This is a great little place in the middle of some tourist madness. The menu is available in many different languages and the food is very reasonably priced. We had the lamb and the beef and both were excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go here again!

Delicious food at affordable prices. The have a set menu which includes two dishes, a drink, water and a dessert. If you go under the 15€ budget they will charge you less. The Greek salad and the squid were delicious. Our bill came to 29€.

We have some of the best Greek salad. The restaurant area is quite safe and we felt very welcomed as Asian even after the pandemic. We came back twice for the meal in Athens. Thank you to Nicholas and we hope to see him again someday.

We had an excellent dinner at this family style Greek restaurant. They have a really good deal - pick 2 mains and you get a drink (beer, wine, Ouzo, soft drink or juice) and dessert as well. All for E16. We were well looked after by John and his family. Would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back! The calamari, octopus salad and fried anchovies are mains I would certainly order again. Edit: We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back again with friends. The owner Nikos was working and if I could give 6 stars, I would. He treated us as if we were eating in his home, with legendary Greek hospitality. If I'm ever back in Athens, this place is definitely on my itinerary! P. S. Nikos makes a mean grappa from his farm. I wish I could have bought a bottle to take home.

My goodness, what an awesome little restaurant! We stumbled upon it as we walked through the shops in Plaka after a trip to the Acropolis. We were hungry & walked up to check out the menu. The owner came over and was so friendly that we decided to give it a try! They have this great menu with a little bit of everything, but the best part, you can bundle dishes and get a great price! For example, we were 4 people and got 2 dishes each, with a drink and dessert for 64 euros! Drinks could include a glass of wine/beer, soft drinks or coffee. The servings were super generous and super delicious! You can feel the family atmosphere here! Definitely worth the visit! Local always tastes so good!

This place is so nice. We had a menu (€28 for 2 persons, it included water, one drink per person, four dishes and a dessert) which exceeded all our expectations, given the price. The portions were big and very tasty. Especially the lamb and pork fillets were so good. Don’t let the shady street keep you away from this restaurant. It’s worth it.

We loved this place. The food was 10/10 (authentic, homemade, not touristy), the vibe was phenomenal (laid back, quick, welcoming), the scenery was spectacular right outside under a tree (ideal view, like living a dream), great prices, great service, and very good food. We kept talking about this place a few times during the rest of our trip. Lots of traditional Greek food. The dolmades were FANTASTIC. Amazing sauce. I highly recommend that dish, very traditional Greek.

A very special place for a lunch break while touring Athens. Affordable and well prepared food, with something for everyone but still many authentic greek dishes. The fried calamari are fresh and excellent, as well as the grilled sardines.

What an amazing experience, this is the real Greek flavour and service, you will not find any other better restaurant, be careful because most restaurants around are tourist traps, but this one is a real one with authentic flavour, service and charm. The portions are very generous. I came with my family and we all loved every single dish, we were very hesitant with several options but after asking for suggestions we can all say that we were very pleased and amazed with every single recommendation we got. My suggestions: Mousaka, meat balls, calamari, vine leaves and saganaki. I would definitely come back, (I did twice)

It is the best restaurant in Greece. Good price, and amazing taste. The owner is very kind and friendly. I will definitely come back Athens for the owner. Note: The dessert was so good, and try olives too!

A family affair all about generosity. The menu offer a selection of typical meze and dishes, more on the rustic side, made with heart and taste. You can choose à la carte or through a fixed price menu (any 4 meze for 2 people + drinks + bread + dessert for 30€), and at the end they will charge the most advantageous for you. We actually stopped after 3 dishes that were enough for that night but will gladly come back to try other items on the menu!

A cute family restaurant with lovely service - we had a free shot of homemade raki which was really good. We got free dessert that came with the set too (€30 for 2 pax: 2 dishes each + one drink). The owner was a sweet and friendly man and I would come back again for him! Beef was quite tough, but I generally liked the food and portions were huge.

Fantastic restaurant! The dishes were excellent. Taramasalata and moussaka was much better here than in other places. Prices were very reasonable as well. Nice, family atmosphere. Service was fast (we were two times here). Toilet was ok.

Such a gem we found by Monastiraki. We were sighting in the flea market, searched Google map and led us to this restaurant. Service is super quick, unlike most places in Greece,  and food is gorgeous.  We had moussaka,  and it was the best we had while in Athens.  There is some tasty complimentary dessert and olives, and we left the restaurant,  satisfied and having paid a very small sum. The service is superb! Thank you!

