👍👍 Decadence in all its glory. For the finest views of Omonia Square, jewel of the down-at-heel Balkans, make every effort to come to an event at this Aladdin's cave of cult grime.

Good scenery place but unfortunately it is totally unorganized, therefore you might get there and still not follow a performance. Has no steady personnel, so it is a good will based service, in case something goes wrong in terms of security and facilities. In a completely dangerous area specially night hours, has no parking, heat, difficult to reach in high traffic so be sure that you definitely want to see a play and take your chances to get there. It's at your own risk

We saw a play there. Alice in the Asylum. Great venue for this show. It simulates the space of an Asylum, so the space for this show was very well chosen

This is a historical building, sadly misused in recent years. However, it is always a great place for art performances and installations. If you're ever in town, check what is on and visit, if only for the history.

Very interesting place, try and visit it when you find an opportunity (theatrical play, exhibition, et. al). Can get sweating hot in the summer though, and it's not air-conditioned, so you should absolutely get plenty of water and a hand fan with you!

Atmospheric interior. Perfect match for the Medea play. I don't understand how and if it really has been restored.

The most amazing performances show you around this amazing historical building at the very heart of Athens.. read before hand what the performance is about. There are no surtitles nor other device/apps for non Greek speakers: nevertheless it is an experience to be in there, as you can see the history unfolding from the old mirrors at the entrance and the ballroom to the ceilings reveilling the original murailles!

Super easy to access. The entrance is right in front of one of the metro exits in the Omonia square. There is a balcony where you go out to relax, smoke, or make a call. The events take place in a tall and large hall room. The seating is... up to the organizers, it seems. In my case, they had placed rows of small chairs in the perimeter of the room. This is a very old building that is left pretty much as it was build maaany decades ago, with minimum maintenance done. Yes, the derelict style was cool some time ago, but my god has it been done to death. Bars, clubs, shops, restaurants, they all love to look and stay "abandoned". Time to spend money on something different people, or just...spend you know. Let this style die.
