I love this place. The area around here is super fun to explore with a bunch of stores and small places to eat.

Beautiful rebuilt pagoda at Senso-j temple complex. Does not seem to allow visitors inside but a great place to take some travel photos outside.

This 5-storied pagoda is beautiful and easily photographed from any angle. However, if you are seeking the ultimate angle, you need to move around to find the best light possible. Mornings are quite good in the Summer or Spring, when the light hits the pagoda. At night, visitors are allowed to come here and the 5-tier pagoda is lit up beautifully, so photography at night is also possible. This pagoda was built in the 7th century and no one is allowed inside. You can read up more about this pagoda by searching on Google.

This is a very sacred Buddhist pagoda. It is a part of Sensoi-ji Temple, which has the highest number of religious tourists a year, and that is more than thirty million. The pagoda has limited access. It is built in a typical Buddhist temple fashion that is prevailed in Japan. I heard that hairs of Gautam Buddha was brought here from Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The red colour of the building on a square plan, and the elongated roof of every floor give it a typical temple look. It is mesmerising to look at, and gives a serene ambience. The Temple is visible from far, whether in Asakusa, or in Ueno. It attracts devotees from around the world. It has a picturesque view. Tourists like to take picture with it.

五重塔 Gojūnotō [Five Story Pagoda] A landmark visible from much of the Asakusa area. Beautifully lit in the evenings. The associated buildings are vast. There are a pair of large komainu (lion dogs) on the North side near the 奧山門 Okuyama-mon Gate.

The five-story pagoda. It stands 48 meters high, so you will see it from almost anywhere in the square of Snsoji Temple. The original building burned down and this is a reconstruction.

Beautiful at night during the rain. I liked the sound of the waterdrops on the rooftops and the sigh of the water flowing all arround in the lights, like in a movie...

A five storied pagoda next to Senso-ji Temple that is generally closed to the public. Can only admire its architecture from afar.

A famous Buddhist Temple in Asakusa surrounded by other famous landmarks, hundreds of small shops, restaurants and bars. It's a great place to visit both day and night time. During the day at the weekend gets really crowded

Funny, first time I saw a pagoda was when I played Pokemon Yellow on the GameBoy when I was young. So when I was actually able to see it in real life, I was beyond excited. I loved seeing this five storied pagoda alongside Senso-ji Temple. The architecture behind it is incredible. I may have been more impressed by the structure of the pagoda even more. If you’re in the area during the evening, the pagoda looks even more magnificent.

Beautiful historical building, beautiful in day and night. Read about the history and what does it reassemble.