The best Greek we have had in Athens. The octopus salad was also amazing. The grilled chicken had a great marinade and was moist but it’s basic. We mopped up all that sauce with the bread they gave us. The meatballs were also good and moist The spaghetti in tomato sauce for our son was just that. It’s not Italy so don’t expect anything great. The service was fast and good staff were very little and happy They also have us a semolina cake for dessert. Would definitely come here again

Stumbled upon this gem. Definitely deserves the 5⭐️. Super fresh, home cooked traditional food. Great value too. I know there’s a ton of these tavernas in the city but this one is great. Casual, sit outside, grab a mythos and each some delicious food. The tarama is amazing!

A great find in the heart of Athens, in Monastiraki area flea Market. The restaurant is a family owned with a lit of dishes to choose from at reasonable price. The dishes were more than enough and very tasty at vvery reasonable prices. The service it was attentive and the place very clean including the rest rooms.

Loved this place! We stumbled upon it while exploring. It's a little off the beaten path, so it's quiet and the atmosphere is just really nice for dinner. Small plates concept was great to be able to try multiple things, and the set deal for 2 was great value: 2 plates per person + a drink and a (admittedly not that great, but didn't matter bc I was plenty full before that) dessert for 32euros total.

Wonderful place for Greek food. They have an option where you pay 16 euros for 2 orders from the menu that includes bread, drink, and dessert which is nice if you are really hungry and want to try multiple things. A highlight was the super delicious Greek salad!

The service was great and the staff very friendly. We loved the tranquility of the place on a Monday evening. We were welcomed with free tasty olives and also got a dessert for free and discount. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the restaurant very cozy. Finally, the menu is super affordable! We will definitely come back!

If you want traditional Greek Food, this is the place to go! The service was amazing as we didn’t have to wait and the staff recommended a larger table for the two of us - this was highly necessary as the plates are quite small. We got the $16 special which allowed us to choose 2 dishes each. While I only went for the dolamades, my favourite turned out to be the moussaka! The stuffed tomato was absolutely unique and very filling. The only unfortunate side is that we found a piece of hair in the stuffed tomato. This was quite disappointing but we opted to ignore it given the friendly staff and amazing food.

We had an amazing experience in this restaurant. Their "special menu" of €14 euros per person is the best choice. 2 plates per person, drink, water, bread and dessert... The food is really tasty and well served. The staff is very nice, and work tirelessly to satisfy you. I would totally recommend and return!

You are a tourist in Athens. You are looking for a place to have lunch or dinner. You look across the street and you see 2 grandfathers serving amazing food to a lot of people. You stop, you smile and you seat down. They give you the menu. You close your eyes, you randomly select any meal and it will be the best food you had during your stay. You are welcome, thank me later :)

The best place to eat alone or with friends. The location is perfect because you are in the tourist area. I Pay less than 15€ the prices are Accessible, the quality of the food is very local and amazing. I went alone and at the end of the meal, they gave me a typical dessert. Thanks a lot! I highly recommend the Moussaka

We loved our dinner. We ordered the greek salad, the lamb with oregano, moussaka and calamari. All were so delicious. The lamb is a must try - the meat is so soft and juicy. The restaurant is a family run business and all are super sweet and hospitable. Such great value for money, would definitely recommend when coming to Athens

Great and cheap restaurant in the center of Athen. It is a bit hidden and off the main roads. The concept of this restaurant is a menu for 16€ per person. It includes 2 dishes not matter which ones, one drink (beer, wine, soda), a little dessert and a shot at the end. A great price in total for this offer. The food was tasty and the service was friendly and quick.

  • 5/5 Nesa A. 9 months ago on Google
Everything was great. Definitely a family owned business, where they were all working at the restaurant. Great food, service and very good location. Everyone was nice. Compared to everywhere else the price was very reasonable. It’s a shame we couldn’t finish all the food.

Just had a wonderful dinner here. Everything we tried was amazing! I recommend the calamari and anything that has the potatoes, as they were great. Very reasonable pricing. Friendly staff. Quick service.

PERFECT RESTAURANT! They propose a menu for 16€ included: the drink you want (soft, beers, carafe of wine, and more!), 2 dishes (real portions, so in big quantity), bread and water. They offer the dessert. The quality of the food makes you feel like at home. Basic presentation but really tasty and generous. The waiters are really friendly and kind. The atmosphere is calm since it’s not on a road, and the terrasse is peaceful. The decoration inside worths a look! I highly recommend you to go for lunch, so that you can enjoy the qualitative and quantitative menu! See you soon, next time I come back to Athens!

