bigger meals or tea both inside and outside. Definitely worth a visit.

We have just come back from the most amazing stay at Eastwell Manor. Our suite was in the Mews courtyard, which was so pretty as we entered it through the beautifully kept gardens. The view from our room over the countryside was stunning, with our own personal patio. The room it self was spaciously gorgeous and the bathroom with the roll top bath and massive shower was luxurious. We had an evening meal that was so delicious, and the cocktails were made beautifully. Breakfast was a massive buffet of everything you could possibly need, and a full cooked menu for you to choose from. We had a spa treatment on the next day, followed by a day of decadent luxury in the spa itself and the outside pool area. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and we were looked after all the way. Cant recommend Eastwell Manor enough. Thankyou for our wonderful stay. Sharon and Charlie.

We had a lovely spa day. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely and healthy. My only criticism was that we wanted a cup of tea at about 4.45pm and the cafe/restaurant on site was already closed. There is a cafe in the Manor House but on the hottest day of the year it was just too far to walk.

Went here on work related training course and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Facilities were amazing, there are plenty of things to enjoy from gym and spa, to tennis and just simply walking around the beautiful gardens that surrounds the manor. The food was stunning, compliments to the amazing kitchen staff. The hotel has a certain character and style that is classic and I liked that. Would go again.

Fantastic venue. Wonderful historic surroundings. Friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Exceptional food - cooked to a really high standard with great presentation. Very historic building full of character. Ideal for a special meal, afternoon tea or larger celebration. Also a really great, recently refurbished spa centre.

A maze of a place and needs a few more signs! Ended up walking round in a circle looking for the spa out of the Mews. Found the outdoor pool! Chris, restaurant manager, was so helpful. Food was delicious although we only had starters due to illness. Mews rooms are quaint. Staff was so helpful to sort things Spa area was good and staff friendly. Could be a little more refreshed. But lovely and light.

The hotel customer service was amazing, they were very helpful and were looking after everyone. Christmas menu was divine. The chef was absolutely fantastic. I had so much food I believe I had a food coma on the 3rd day. As I have some allergies, I was very well looked after. I had special menu. The Xmas Eve was great, we were well entertained. The hotel thought of every detail, even little gifts for her and him on the Xmas day. Only down side, if I need to pick on something were complimentary treatments, they were a little bit short, just 25 min. But I will definitely do it again next year. Absolutely worth it.

Overall good. A nice weekend break. Location was great. The spa facilities were okay. Pool lovely and warm. The staff were friendly and well mannered. Good facilities for Covid-19, bedroom was well presented. Bathroom could have been maintained slightly better for the money I paid. Radiator valve was broken in the bathroom. Also we didn't get room service while we were there. Contact with the hotel prior to arrival was difficult.

Lovely grounds, great room - both ideal for our dog. Good food - we had room service delivered, so it was off the bar menu rather than the restaurant menu, which was a pity and unlike other top end hotels. One meal was not as described on the menu so had to be sent back (the hotel tried to charge me for that). Housekeeping came on only on one day, made the bed but did not replace the towels - I had to fetch clean towels myself. Our dog was welcomed in the house and the service from the breakfast staff was really warm and welcoming. As others have said, watch the bill. Gratuities I don’t mind, but the charity donation was not mentioned or requested. And, it’s not on the confirmation email. So, read the bill before paying. Overall, a lovely, relaxing break. Only small niggles on the food choices, the invoice/over billing and the housekeeping.

Can't rave enough about it. It was a visit of a lifetime really between the gorgeous rooms, lovely staff, great food, and beautiful grounds. Now we were there with a function so we didn't eat off the bar menus but the breakfast in the morning was a delight (had both Continental and hot) and the meals with the function were delicious. There was plenty to explore but then also options to relax. There were a lot of people in bathrobes coming and going between the spa, pool, and main building, but I think that helped prevent potential stuffiness and a pressure to be too reserved so that you didn't enjoy yourself. It was still very civilized 😊

Having been a fan of Eastwell Manor for years I can safely say that this relaxing get away is top of my list of places to chill. The staff are wonderful. Barbara in the spa is exceptional! Absolutely the best massage therapist for miles! Amazing food and would come here just for the food in the brasserie. Great staff and lovely vibe ❤️ will recommend to friends, family, colleagues and my guests.

Overnight stay with an old friend for B&B and a meal in the Brasserie. Our mews cottage was very adequate and clean. Asked for a fridge in the room on booking but it was not there and a twin but bed was joined. Had a word with reception who immediately rectified the bed and delivered the fridge in no time. Would definitely stay here again. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed waking around admiring the views and the wonderful historical manor. Spent time in the spa with pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Food was excellent in the brasserie but we did have to wait a while before we were served our food as they were very busy. Staff were exemplary just needs more of them. Best breakfast I have ever had. Eggs Royal with what ever else you might fancy. Wish I knew where they buy their granola. Delicious 😋. Would definitely recommend this hotel as a break or a venue for a wedding. The meal was a little pricey but the quality of the food was worth it. An amazing treat. Loved every minute of our stay.

Lovely place to spend the weekend or relax… I went there with my niece and sister in law for afternoon tea… the service was impeccable and nice Dilum and Compaby were very pleasant. The selection of tea was good, the sandwiches, cakes, and scones were delicious. I must say the made a mistake with my booking but thanks to the bar Manager I had a great time he arranged all to have a lovely Princess tea party for my guest coming from the U.S . Toilets were clean I highly recommend this place

The food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were very good. However, the food and the health spa, (which was excellent), were not as amazing as the staff. The customer service was fantastic and every member of staff we interacted with was absolute lovely. When I can afford it, I will definitely be returning.

We were looking for accommodation for our last minute wedding and it was a stressful experience as quite a few places were booked. However, as soon as we called Eastwell Manor, all stress dissipated! I got through to a gentleman called Tommy (on reception). He was THE MOST helpful person I have ever spoken to. Most other places we looked at just said to look at their website, but Tommy took the time to explain all of the options to me and advised the best ones to make the most of our wedding weekend. He was patient with all of my questions. He was incredibly calm, informative and professional, describing the services and rooms on offer. To follow up this call he instantly responded to emails with further information for our booking and sent an easy link for payment with extreme efficiency. He alone, makes this hotel worth going to- his service was second to none and we are no longer stressed, but confident that we will have an amazing stay :) We cannot wait to spend the weekend here!

Absolutely stunning location for a break. Was catching up with a dear friend and having a reunion with some school friends so we didn’t even have time to use the spa on this visit. Such a beautiful hotel. Will be back again next year for sure!