Nice place just off main streets. Busy but fast service. 6 of us had 12 plates. Very generous serves, we could not eat everything. Including drink, bread and desert, price was €16 per person.

A super nice family run restaurant, 14€ pp, for which you can chose 2 dishes, have a drink and get a free dessert. Nice and quiet terrace

  • 3/5 Aiym M. 2 years ago on Google
Saw this place’s great offer for family menu, €28 for 2, including water, bread, small drink, 4 positions from the menu and dessert. We thought it is a great deal and got fooled by it, since the mussaka was burnt from the bottom, beef was not that fresh, even Greek salad was not good (I honestly don’t know how it is possible to mess that one up), we barely touched the dessert, and overall that was the first place in Athens that disappointed us in a week.

  • 3/5 Mido M. 2 years ago on Google
Family owned restaurant with good welcoming service. The food is lacking some spices. I had to add some salt and pepper to my greek salad due to the lack of spice. In overall prices are really affordable but taste is not there.

  • 5/5 Aljoscha 3 years ago on Google
Mezedopoleio, restaurants making small dishes made to share, seem to be somewhat overlooked by tourists. Wrongly so because they (together with the traditional Ouzo) can be really awesome. And this is a good one. Really fair prices, great taste and helpful staff makes this an easy recommendation. I would eat there again without a second thought. The menu (4 dishes for two persons) was more than enough for the two of us. + Not expensive at all + Helpful and nice staff + Great, local taste - nothing really....

  • 4/5 Roberto P. 2 years ago on Google
Very cheap and very authentic Greek food. They suggest two dishes per person, but they are big portions. One dish per person should be enough. Food is good and service is fast.

  • 5/5 Carrie 3 months ago on Google • 8 reviews New
Authentic and delicious! We both ordered the €16 menu which included 2 dishes plus drink and dessert each. We tried the dolmades (excellent), moussaka (melt in your mouth and so light), stuffed tomato and pepper (very flavorful) and roast pork (very good). Large portions meant we had leftovers. The food all tasted homemade and each dish was so different that we were glad to have tried them all rather than just ordering the same thing. We would definitely eat there again!

  • 5/5 Rahiti J. 2 years ago on Google
A family-owned restaurant with the tastiest food in the neighborhood and the friendliest staff ! We were 2 and had 4 dishes at a very good price (yes we were ambitious) and they offered desert and liquor... we finished it all even if we were full. Totally recommend this restaurant !

Great local greek food restaurant with very sympathetic owner. He offered me dessert on the house and a shot of raki that was made on his vineyard. He offers a 14 euro menu that includes 2 dishes and a drink (I chose house made wine). Quality of food is great.

I agree very nice staff, but to me the beans completely oversalted i think that day they were a problem in the kitchen and the fried aubergines with more oil than food whereas i usually like them, i couldn't tell the aubergine's taste. Nice dessert also.

Monastiraki Flea Market! We skurry in and out of shops, and giggle as we hurry around the isles, in the light start of the rain, looking for a cafe to enjoy some wine and hide from the hopefully a quick storm. Nicholas meets us at the gate of his family restaurant. Olives 🫒 from his personal farm, warm bread 🥖 covered in herbs, lightly grilled, drizzled in olive oil… wine made by his family 🍷and oh my god someone slobbers on themselves.😆 Greek salad arrives vibrant colors huge chunks of tomato 🍅, cucumber, pungent slivers if onion, green peppers, topped with a rectangle of fresh feta cheese covered in herbs & drizzled in olive oil. We haven’t even had our meal yet but we’ve decided this is the must do place that we have to come every time we come to Athens!!🇬🇷 Dinner arrives moussaka & grilled sausage arrive & somehow we make room to eat more. I watch as Siousxie’s in pure unfiltered ecstasy… like a touch of God on her tongue 😇

If you want to get a feel of Greek culture, taste incredibly good food and be treated very nicely by the staff - this is the right place. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant at least once and trying their moussaka (it's delicious and worth every bit of money), as well as other meals. The owner is very kind and welcoming, thanks to his recommendations me and my family had a wonderful first dinner in Greece.

A cozy and charming family owned restaurant located on a little square with antique shops. We arrived at sunset when the antique shops were closing and the place became more quiet. The menu was simple, but versatile. The food was absolutely amazing. Good service and great value. Love this place and would definitely recommend it.
